Feature rich but door dud
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I like the dryer from the standpoint of being able to open it from top/down to move items from washer to the dryer more easily. However, I do not like the fact that the door when opened from the side will NOT stay open. You need to use your leg or other body part to hold the door open to remove clothes. As far as the features and drying ability, no issues.

Large capacity/dries fast
Bought LG dryer about a month ago with washer. Once I was shown how to use the timer option I love using my dryer. Dries quickly with this option. Very roomy. Not fond of the lint trap as it's a little bit of trouble to clean out but getting used to it. All in all very pleased!! Definitely recommend!
Hey Trisha. Sounds like your LG laundry duo is a perfect match! 😊 The timer option is a game-changer for quick, efficient drying, and the spacious design makes laundry day a breeze. We appreciate your feedback on the lint trap—it can take some getting used to, but these tips and tricks can help with maintenance: https://shorturl.at/4NIUg. Not user friendly
Do not recommend. I loved my previous LG set. I was able to select a mode, then customize the options to fit my needs. The only options available are what are preset and most are med/high heat settings. I have a lot of office work attire and baby clothes that all need low settings and this is just not an option unless you choose quick dry, but then you lose the sensing option and you can only time dry.
Hey Jay. It sounds like your new dryer isn't offering the customization you're used to, and it's definitely challenging when you can't select the lower heat settings needed for delicate items like office wear and baby clothes. We understand how important it is to have precise control over your drying cycles. Many of our newer models, while having optimized preset cycles, can often be customized further. You might find additional cycle options or ways to fine-tune settings through the LG ThinQ app's download cycles. This could provide the flexibility you're looking for: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-thinq-how-to-use-download-cycles--20152746918577 To help explore more options, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport with your dryer's model number and purchase date. New and confusing
This dryer is delightfully large; dries just as hoped; have only a few questions: why won't the door stay open so I can move clothes from washer with both hands? why is the top slanted instead of flat which eliminates one of my main sorting spaces in my pantry? and, most importantly, why did I have to call your 800 number in order to get a real operating manual, because what comes with the dryer installation is worthless.
Hello, Mary! We appreciate your fantastic 5‑star review of your LG dryer! It’s great hearing that the large capacity and strong drying performance are hitting the mark for you. The questions you raised are thoughtful ones — the door design is meant to prevent it from swinging freely during loading, and the slanted top is part of the dryer’s styling and safety design. We're also glad you reached out for the full LG operating manual, since having the complete guide makes exploring all the features much easier! For more feedback or questions, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. Thanks for choosing LG! #LifesGood ^James
does not dry!!!
Consumer Reports recommended this dryer, however, my clothes have not once dried, remaining damp when the damp cycle is at 0. Also, the controls are in black against black and are hard to read. This might be a dud washer or the operator is not cognizant on how to use this dryer. It would be nice to know how to operate this dryer so I don’t have to replace it.

Good Dryer, can't see the control panel too dim.
Control Panel is so dim that I am having to make labels so that we know what cycle to choose from. I've bought new lighting, turned off the lighting in the room; nothing helped it's just too dim. Dries very well but we cannot figure out what setting to put it on if we can't see the control panel. I would send back the washer and drier if they had a control panel that was printed.

Solid dryer but only opens left to right
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dryer works well but never thought it would be such an ordeal to switch the door and would probably not buy again as it has been such a pain in the rear, lots of calls and still no switching of the door.

Great features!
We bought an LG washer and dryer in 2023 and in 2024 decided to sell our house. The buyers wanted both items as they knew they were new with warranties on them. So, we had to buy replacements. We bought new AI washer and dryer set in 2024. We love the AI feature where we can just set it and the computer figures out how to wash or dry the clothes. Also, love the scheduling features too.
Hi Darren, thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. It’s great to hear that your LG 7.3 cu ft Ultra Large Capacity Rear Control Gas Dryer with EasyLoad Door and AI Sensing model DLG8401WE has been such a smooth upgrade. Moving from one LG set to another says a lot, and it’s good to know the AI features and scheduling options are making laundry easier in your new home. Having the dryer automatically adjust for each load is a real convenience, and it’s great that it fits your routine so well. No right side vent for gas models- stupid design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I searched specifically for dryers with side venting and when I went to install it, I found that gas models don't support right side venting. Not only that, but the gas line sticks out at the bottom right by 3", so I also can't rear vent and turn right with the pipe, which is the way I need to go. And even if the vent went somewhere else, I can't push the dryer up against the wall because the gas line sticks out so far rather than being mounted at an angle, or at least cut back closer to the back of the unit. I haven't been able to use it because I need to build some crazy venting contraption to hook it up.

Excellent dryer, so smart, easy to use, very quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have used dryer a couple of weeks & it's so smart, easy to use & quiet. The clothes are completely dry & not a wrinkled mess when done. The door can open side to side or from the top which is helpful when washing bid bulky items vs normal loads. Many options to choose from & shows time during each cycle. The one thing I'm not wild about is the top of the dryer is slanted, so stuff you put on top slides off.
