Having the older model also, the MX4 are a major improvement from the XM3. The sound and noise canceling abilities are far superior than the older model. The touch controls have also updated to not being so sensitive.

I figured it was time to try out a new pair. I've been very pleasantly surprised by how well this set of wireless noise-canceling headphones. Here are my favorite features: • REALLY long battery life. I wear these wireless noise-canceling headphones most of the day on conference calls and typically only need to charge them once a week. My other pair I had to charge nightly. • Comfort - These are very comfortable to wear -- even for extended periods. • Smart Control - I love that these automatically pause music/playback when you take them off. Ingenious! The gesture controls built in for volume are also a nice touch. • Adjustable EQ - You can adjust the playback to suit your needs. Highly recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Getting the attention of my family member to go deal with food in the kitchen or clean up their laundry used to be frustrating before I had them try these headphones. These have a special feature where it not only cancels out the noise, it auto-pauses their music when you interrupt or start having a conversation. If they take their headphones off, it also pauses. In trying to work from home, I am needing to work on spreadsheets much more and late at night. These help me focus on my work if my family member is watching TV. They also work when I need to focus on my work and don't want to hear my family member's loud music. My family member loves these so I plan to buy another pair for myself.

I’ve stuck to earbuds for the last however many years because I couldn’t use skull candy headphones with my iphone (the big ones were aux cord connected for the longest time). The charge on these bad boys lasts way longer than any set of earbuds I’ve ever had, the noise canceling feature is top-notch. I could be sitting next to a train and not hear anything.

I bought it a month ago and while my experience with them is good - all of the features are there, but the implementation of a lot of basic functions is pretty bad. Tap controls are often registered after third or fourth try and after headphones register it, the controls work just fine. This is definitely a bad optimization for battery saving. Chose one - physical buttons and battery optimization or touch controls and no battery optimization. You can't have both. "Pause when taken off" function isn't great either - it often starts playing when my headphones are around my neck. Turn on/off with button hold is a bad implementation (even if you must use the hold button, why is it so long? It's long enough so that it feels cumbersome and instead of instant turn on/off, it's an operation onto itself). Also, there is no way of seeing battery level while the headphones are charging which is laughable.

I was just excited about having comfy headphones that were wireless, but I am blown away with the noise canceling function of these!!! I can literally work in the midst of a full-on kids argument right next to me!! These really work folks! The set up is quick and easy and I love al of the customization through the app!! I even hooked these up to hear my tv through the noise!!! Thank you Sony!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] these headphones are everything! i am currently in school and spend a lot of time on my computer. i usually use my airpods but theses are even better for studying! i like how comfortable they are on my ears. dont get me wrong, I love my airpods for working out and other things but for long periods of time thesse work great! noise cancelling is amazing!

Bought a pair of these for my wife for her birthday and I loved him so much I bought a pair too and everybody that I speak to I refer them. Excellent battery life awesome sound quality we wear ours outside during yard work we also wear them while mowing on our ZTR the noise cancellation works great! I wish I could turn the volume up louder on the ambient aware would be the only thing I would change

The sound quality and response at low and high frequencies is beyond anything I have experienced in headphones prior. The application provides excellent curated noise cancelling, based on the environment I am in. If you enable location you can set different levels of noise cancelling based on where you are (office/home/park/coffee shop). The separation of sound allows you to experience the music the way it was recorded.The touch controls are very responsive. I love cupping the earpiece to activate the outside microphone for conversation. the music pauses automatically and I can clearly hear who is speaking and my response. I can also initiate this by talking. The battery life is extensive. I have used them for several work days (8am to 5pm) without charging. The headphones integrate with Alexa/google assistant seamlessly through my smartphone, allowing me to add all that functionality. phone calls are clear and everyone says they can hear me well.The ear cups are comfortable for extended wear and do a great job of sealing to my head, which provides wonderful noise cancelling and an immersive sound experience. My Vinyl collection sounds amazing. My TV sounds amazing.My Mp3 player - the same. being able to connect to two bluetooth sources at once is awesome. I can be connected to my home stereo and my Android phone simultaneously. This allows me to listen to my music and take calls without changing parings. They have thought of everything in these headphones. The only negatives if any are the included charging wire is short and the carrying case zipper appears fragile. Overall amazing quality and dynamite sound.
