I had shopped around and found that I did not have to settle on a certain range of site for my progressive lenses. I had purchased from SamsClub's Vision in the past but gave another company a try. We've been purchasing insurance for our glasses for several years against damage, and about 4 months ago we actually turned in a claim for damages. Allstate required proof of damage, which is reasonable, and paid our claim allowing us to have new lenses make at zero cost to us. Thank you Allstate for doing as promised!

I did purchase the protection plan, however the start date was listed as the date of purchase, rather than the date I received my glasses. This is not equitable. No coverage is needed while the glasses are being made. The start date should be the date I recieve my glasses from the optician, which is weeks later.

I shouldn't have to wait for insurance or filing insurance claim to have my product taken care of with nobody else in the world except Sam's does this. This is the one thing I will probably mean I won't go back to Sam's again for my glasses. The product is sound and great for value but this is the one area that doesn't need to be handled the way it is it should be handled in-house with Sam's .

Bad experience

I was in need of glasses so I stopped by to get some prices. I was pleasantly surprised to hear there were significantly less than another company. I ordered them and make payment that day! Just to receive a phone call about 25 minutes later to be informed I was charged the wrong price and I would receive a call the next day from the manager. She called the following day and informed me that the order couldn’t be made until I paid the difference. We went back and forth on the phone and I eventually asked for the store manager. She put me on hold and when she came back said that she would figure it out and that the order would be placed without me paying the difference. She said we will call you in 7-10 days when they arrive for pick up. Today is 14 days and called to get an update. I was informed that the status is pending and that I will get a call tomorrow with an update. Ironically, I received this review email today. Needless to say, my experience has been bad and doesn’t seem to have an end in sight….

Was told Allstate insurance came with the purchase

The salesperson told us we received Allstate Protection Insurance with the purchase of our glasses. She never stated that we would be charged for the insurance. We never would have purchased the plan. We bought 4 pair of glasses and had 4 different charges. We found out several days later when we received an email from Allstate thanking us for our purchase with the price charged to our card. The plan starts the day you purchase the glasses and lasts for one year. It took 2 weeks to receive the glasses so why didn't it start the day we received them. Very shady to claim the insurance came with the glasses but never say we would have a charge for almost $140 dollars for insurance we never would have purchased. We won't be purchasing our glasses at the same store next year. Allstate should never start the insurance the day of purchase unless you walk out of the store with the product.

MY LENSES WERE SENT TO ANOTHER STORE. THEY CLAIM THAT THEY WERE NEVER RECEIVED. SO NOW, I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEM TO RE ORDER THE LENSES ALL OVER AGAIN!
