[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are amazing wireless noise-canceling headphones. When I had them on the first time I was blown away by the noise canceling. I couldn't hear the dishwasher, Air conditioner, busy intersection, or someone talking a few feet away. The sound quality of the headphones is phenomenal. The difference that the 360 reality audio makes is remarkable. Audiobooks sound great and music sounds amazing. Even movies and shows sound better with these on. With the noise-canceling and high-quality sound, movies can be very immersive. They are really lightweight and comfortable. The earpieces tilt and swivel in every direction, so you get a great fit that is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They could easily be used to meditate in a noisy environment. The battery will last 30 hours of music playback and you can get 5 hours of playtime with a 10-minute quick charge. I like the Hand-free calling and voice assistant integration, but the touch controls on the side of the headphones took me a little practice to get used to. Pairing is painless and my wife and I can easily swap who's using them with what devices without any trouble. Really impressed with these headphones.

Pros: - Sound is more refined - Bluetooth 5 gives me the 8-12’ of extra distance from devices that I needed. - Connecting to the TV and iPhone at the same time is very useful. Whichever device is sending audio gets auto-selected. Better auto-connection to devices when first turned on. - Noise Cancelling is ~20-30% better with a side to side comparison. - Can be listening to TV and get a phone call from 2nd device. CONS: - Battery seems to fade faster (~10-15% faster than XM3) but probably due to the 2 added mics, extra bluetooth signal, bluetooth strength, and deeper, fuller sound quality. - Even with the new superior Bluetooth 5, some TVs (ex. 2015 Samsung LED) have continual audio glitches. (Not the headphones fault but rather a Samsung problem that may occur on other TVs as well). Love the updated XM4s and can’t wait to see the XM5s improve on the battery. Perhaps offer a second upgrade padding for we people with big heads and big ears.

They come with a charging cable, a really nice case, a 3.5mm cable, and an airplane adaptor. The headphones themselves have an extremely premium feel in the hand, they are made of a nice matte plastic that feels smooth and soft. The ear cups are very large and fit over my ears quite nicely. they are comfortable to wear all day without any problems or irritation. The sound is the best you will find on a pair of closed-back consumer oriented over ear headphones, and if you are unsatisfied you just have to install the Sony Headphones app and you can play with lots of settings like the equalizer and the amount of ambient sound that you want to let in. I use the app and find it very useful and simple to use. The bass is deep and the mids and highs can be great if you work with the equalizer and the type of music you are listening to. In my experience it sounds best to boost the mids and highs in the app. The noise cancellation is where these headphones excel. They have world class noise cancellation and I really like how well it works. Walking down a busy street with people and cars whizzing by and you can be listening to your music undisturbed. Of course you will still hear the cars and the people but the sound reduction is very significant. The right ear cup is where the controls are located. Cover the ear cup and you can talk and hear people. Swipe forward=skip track, swipe backward=go back a track, double tap in the middle=pause the song. While walking and listening to a new playlist these gestures are a breeze and quite convenient to use. I really enjoy these headphones and they work wonderfully for my needs. They are very well made and pretty simple to use. I would definitely recommend them and I am very happy with them.

The case is slim and can fit lots of places, I appreciate this so much. The headphones fold up nice and easy to fit in the slim case. Lastly the sound quality is comparable if not better to other trendy brands and I cannot hear a thing when I wear them! The app makes it easy to set up as well. Awesome all around.

The head cushion is so comfy , important to me love when things are comfy and quality. Five microphones for background noice cancellations. Love. The Sony app is easy and cool to use. Highly recommend the Sony App. I love that I don’t have to take off the headphones to speak with someone. I can just place my hand on the right ear cup while the music is playing, it will turn the music and noise cancellation off. I can immediately talk with someone. The speak to chat function is vital in my world. With family and pets. I just start talking while wearing the headphones, and it pauses the music and noise cancellation. I speak and then back to sound heaven. I love the understated design in matte black, the touch pad on the side cool and so easy to operate. Case is nice too.

They feel on your ears don’t cause much fatigue and they seem pretty durable though I didn’t get to put it through too much of a wear and tear situation. I am very much looking forward to using these on my next flight

Headphones are good. I like the the sound and looks but the UX is a little bit lower then I expect. Mostly I use the headphones at home for work and play and in general I don't need the the "noice canceling" mode by default, I doesn't very like it. Every time when I turn on the headphones I need to click to times to turn off "noice canceling" and "noice control" that's annoying. Why my preference cannot be saved and every time when I turn on the headphones it's in the same mode which I turn it off? Is it hard to implement? I hope it can be fixed during coming updates. PLEASE! My little feature request :) Also I suggest in futures models separate the button for "turn off" and "connect to the new device" options. I switch very often between laptop and mobile and it also very annoying to press the button 7 second for connecting to the new device :) I hope my review was helpful. In general the headphones are great just fix the small UX issues and they will be the best! Thanks!

Audio quality is solid but be prepared for a lifetime of software issues. Settings changing CONSTANTLY for no reason and threads all over the internet related to the crackling/choppy audio issues that are 100% software related. I'd be disappointed if I bought this headset for $50, muchless what Sony has the audacity to charge.

I downloaded the app and paired very quickly with my cell phone. The charge lasts a really long time for wireless headphones and they charge really fast. The noise cancelling is amazing. I used on a plane, in the airport, walking on the sidewalk, and at home. I guess the headphones automatically adjust to your environment, which is really cool. The sound was great in all these environments. I also used the headphones to take phone calls and they worked well. I also like the the music on the headphones pauses when you take them off. Great sound, easy to use, great tech, and quality product.

I needed zero noise leak and high noise cancelling and these deliver. Like I can still hear the baby crying, but my podcasts aren't being drowned out by it you know? Its made my me time so much less stressful. Plus the sound quality is great and they're comfortable to wear. One thing though- Sometimes I get pressure in my eardrums when I wear them
