Excellent!! The unit came sooner than expected, thank you Walmart.
The generator came nicely packed, was easy to put the wheels on, and, once everything was set, it fired right up. I have faith in Westinghouse.
My area is looking at an icing event, Im excited I have backup for power.

- 5 out of 5 stars review12/17/2020This generator packs a lot of power and the electric start is a must-have!! Can easily be maneuvered by one person; however, it does weigh 107 pounds w/o fuel, so I'd recommend two people when lifting or lowering from an elevated surface. Great value and highly recommend.
Great Generator
Cntry234Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/25/2020I just got this as a Christmas present. It was really easy to assemble (very little assembly required) and easy to set-up. After a few pulls of the rope, the generator started right up. It's not as loud as some generators I've heard. We are thankful that the next time a storm strikes we'll be ready.
Easy to assemble and get started!
RobCOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/7/2020I just purchased this generator due to recent power failure from a storm I had borrowed a smaller generator to save our food in the refrigerator and this one is quieter than the smaller one. No problems at this time starts and runs fine. I love the electric start.
Great features
Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review1/11/2024This was a good price for all the features you get. It was easy to set up and this model came with a wheel kit. Many others don't. It seems sturdy and is heavy, so you need wheels to be able to move it. We had to cut the box just to get it out. We haven't run it yet but did a lot of research on portable generators and this has enough power for running our refrigerator and some minor appliances during a power outage. The blue and black color looks nice too.
Quality company at reasonable price
JoyArtOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/13/2020I bought this generator to supply power at home for the occasional outage. Large refrigerator freezer, small refrigerator, microwave, internet for phone, and lights. As someone that has worked with machinery and engines most of my adult life, I appreciated the quality, sturdy construction, and fit and finish of this product. I have read the instructions (well written), added the oil and gasoline and proceeded to begin the break-in period. Easy start and runs strong. I have confidence this will meet my future needs
Well built
Nilo15Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/15/2021I did d a lot of research before purchasing the WGen5300s, it had tons of great reviews across the internet. I am very happy with its size and various outlets. One of the best features is the electric start it's so easy my 10 year old starts it up no problem. Check out this generator if you are looking for solid performance at a realistic price.
Compact Size, Plenty if Features and Super Price
WTXWildliferOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/2/2020Beautiful machine, great quality build, my favorite part is how compact this generator is, it fits in the bed of my truck with the cover over the bed and has more than enough power to operate our jack hammer on the job or our house in a storm. 10/10!
Bang for buck!
HD Seal & StripeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/25/2023Bought this generator knowing it weighed 148#, was hoping I would be able to move it where needed when the time comes. Widow lady with a bad back and this thing is so well balanced that it is no problem at all. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, hopefully never will, but glad I have it after the last outage. Thanks for a great generator!
Great choice, perfect size
2corgizOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review1/15/2024We bought unit (serial number 53FO823B2734) on 11-11-23 which did not produce power. Westinghouse replaced that unit with this one which seems to be running fine as we have tested it and are breaking it in. Please update your records to show new serial # 53DO723B304. We did not receive the cover yet. Please send that.
Has all the features we need.
Rick10Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/2/2023I bought this generator this week and love it. The price point compared to other brands was competitve and has a greater running and peak watt rate. Also love that it is dual gas and propane incase you do not have access to one. The wheels and handle make it very eay to roll around to get into a proper position for powering things up. Would buy again!
G5300W Portable Generator, Great Buy and Reliable
OP1989Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/18/2020Perfect experience. It comes with the tools needed to put the wheels on and then some. A little bag is included to store them in! Oil is included! Plus the battery (for electric start) self charges when it is running. Not all generators do that believe it or not. I couldn't be happier with how Westinghouse thought of everything. Sounds crazy but I can't wait for the power to go out again so I can just smirk at Mother Nature as I push a button to start our new generator.
Awesome features
John28Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/5/2021After spending a lot of time online researching portable generators, I selected this one because of the electric start and connection options. I am thrilled so far with my choice. I received it ten days after placing my order. No problem putting on the legs and wheels even though it weighs more than I do. Three days later we had a power outage. I connected to the manual transfer box and start it right up!
Lots of extras!
BisellaOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review10/16/2020Generator is heavy (expected), so I highly recommend cutting the box at the corners. This will also make set up easier. Setup was very straight forward. Got it started and checked voltages with a multimeter to confirm proper operation. Compared to other generators that I have used, this one is on par with some of the more expensive ones regarding consistent power output. The power output for this one is more than we needed and even runs my domestic water heater (Rated @ 4500w) which is the largest load that I have to run (even if it is just by itself). Recommend it for house power during outages (intended use for me). Pros: Easy set up, easy maintenance, easy to use. Options for electronic start or manual start. Enough power to run al...
Simple setup, Great features
fgabrOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/5/2020Purchased this generator to be able to run 240 volt water pump during power outages. Much better unit than I expected. Well built, good looking and compact design. This is first 120/240 volt generator I have owned, and by the looks of it , it may well be the last. "VERY PLEASED WITH PURCHASE"
GREAT GENERATOR
WOLFEELOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review11/9/2020I bought this during a freak ice storm where we lost power for 11 days. This arrived on day 5 and got us through to the end. Everything works as it should. One complaint in the design--in order to change the oil, you have to unscrew a metal screw at the bottom of the oil tank. Problem is the frame is in the way and if you manage to get the screw out, you can't get it threaded straight to get it back in because of it. I had to get the frame off in order to do so, which was a nightmare. So I guess the next oil change will take more than a few hours since I won't be able to get the screw all the way out again, since it will take longer for the oil to drain. Terrible design flaw. Otherwise, generator works consistently and easily.
Came through in an emergency, works great
Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/6/2020I followed the instructions perfectly...added 10w-30 oil...added unleaded gas. I let it run for an hour and then hooked up my RV. I turned everything on. Handled it like a champ. It's not a quiet generator, but it's not hard to build a sound box. Great bang for your buck
Follow directions and it's a beauty
cruecuOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review10/2/2020Overall solid generator for the frame size. We purchased this one over the next step up due to the big jump in weight. My wife didn't like the idea of moving a generator almost 200 lbs. This one has good power, easy to move around, and the electric start makes it a snap to get up an running. Only took 10 minutes to install the feet/wheels, put the oil in (funnel & oil included, thank you), and connect the battery. The only reason for not giving this 5 stars is due to a couple minor non-functional/cosmetic issues. There a scratch on the blue front panel that was touched up with non-matching paint and the rubber feet are not at the same level so one pad is off the ground. On one of the feet the metal bend seemed off and when torqueing th...
Solid Generator Package
DaveZ33Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/9/2024Generator arrived undamaged, directions easy to follow, no tools needed. Added the supplied oil, some gas and it started right up. Nice functionality on the connector panel, both 220 and 120V outputs (you can't use both at once though, there is a switch).
Easy to get going
JamesinNHOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/18/2024I just received my Generator and ready to go in about 45 minutes. Westinghouse even supplied a tool bag with the tools needed. A quart of oil plus funnel to make easier and cleaner to fill it. My previous generator, which was only 2 years old and destoryed by a flood, you had use the recoil cord to start. This model comes with a battery so with flick of a switch its on. great feature.
easy setup and nicely labelled
Hank7153Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/19/2021Needed a generator after our last died. As luck would have it, we didn't need it for over a year. Was really afraid that when I started it up for the first time after storing it for that long that it wouldn't start. Three easy pulls later (and I mean easy), it fired up and purred like a kitten. Vast improvement over my last generator.
Simple to Use, Easy start
