Right Ear ANC started making fluttering noises

I bought this 3 months ago and for the first month or so it was performing great but now the ANC has started making more staticky noises that are not usual. It only happens with the right ear of headphones and starts making fluttering noises that were significantly louder in comparison to the left ear.

I LOVE SONY PRODUCTS, AND HAVE ALWAYS PURCHASED SONY PRODUCTS. I HAD SONY WIRELESS BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES THAT I LOVED. BUT THEY DISAPPEARED AND NEVER FOUND. I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER HEADPHONE SET... BUT WHEN I USE THEM FOR MY PHONE, "HANDSFREE" PEOPLE CAN BARELY HEAR ME. THE BLUETOOTH WORKS BUT THE SOUND AND CONNECTION IS POOR AND TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTING. NOT THE SAME.

Make sure to install the latest software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.<br /><br />During a call, the HFP (Hands-free Profile) or HSP (Headset Profile) profile is used and you do get to use the headset&#39;s microphone this way. Please note that sound quality may become low due to the conditions of the communication line and you will notice a bit of quality difference.<br /><br />Bluetooth wireless communication range or Sound interruption may occur in the [AUTO] (Priority on sound quality) mode, depending on the setting of your BLUETOOTH device and ambient conditions. Absolutely Love them

I have only owned these headphones for a short time but I absolutely LOVE them. I"m already addicted to them. .lol. To me the music sounds even better than being at a concert. It's all there the bass guitar and drums sound awesome. I love to hear the symbols to and the highs sound just as good as the bass. To talk to someone all you have to do is speak and the music will kick off and you can hear plain as day and when your finished talking they kick right back on. I looked for about two months off and on, reading reviews all over the net and kept coming back to these and I finally pulled the trigger and bought them. I'm very happy I got these and not something else. I'm not into writing reviews but I looked for so long before I made up my mind that I hope this helps someone that is doing the same.

Noise cancellation Worked Well, Fragile...

These headphones worked as intended and I feel did a great job cancelling noise and worked great for music and online meetings for work which was my biggest use. However after two months they broke placing them on my head. No, I don't have a big head and I wasn't rough with them. They appear to have a weak spot in them. maybe they fixed this with the newer version. As you can see by the photo I had probably only put them on my head about 30 times.

keeps disconnecting

loses signal %26 shuts off music player. player is 2 foot away from headphones. Disconnects at random rimes. usually 2-3 songs into listening session. NOT a phone/player issue. ALL other headphones work without this issue, including Dr Beats Pro, Studio 3, Skullcandy etc. Sony has had this issue with these for over 3 years (according to reviews when searching for "disconnecting issues.") Sony has not addressed the problem. I have most recent software (firmware) updates fot this product. It's a shame. I was a recording engineer for 20 years (in major Studio.) Sony was always reliable. These were the closest to a flat freq. curve. Even after "optimizing" for my ears, the before was a flat curve AND the after was a flat curve. I prefer a Flat curve output %26 then adjust to MY preferred EQ. These were the closest to True Audio (not tweaked with BASS or Vocal etc.) However, with the Disconnecting issue, these phones are Useless to me %26 will be returned. Maybe the 1000XM5's are better, but at $399 they are over priced, as are ALL wireless Noise Cancelling fones, including Dr Beats, Skullcandy, Bose etc. ALL others had issues with TRUE audio. Audio was "shaped" to sound "better." Not the True audio produced by the engineer. I know what that sounds like. I have had many original mixed final 2 track original masters in my hands (including all Beatle final disc masters with George Martin's original notes.) Quite a thrill for a Recording Engineer. These headphones are GOING BACK. Still on a search for a good pair of headphones.

Didn't work a full year.

I absolutely loved these at first, the quality seemed spectacular and legitimately life-changing. But they suffer from a common failure which leads to an extremely high-pitched and hearing-damaging squealing sound issuing unexpectedly from one side or the other. A quick search online shows this failure was not uncommon on the previous version as well. That being said, if you disable the feature, the headphones remain usable and are otherwise of good quality.

I got them for my birthday and they're worth all approximately 350 dollars! They're lightweight and comfortable and the battery life and quality are both outstanding. I loveeee them, 10/10 would recommend. They're good looking too, not bulky looking, they have a very clean, classy look to them. I wired them up to the headphone jack of my wireless xbox controller and had no trouble with them then. They come in a slick looking carrying case with space for the headphones and cord and charger/adapter for planes. I can not overstate how much I really love these headphones. The noise cancelling is pretty amazing to me. Makes focusing on studying muchhhh easier for me since I'm very sensitive to sound and noise distraction.

Disappointed

My friend has them and told me not to get them, but I wanted them really bad so I didn’t listen (spoilers, I should’ve). Sound wise, they are average. Sound cancelation wise, they are more than excellent. So if you only listen to music, podcast, videos, etc, then they aren’t terrible (if we ignore the price tag). But if you will be using them for zoom calls, ft, or any activity that would require using the microphone, I wouldn’t recommend. I will say, they are elegant. I returned them and in the process I found out that Sonys customer service exceptional.

Charging port almost caught fire

I went to unplug my headphones from charging and burned my finger. The headphones melted around the charging port and was smoking. I have taken very good care of my headphones and there was no reason for this to happen. Very disappointed and I’m out of headphones. I don’t know what to do.

I purchased these headphones to use while talking on the phone during meetings. So far no one can hear me clearly while I am wearing the headphones. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I did my research that these came very highly rated from a number of reputable tech websites. However, since I am not able to use them while talking on the phone they are TOTALLY USELESS AND A WASTE OF MONEY.
