This kayak is very light and easy to transport. It is also very stable. We have taken it out a few times and even my five year old can handle it. On one trip out we had my eight year old and a friend on at the same time and it worked just fine. Tracking is not great and it is slow, but stability and weight is much more important for our uses. The fact that the paddle is included made this a really good bargain. I had hoped that I could use this too, but it sank immediately when I got on. Any hopes of slimming down and using it where gone when it sank under a friend who is about 145. This product is easy to transport since it is so small and light. It can go in the car or on the car without a problem. The price is better than any place else I have seen. I would buy this again.

Our 3 year old boy used one of these recently at a swimming hole we visit, and he was enamored! We did not even have to teach him how to maneuver it. He got out there and rowed all over the swimming hole. The boat is very stable and easy to steer - he never fell off. I bought him one for his 4th birthday, and he loves it. What a great price too!

This is a great little boat, our 4year old is able to maneuver with just a few pointers. Ours came with the attachable seat but she prefers it without it attached. Paddle was much nicer than expected. This will be fun for years to come, very solid and stable

My 3 young kids came home from summer camp LOVING kayaking, so I wanted to continue their passion, except on a budget. This is the perfect way! After reading all the good reviews, I was nervous that i had wasted my money when it arrived and it looked quite small/unstable to me, but we got it on the water and actually tried to tip it and realized just how stable and well-designed it really is. Plus the compact size makes it a breeze to load/unload. My stocky 100 lb 8 year old gets around the little lake on it just fine, no tipping, and he truly enjoys it. My lighter-weight girls (ages 6 & 10) can zip around on it too; even the 6 year old had absolutely no problem picking up how to maneuver this by herself. But also, it looks as if it could be easily tethered to my larger kayak or even a small boat and pull them around the lake too. So we bought two of them: one blue, one pink and if you wait to get them on sale, it's just absolutely the best $$ spent this summer! I can see upgrading the older kids to something bigger in the next year or two, but if you started younger, this is a fantastic beginner's kayak that could last quite a few years and probably still be in good enough shape to pass it on to another blossoming kayak fan. HIGHLY recommend this purchase!

We purchased 2 of these kayaks a year ago for our grand kids to use. they have payed for their selves many times. they are so sturdy and rugged and with stand kids. they are easy for them to paddle and they will out last the kids i'm sure. the smiles on their faces tell me it was a great investment.

I bought this for my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter. She loved it from day one. Of course she wears her vest whenever she uses it. It's very stable and if she falls off she can climb back on by herself. she takes her 2 1/2 year old sister riding on the back. She can row pretty fast on it so we need to follow in our own kayaks. We tied a rope to the kayak to prevent her from traveling too far away from the houseboat. I would recommend this kayak (with supervision) for anyone from 3 on up. The 2 1/2 year old can paddle the kayak too but seemed to lose her balance easier. The back rest was useless and prevented her from climbing back on easier so we don't use it.

Purchased for 7 year old and about 47" tall. She loves this. It's easy for her to navigate. We tested it in 24' pool and then had her out on the lake with it. The stability seems great. I love that it's light and small enough to fit in the back of Ford Escape with the seat folded down. I'm knocking off one star because one end of the paddle filled with water in the first 10 minutes. The screws had to be removed to drain it and then were replaced and sealed with silicone. That did the trick. Not the end of the world and maybe it's to be expected for the cost but it's something to be aware of. I am very happy with this purchase and would buy it again.

I wanted a kid's kayak with a paddle for my 5 and 7y old kids, and this product meets those requirements. I got my 2 kids into a kayak to make their first experience, and it has served us well so far. The kayak is not too heavy, which is good because carrying them is a bit uncomfortable. There is a spot on the side with slight finger indentations where you can grip it, but effectively you have to hold it tight to your body and walk fast... There is just one handle on the very front that is attached to the kayak; I wish they had a second one on the rear so that 2 people could carry it comfortably. My shipping experience was not that great, which may or may not be Walmart's fault so I'm not deducting points for that; delivery was delayed by a few days (I got timely notifications, though), but what annoyed me the most is that the Fedex estimated arrival date was updated to be 1 day later close to the delivery date, throwing our plans again. Luckily the Fedex truck came very early in the morning so we didn't have to wait at home the whole day. Overall, it's a great value for your money.

The kayak itself is good, but it does NOT come with a back support seat. I was surprised as I own 3 kayaks (adult and kids) and they all came with back support and paddles. This kayak does have hooks where the back support would strap into, but no back support. While the photograph shows no back support, I bought it on the basis of some reviews here which referred to a back support and the description never said "no back support". Kinda disappointed after spending over $100 on this. It should at least come with all the essentials. What good is a car without seats?

They are easy for little people to stabilize and maneuver, small and lightweight enough to haul around and strong and sturdy for those accidental bumper boat incidences!! My kids LOVE these and I totally recommend them to anyone under that weight limit I love riding them as well!
