I bought a Delonghi air conditioner from Sam's and after a year of use it started to give off a bad odor. It's a funky odor I can't describe, but is getting worse. I called Delonghi and only got excuses, but no solution. They have no idea what could be causing the odor. I also own a Hysense portable air conditioner which was purchased the same time as the Delonghi. I am not having any problems with any odors from the Hysense air conditioner. I clean both air conditioners the same way after use. The Hysense is fine, the Delonghi stinks. The Delonghi works well, but I can't stand the odor it makes. I guess I will have to junk it which will be a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson. I won't be purchasing any Delonghi products.

Great a.c. unit

I have a delonghi 4 in 1 (500) from 2018 that I really like and it is a 5 star unit. I decided to purchase this 3 in 1 (500) 2020 I went with the 3 in 1 since I will not use the heat function in this location. Boy did delonghi cheapen the part from the hose that snaps into the expanding piece that goes into the window. The plastic is so thin it bends. I was wondering why the bedroom temperature jumped up to 81' with the ac unit on. I looked behind the curtain and the plastic hose end had popped out of the window expansion piece so all the hot air was blowing up the window and not outside. After popping it back in it fell out again, seems as hot air comes out of unit the plastic gets even more pliable and will not stay locked in. I grabbed my industrial hot glue gun and glued the two pieces together. A regular temp glue will not hold as exhaust would melt it. I went to older unit to see if I could swap the pieces, well you can not delonghi changed the design from two pieces to one and the plastic is very noticeably thinner on the new unit. Performance of this unit is very good for a portable unit. FYI Portable units do not cool as well as window units of similar ratings. Delonghi did upgrade the remote control with temp setting on remote. This unit displays all information on top of the unit so you need this from a distance. The 2018 delonghi displays everything on the front panel but nothing on remote. Overall I would buy this unit again but very disappointed in delonghi quality on parts going down. I just hope they didn't cheapen the internal components as well. I own two Delonghi units and one 2019 Honeywell (400). I think the Delonghi units are nicer.

The temperature setting is not what you might get from the unit. Tech support says there is a 5 degree swing + or - from what the thermostat is set. Also had a problem with the exhaust hose getting hot. I think this is why the thermostat is not accurate. The exhaust hose also will not stay in the window attachment and the tech support said to use duct tape to hold it in place. Design of the hose adapter to the window opening does not work. I have another brand and the hose stays in unless you release the clips. Do not recommend this item.

Best portable AC unit I've ever had until two days ago. Quiet. Rarely ran except on the hottest days which lately were more. Kept both the temperature and humidity sooo comfortable in an work room area. Then five months in, just died with a PF error code. Returned to Sams and buying a different unit, different brand.

The unit never cooled. It was returned and exchanged for the old fashioned window models - which work very well.

I bought this a few months ago have been using it when the temperature gets over 76 in the house. Cools 2 rooms easy.

Had this a month so far, works well. I use it in conjunction with ceiling fans to move the air around the downstairs.

Doesn't seem to get very cold, and does not cool my small living room. We had to buy a second window unit.
