Excellent!! The unit came sooner than expected, thank you Walmart.
The generator came nicely packed, was easy to put the wheels on, and, once everything was set, it fired right up. I have faith in Westinghouse.
My area is looking at an icing event, Im excited I have backup for power.

- 5 out of 5 stars review8/10/2024Great unit, has enough power for what I need when the power goes out, it's quieter than my older Ryobi model also. Packaging was great, easy assembly of wheels, comes with a small screw in funnel and oil for a fresh fill. Started right up, pretty easy.
Impressive Unit
MortimusOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/30/2020I ordered this unit as part of my emergency preparedness for this coming storm season. Place the order on may 24th and it was promptly delivered via fed ex 9 days sooner than expected. The packaging was intact with minimal dings and such. Hardware was easy to assemble and instructions and for start up as well as the machines warranty info and manual were concise yet easy to read. Powerful for its size, it runs everything I need and could add more if we're necessary.. I especially love the run time on such a small tank of fuel. I could not be more satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it
Great price for a great product.
dreemsleepOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/18/2020This generator is quality thru & thru with more features for less money then the competition. From the the heavy duty engine & wheel kit to the little things like outlet covers & a screw in oil funnel. Clearly the best generator for the price & then some!
Just What I Was Looking For!
Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/18/2021Just purchased this, appears very well made. tested and runs smoothly, low vibration and not overly loud. Wanted the 220 V option which this has. great value for this wattage and options. have not run for extended time or heavy use so cannot comment as of yet on that
Nice generator, excellent value
John GaltOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/25/2020Easy to follow directions and simple initial set-up. Started right up and ran flawlessly for half hour. I had only added a little bit of gasoline to the tank and so engine quit when fuel was consumed. Directions advise running for 1-hour before hooking up any devices. I'll add more fuel and run longer today.
So far, so good!
new w5300s ownerOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/29/2020As a lifelong mechanic and 25 yr. aircraft mechanic, initial build and first 5 hr. run while attempting to energize two RV's were quite successful. Quality rubber mounting system for shock absorption. Very neat, well engineered and appears very solidly built. For the money, it provides a great cost ratio for the wattage it provides. Appears to be a very good purchase after a month of reading endless reviews and opinions and plenty of math...
Solid build
Treailer OneOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/9/2020I bought this unit after a 3day power outage from hurricane Zeta for the next emergency. the unit was easy to set up and cranked on the first pull. Ran it it for about one half hour and it was smooth and relatively quiet. I hope that having it will be insurance against future prolonged outages.
FIRST PULL
TimAUOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/4/2020Purchased to use as back-up power during hurricane season and our frequent power outages. This is the perfect size for powering what we need to operate to get through a power outage and be comfortable. Its compatable with our transfer switch making life easy
perfect for back-up power
jw3037Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/5/2023After looking at many different generators my husband said this is exactly the one for us. It has enough watts for our needs. Starts easily on the first pull or instantly with the electric starter switch. Legs and wheels were very easy to install. Good price
Perfect for out needs
Paul14Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/27/2022I just brought ran Break in hour. Then hooked up to the camper turned on all the power (AC,Lights,Water pump, Both Refrig, Water heater and TVs) did not even pull it down. The setup was easy thanks for the funnel it helped. Started on third pull, it did need a few minutes of rough running then smoothed out and ran the 1 hr of break in with no load.
New Generator
Jason_riverCamperOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/25/2020I just bought this on-line a few weeks ago, and am very pleased with this product overall. It has the power needed to keep all of the key components of our home running during a prolonged power outage, and it was super easy to set up and get running. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, even for a first-time buyer of a generator.
Would definitely recommend!
Wahlberg89Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/2/2021I bought this generator for when we go camping and to power the essentials in the house when we lose power. This benefits the bill perfectly. The never flat wheels with bearings and the handle make it so much easier to tote around compayto my old generator.
Everything I was looking for!
HandyAndy65Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/21/2021Bought this generator a few months back as part of an earthquake preparedness plan. It sat in the box until the recent polar plunge when I lost power for three days. I was able to unpack it and get it running in 20 minutes!! It worked like a champ and I was surprised with how little fuel it used. The electric start does not work but that could be because I need to charge the battery separately. (No instructions in the manual regarding that.) However, the manual start works perfectly. So no complaints.
Savior during the recent ice storm
ChipGuyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/13/2020I purchased for powering my home when there is power outage. It seems to fit the bill, I hope not to use it until and outage, not in the awhile. Put it together in no time, hooked up battery, filled with oil provided, and gas. Started right up, and runs well as I break in the engine while not under a load. I also do construction work in areas where there is no power, it runs the equipment with no problem. Saws, compressors, lights all can be used. Light and compact so it is easy to move. construction site.
Clean, compact, and packaged well.
Wojo49Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/14/2023While this is heavy, rolls easily on the wheels furnished. While this is a complex machine, the instructions are very clear and understandable. Very simple to start. I use it to furnish power to a small building, as needed. In order to meet code, please have a certified electrician hook this generator to a building. A detachable hook-up cord does not come with the generator.
Very easy to use
CoachclydeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/25/2024I've only had this generator for a week now. Assembly was very easy. Added oil,gas and connected the battery and it started right up. Limited use but it powered a Dewalt circular saw and Dewalt miter saw (as a test) with ease. Seems to be well built and sturdy. This was purchased mainly to operate a sump pump in the event of power outages. My decision to purchase this Westinghouse generator was based on the number of positive reviews from other owners.
Quick and easy to setup
phillip58Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/30/2021With just a little work, this was ready to go as soon as the box opens. Love the different amp options, the long run time of 14.5 hours, the carbon monoxide sensor, and the peace of mind this machine offers. This is more than enough to run our essential items when (not if) the power is cut off because of inclement weather.
Great Features!
Muse19Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/7/2024My daughter and son-in-law were telling me how pleased they were with their recently purchased 5300SC generator. With the start of hurricane season here, I thought it was a good idea to have one of my own. As I am 96 years young, the electric start feature will definitely come in handy! It is ready to go should it be needed! Thank you. Westinghouse!
My new 5300SC !!
Roger DodgerOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/6/2024In anticipation of possible hurricanes coming to Florida, we purchased the Westinghouse WGen5300cv generator. It was simple to start, and instructions on preparing it for use were straightforward. The generator started on the first try. Very impressed, and while I don't look forward to ever using it, I am glad we bought it.
GENERATOR EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS
DRQ1Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/21/2023Westinghouse manufactured a generator that was exactly what I was looking for. Other manufactures had generators with to low or high voltage output and yours was perfect as well as the price. Putting it together, setting it up with the tools you provided made it easy.
Great Features
