NEEDS some important software updates.
I got these for christmas back in 2020. early on these were wonderful, the sound quality is amazing, the touch controls were convenient, and the setup was simple and effective, HOWEVER there are some software features these NEED if i am to reccomend these to anyone. Speak to chat will turn on randomly even if i have the feature turned off in the app. The amount of times im watching content or listening to music only to have it stop because of this "feature" that i have TURNED OFF is infuriating. They also NEED to let us choose what touch controls WE WANT. I only personally care for the volume control and skip track features but there are multiple additional controls that i dont want to use. The extra controls would be nice IF they were optional but instead it's all or nothing. I would love to reccomend these to everyone but these issues make me hate using these things. Even just google searching the speak to chat issue brings up tons of forum posts and threads of people with the EXACT SAME ISSUES.

Your feedback about selecting specific touch functions is greatly appreciated. It unfortunate that the Speak-to-Chat function is not working properly. Make sure to install the latest software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. Resetting and initializing the headset may help resolve the issue: Resetting the headset -Press both the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously while charging. The headset will be reset. The device registration (pairing) information is not deleted. If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings. Initializing the headset -Turn off the headset while the USB Type-C cable is disconnected and then press and hold the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more. The indicator (blue) flashes 4 times, and the headset is initialized. This operation resets volume settings, etc. to the factory settings, and deletes all pairing information. In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and then pair them again. If still not resolved, please email the below information to socialsupport@am.sony.com. Fits well and comfortable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of the Sony WH-1000xM4 headphones is 8/10. I like the noise cancelling feature. The sensory touch is also cool to use. I do however do not feel too much of a difference when it is optimized. The quality of the box it comes in isn't as great though.

AMAZING!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a gift for my husband’s birthday! When I say he was not disappointed! He has never had a great pair of noise canceling headphones! This is a first for him and an amazing buy! He uses them for his morning jog, mowing our lawn, etc! He is so happy to have these and I am SO happy that we have them! They have a 30 hour battery life and they are Bluetooth! What is even better is that ALEXA is built into the system! i would pick these over anything else that may be on the market at this time!

Best headphones I've had so far
Very much enjoying the headphones so far. They seem to do well with Jazz music (my music preference), but haven't been able to use them with every genre I listen to (just haven't tested them with others I'm sure they'll be great). Love the long battery life, certainly a plus for me with the 4 hrs on airpods pro.

Excellent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has excellent noise cancellation and using it outside for runs on my long walks are definitely beneficial to me. I would definitely recommend for anyone that’s looking for once I get it because it’s very light weight and it fits into my bag once it’s folded so it doesn’t take up my space

Excellent Headphones!

The bluetooth transfer quality is also excellent. Prefer these to the in the ear headsets. Much better for your hearing. Padding is comfortable as well. Not too heavy.

Love these!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have airbuds that I use for convenience, but of course the quality of sound is still affected by surrounding noise. I use them mostly to listen to podcasts or audio books while I am working around my house and to answer phone calls. I am amazed at the difference these noise-cancelling headphones make. I can vacuum, be running the dishwasher or cooking with the exhaust fan on and I can still hear very clearly what is being broadcast. I do have a slight hearing loss so these headphones have improved my ability to hear every word much more than just the earbuds. The other thing that I appreciate about these is their range. While I am working I can go out to my garage and grab something, go upstairs, move around from room to room and not have a disconnection with my phone. Such an improvement over the earbuds. I have not had a chance to use them on an airplane, but I am sure that I will not be dissappointed! They were extremely easy to set up the connection to my phone another,plus for these headphones.

Great sound quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are amazing headphones. First, they are super comfortable. I like that the padding is soft on my ears and they aren't at all hot or sweaty. The band is comfortable as well, fitting snugly but not so tight that it would hurt an average sized head. I had no problem setting up the app, and when I paired the bluetooth with my computer it was quick and easy. Of course, the sound is what's important, and I find these to have clear, crisp sound and the noise cancelling feature works perfectly. Another plus is that you can just use them as regular wired headphones if you just want to plug them into something that doesn't have bluetooth. I love that, because sometimes I'm using an older device that needs "regular" headphones I feel like these are great quality, work well and have the versatility to use with bluetooth or with a wire. I recommend them.

Multiple Device Support . Perfection. Headphones

The head cushion is so comfy , important to me love when things are comfy and quality. Five microphones for background noice cancellations. Love. The Sony app is easy and cool to use. Highly recommend the Sony App. I love that I don’t have to take off the headphones to speak with someone. I can just place my hand on the right ear cup while the music is playing, it will turn the music and noise cancellation off. I can immediately talk with someone. The speak to chat function is vital in my world. With family and pets. I just start talking while wearing the headphones, and it pauses the music and noise cancellation. I speak and then back to sound heaven. I love the understated design in matte black, the touch pad on the side cool and so easy to operate. Case is nice too.

Prefer the Sony wh1000xm3 to the new ones
I bought the xm4 a few days after the release , I expected better quality than the xm3 but I was disappointed. The feature for surround sound vpt setting was removed and that was one of the best feature in my opinion. If they release an update in which they can be used again I would rate these headphones the best yet. Hopefully they’ll be an update soon. Design was also not as good compared to the xm3 it has more a matte finishing and not as comfortable feel as the previous generation. Overall I would have stuck with the xm3
