I owned WH-1000XM3, and one of the features I like is to have different settings of sound from the Virtual Surround Sound. By setting it to Arena or Club this will boost the bass which makes big difference. The XM3 have a nice vibration to them that tingles your ears if your pump it to the max, that's sorely lacking in the XM4. Even though there is a default EQ which can be changed, the bass still lacking, very weak, and the feature of Virtual Surround Sound has been removed by Sony. There are plenty other people who have same opinion about this missing feature, and weak bass. I hope the Sony support will pass on this feedback and hoping with the new firmware or Headphones app update, Sony can bring back the Virtual Surround Sound or something similar.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried Sony's WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones and I was thoroughly impressed! Just putting on my ears. The noise cancelling is mind blowing. I love the ease of use with the controls. They are a bit tricky to get used to, but once you do, it's a snap. The comfort is truly amazing! I have very sensitive ears, and I have no issue with them. Truly amazing quality.

I got these today and wanted to love them. They aren't as loud as my old Beats. Sound quality and noise canceling is great, but I just wish they could go louder. I have downloaded the headphones app and tried every setting, but I still find it annoying they don't go quite loud enough.

Great product, received as a gift. Sound quality is excellent and this is the first time I have tried headphones with "hearable bass". The noise-cancelling is great when reading or performing daily routines (cleaning etc.). Althrough expensive, if you can afford it, then it is definitly worth a buy.

But then my wife got me these after listening to me complain about having to wear wired headphones and earmuffs while mowing on our acreage. I can't say enough good things about these headphones. This is my first pair of noise canceling headphones and they take the roar of my 27hp zero turn mower to a dull hum. It's unbelievable! I found them very easy to pair with a variety of devices (phone, TV, laptop) and the setup was very intuitive. The multi-purpose button is awesome and makes them customizable for whatever your intended usage might be. The ability to override the noise cancelling by holding your right hand over your ear creates a temporary passthrough to hear ambient noise is really handy when my wife is hollering and trying to get my attention. The last feature is the battery life. It's incredible. The instructions list it at 30 hours and I've been able to get a little longer than that at times. The charging time is very rapid as well. I'm a big fan of the case for storage as I have small children in my house that break stuff all the time. It makes traveling with these Sony headphones a breeze also. Guys, you need these headphones!

I purchased these headphones for the office. If I’m listening to music they are fantastic, best headphones I have used. The sound quality and noise canceling on the audio to your ear is top notch. However, the microphone noise canceling is near worthless. I need to have my office door closed or people on the phone can hear my co-workers from down the hall. Even after spending time fine tuning the headset with the app, the microphone problem didn’t improve. This did enhance the quality of the music I listen to however. If you like only listening to music, buy these. If you take phone calls in a noisy environment, get something different.

I always wanted a pair of headphones that would be able to cancel noise at the gym and wherever else I may go that often has a bustling atmosphere, and these do the perfect job. They have a sleek design that can be adjusted and fits comfortably on my head, and don't feel heavy or uncomfortable. It has a sleek and cutting-edge design that is brilliantly unique as well. Not to mention, the sound quality is pristine and has beautiful quality audio. I would listen to podcasts oftentimes before having these, but after using these while listening the experience is completely different- from better sound quality, to picking up small details in audio, this really does the trick. The extra features such as the multiple-device pairing and sound control have additionally made my experience so much better. I truly can't recommend these enough- definitely, a must-buy!

Even big ears such as mine I would say the only thing I did not like was the length of the charge cord it was literally like 2 inches long leaving you to have to leave your headpones next to the wall even a 3' cord would have been a little more beneficial I must add that using usb-c was a wise choice as many companies are refusing to let go of the micro USB which in my opinion has been long surpassed good job sony love the product

This is a first for him and an amazing buy! He uses them for his morning jog, mowing our lawn, etc! He is so happy to have these and I am SO happy that we have them! They have a 30 hour battery life and they are Bluetooth! What is even better is that ALEXA is built into the system! i would pick these over anything else that may be on the market at this time!

Headphones are good. I like the the sound and looks but the UX is a little bit lower then I expect. Mostly I use the headphones at home for work and play and in general I don't need the the "noice canceling" mode by default, I doesn't very like it. Every time when I turn on the headphones I need to click to times to turn off "noice canceling" and "noice control" that's annoying. Why my preference cannot be saved and every time when I turn on the headphones it's in the same mode which I turn it off? Is it hard to implement? I hope it can be fixed during coming updates. PLEASE! My little feature request :) Also I suggest in futures models separate the button for "turn off" and "connect to the new device" options. I switch very often between laptop and mobile and it also very annoying to press the button 7 second for connecting to the new device :) I hope my review was helpful.
