unusable audio when paired to windows10 laptop
these are awesome with android. the app works great. they fall apart on windows. the audio stutters almost constantly. if a product is priced this high, I'd expect thorough software design and verification. sony needs to write a decent windows driver, which can handle the inevitable occasional dropped bluetooth packets....

Make sure to update the software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. The communication between the devices will be poor if there is an obstruction between the unit and the connected device. Try the following: -Change the position or location of the unit or connected device. -If the connected device has a cover on it, take it off to improve the communication distance. -If the connected device is in a bag or in a pocket, try moving the position of the device. -Place the devices closer together to improve signal transmission You may try setting the Sound quality mode to Priority on stable connection and see if it resolves the problem. - Launch the Sony | Headphones Connect app. - Set the Sound quality mode to Priority on a stable connection. Bluetooth communications may be disabled, or noise or audio dropout may occur under the following conditions. -When there is a human body between the headset and the Bluetooth device -In places with wireless LAN, where a microwave oven is used, electromagnetic waves are generated, etc. -Use the headset at least 10 m (30 feet) away from the wireless LAN device or turn off the wireless LAN device. If you are enjoying music with your smartphone, the situation may be improved by shutting down unnecessary apps or restarting your smartphone. Connect the headset and the Bluetooth device once again. Great headphones

Fantastic features, but....
They are almost perfect, except for the fact that when I pair them to my 2018 and 2019 Samsung tvs, not only is there static, they lag pretty badly. This has continued even after I exchanged the first pair for a second pair and purchased a bluetooth transmitter, upon the Sony reps advice.

the first pair had a problem rugged sound and shutting down I quickly returned for the same item and they worked beautifully like the people say on utube and social media I am very pleased how the transactions with the agent to correct took place now that’s entertainiment.thanks

A simpleton’s review

Just a simple review to touch base for those arent “techy” and want to use it as an old fashioned headphone. I myself don’t use wireless headphones , yet fortunately this has that “wired” extension. Con is headphone has be charged with usb, so consider having your plug outlets with usb (simple inexpensive attachment to your wall outlet).

Fantastic!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our teenage son were gifted these, and he is really happy with them (not nearly as happy as we were to get back our Marlys...and a busted up Beats..do not recommend those for teens,) I would absolutely recommend these for parent that are struggling to instill the same kind of love we had for music in our formative years. These Sony's put out good sound, and are holding up better than past brands we have given him.

XM4 FTW! The New Kings
Wow Just Wow, Sony Finally Did It. You know its a good headset when you just have to buy two pairs, the only other headphone I got twice was the HD650. Not even the QC35, nor the 700's made it to the double list, the XM3 got purchased and those I returned the same day due to dummy sound and that dummy cloth touching your ear inside the ear cups. This here, truly is one of the best things of 2020. Good Job Sony! Good Job!

Great Noise Cancelling and sound: nearly flawless
I have been using these headphones for nearly three months now. They are excellent and work as advertised. I purchased these primarily for the noise cancelling and for calls and video conferencing working from home. They deliver. People are unaware I'm on a headset when I'm using them. Once they have been paired with a device, they connect to them automatically and quickly. I have a total of four devices paired with them and switching is seamless. I have only two minor issues with them: As others have reported: i have what I think are average sized ears but they touch the inner fabric of the cups regardless of how I adjust them. It's not a deal breaker, but it is annoying. Just a minor increase in depth would fix this. The other is with the lack of aptX and aptX Low Latency support. For me, this impacts the quality of my experience with Bluetooth transmitters connected from other devices such as my Sony television and Bluray player when watching and listening to movies or television programs. The latency delay is quite noticeable. I would like to appeal to Sony to include this Codec in a future firmware update.

Best headphones I ever used
I bought these 3 months ago CASE FEELS PREMIUM headphones FEEL like cheap plastic but these handle extremely well I used these for GAMING if you want to chat you can just buy a aux with mic on it because these aren't gaming headphones but once you hook up a adapter you get all the amazing features these headphones have to offer plus you can game and chat with friends I watched movies listened to music and I have to say after trying premium limited edition crushers from skull candy beats solo 3s pros studios this is the best headphones I have ever used battery literally last forever and highs and lows are seriously forgiving especially once you hook up the sony headphones app I literally have no complaints A 1UP would be if it had water resistant or sweat resistant capabilities but you can have TOO MUCH PREMIUM but have it be sensitive I love these

Not as good as everyone says
Bought them because there were one of the most recommended headphones on the market right now, with the top of the art noise cancelling feature, but it is just rubbish, the work like a normal pair of headphones, dunno if is just a problem with mines, taking them to a retailer to compare.

Adjust the headset into a comfortable position. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.
