The head cushion is so comfy , important to me love when things are comfy and quality. Five microphones for background noice cancellations. Love. The Sony app is easy and cool to use. Highly recommend the Sony App. I love that I don’t have to take off the headphones to speak with someone. I can just place my hand on the right ear cup while the music is playing, it will turn the music and noise cancellation off. I can immediately talk with someone. The speak to chat function is vital in my world. With family and pets. I just start talking while wearing the headphones, and it pauses the music and noise cancellation. I speak and then back to sound heaven. I love the understated design in matte black, the touch pad on the side cool and so easy to operate. Case is nice too.

Pros: Best ANC, usage comfort, features, battery - comparing to some mid level competitors like Sennheiser 4.5BT - there is no comparison at all honestly in Sonys favor. Cons: There is only one really. Phone calls in quiet environment are good but when there is quite noisy Sony doesn't cope well. Mics harvest too much ambient noise and people on the other side complaints very often. If Sony can fix this with firmware and isolate Your voice like Bose 700 can, it will be great! Unknown: will it be compatible with PS5...

My husband is an audiophile and has several pairs of expensive headphones and he says these are comparable to his other high end ones. They are very comfortable to wear, even for my husband who has a large head. They offer bluetooth or direct connectivity with a mini jack. Everything you need comes in the box - a protective case, USB cable for recharging and an audio cable. They pair easily. There is an app you can download, but you can also use them without the app. The app does offer additional controls for volume, pause, play and advance. In our experience, they charge quickly and the charge lasts us several days using them about an hour a day. If you value high quality sound, we highly recommend these headphones.

I loved the XM3s. I mean absolutely loved. They were a god send and really transformed audio for me. Noise cancelling: perfect. Comfortability: superb. The XM4 is almost no different. When it comes down to it, the audio is better, the mic is better, and I even loved the full matte finish more. BUT, I loved the surround sound settings on the XM3. You could make it sound like you were actually in a club or concert. I mean, amazing. I never saw features like that before. But with the upgrade, they are no longer available sadly. I really don’t understand why they were removed. I thought it brought so much life to audio. If this weren’t an issue, I’d definitely rate 5 stars. Not 5, 10.

I was very much looking forward to using the new headphones and taking advantage of some of the new features added with the XM4 such as multi device pairing and improved comfort. I have to say my initial excitement was only matched by my disappointment when I learned multiple device pairing requires LDAC to be disabled. I spend hours with headphones on every day due to lengthy web conferences and listening to music. My first conference call was met with complaints about my robotic voice or garbled speech. It was obvious to everyone I had an issue with my bluetooth headset. I tried changing almost every combination of setting to alleviate the issue. I ultimately ended up reverting back to my tried and true WH-1000XM3 and the WH-1000XM4 is on its way back to the store. It's too bad because I was expecting to recommend these to my employees and approve a few expense reports for them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These headphones by Sony are legit. I have never imagined such a sound experience. The are quality and also comfortable. They fit my big head but are also adjustable so my kids and wife can use them. I create music as a hobby and these have shown up all my old pairs of headphones. The noise cancelation is real and I can’t hear anything else but what comes from these. My kids even try to get my attention and I can see their lips moving but nothing else. The charge lasts a long time and I like the buttonless navigation on the earphone themselves. Power button is easy to locate and the usb type c cable input is right there too. Another great feature is the Voice assist function so I can hands free navigate when I need to. The carrying case it comes with is well made and convenient. There isn’t anything I don’t like about these.

Microphone and stereo audio dont work together. I like to play games with friends but I can't now because I will have to use the hands free calling as my stereo audio source to be able to hear them, but the audio quality is soo bad and distorted that I can barely make them out. for gaming, discord and meeting calls, it's not a good choice. These sound great for anything else though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really needed something wireless and simple to wear when working out, doing yard work and generally listening to music around the house and have had these for a few weeks now. Not having noise blocking headphones/earbuds drove me absolutely crazy while trying to concentrate or just not having to hear noises around me (especially outside). While these headphones are not total noise cancelling, they are great to keep most noise out; the noise I can hear is very muffled and the sound goes up to a nice level and does not hurt my ears. They are very comfortable as well around my head. Instructions are very straight forward and the headphones are very user friendly. Easy to charge and have a decent charging life. I am very happy with these.

I got my XM4s through an official Sony distributor and the service and logistics were great. The box arrived fully sealed and in perfect condition. The headphones are really beautiful and minimalistic. Mine are black ones, the case is really elegant and the charger and the 3.5mm cables are alright, although a bit short and flimsy. I own several pairs of headsets, but my purpose for these ones was to create a relaxing and comfortable reading environment wherever I decide to be in my noisy house or anywhere else. I was thinking that the bass was going to be overpowering but it's really engaging and balanced with the other frequencies. Definitely, they are not loud enough, requiring at least a 20% in volume to reach crazy party levels, but the reason for its existence is to have them for long hours on your ears as a detailed music companion and a disturbing noise cleanser. I'm also using them with a FiiO DAC/AMP Q5s and I can get the performance boost that I need. I haven't experienced any video lag with my tvs, tablet, laptop or phone, so I'm alright with the lack of AptX, although I would prefer to have that codec over many of the useless features. Overall, they are very pleasing to most ears and I definitely recommend them, but please, do not make them your only pair, because you'll need something more well-rounded and powerful for other music genres or for sweaty workouts.
