If there were half stars, I would go 4.5. Got rid of my Dyson Animal Ball vacuum and am trying this one based on reviews. The things I really like about this vacuum are: suction seems to be equal to the Dyson (based on amount of debris in canister after vacuuming); it gets further underneath objects such as the bed, end tables, etc than the Dyson Animal; I see no reason the entire canister can't be rinsed under running water after removing and emptying, then replacing after a 24 hr drying period (there is nothing in the manual that says to either not do this or to do this but it is one of the things that made me crazy about my Dyson - that powdery, gray yuck that could never be removed even after emptying - so I do it with good results; the lift away feature is really nice and the onboard tools and wand are much easier to use than those on the Dyson. The things I do not like about this vacuum are; it is heavy, hence, my arthritic hands and back do not fare well after a whole house clean - it is more difficult to push and pull than the Dyson, however, it maneuvers quite nicely turning corners and changing directions; the cord is 5 ft shorter than the Dyson which is just enough shorter to make a difference for me in my large rooms and I have to change outlets much more often. Is it a keeper? For now, my answer is yes, however, I do wish Sam's had the Powered Lift Away version available. I definitely would have spent the extra money for it and would advise anyone considering this vacuum to at least research Shark's Powered Lift Away.

I was kinda skeptical that the Shark would compare to my Kirby but I do believe it does a better job! Only downfall(if any) is that its a bit heavier. Glad we made this purchase...I wasnt even upset that they were a 100.00 cheaper a month after we purchased ours.

Brand new out if the box but didn't work. Sam's replaced it right away but the second one didn't work either. I reached out to shark directly and it sounds like a faulty piece they are sending me a replacement part to see if it fixes the problem. No fault on Sam's club end they were helpful in attempt to correct the issue as much as they were able:)

This vacuum exceeded our expectations. It is quiet and does an incredible job on both carpet and hardwood. The dust container could be a bit larger but it is very user friendly. And the attachments that come with it are very effective for those different types of jobs.

I had a 10-yr old Shark Rotator Liftaway, and the hose ripped. I decided to buy this new Shark and test out the "self-cleaning" roller. It really works! The maneuverability is improved, there is a bumper guard on the front, the attachments are good - loving the extension tool, and I only need to push a button to switch from hard flooring to carpet! Great replacement for my old Shark!

I like this vacuum very much. Its a little hard to get used to the weight distribution with the heavy canister on top but I really like being able to easily empty the canister after every use. It also gets a LOT out of the carpet - it is very good at getting pet hair up.

Was expecting the vacuum to be similar to the one I had before. This one doesn't have the controls on the handle and no light on the handle. Was very disappointed in this and would not have gotten this one if I would have known this. I do not like the different way the accessories also attach differently.

this vacuum sucks! It has a strong suction power. A vacuum is a vacuum right? so why pay $300 for a vacuum? they are all the same and do the same job. Or so i used to think! WRONG! With the switch of a button i can go from hard floors to carpet and back. I have also used the extension to clean baseboards and the ceiling fan. It cleans with ease. no job is too big or too small. This vacuum was easy to put together and within 30 minutes I was cleaning! It is perfect for mechanically challenged people like me! If you used the $50 vacuum like I have for years you will see a big difference in your cleaning capacity with this SHARK. Get it ! you won't regret it!

I love this vacuum cleaner. I finally can say no more need to go to the car wash for their vacuums because the suction with this vacuum is just as good as the car wash. Plus the accessories help the end result look even better then the car wash vacuums. I love how it works on my hard wood floors, rug, and the shaggy carpet in one room of the house it works great there too. I took it over to my moms house she has pretty much all carpet and she loves it. She said she never seen her carpets so clean. Pros: •Great suction •Glides across carpet and rugs (gently pulls you along) •Good hardwood floors •Lift away feature very helpful •Long cord •Accessories get just about every job done Cons: •The wand release is pretty sensitive and you can easily pull it out by mistake, only lift with lift away handle. •The vacuums pull can easily pull itself over the cord and eat through it some •The vacuum is on the heavy side you will be in for a serious work out on carpet especially.

This is simply the very best vacuum I've ever owned hands down! The lights help me see in dark areas like under the bed and the filters are easy to remove and wash. The upholstery attachment works great even though the beater is run by the air suction it does a great job. It's so easy to maneuver I could go on and on but you get the idea!
