We've had the generator a short time, but so far it has lived up to our expectations. Easy to assemble, easy to operate and move from place to place.

Sadly, mine tends to run a little rough and noisy when loads come on and off even with only half load. Does not seem normal. It arrived in an almost totally demolished box with only 1 nylon strap and bottom was completely broken open. Delivery folks recorded the damage in there system for me. I hope it gets better after a short break-in period and more oil changes.

We were extremely disappointed when we discovered that within a minute or less of being started it shuts off. Neighbors tried to help but to no avail, even someone who is good with small engine repairs tried to get it started. They suspect there may be an issue with the carburetor. This is brand new and with all the great reviews we are disappointed to be sitting here without power.

The biggest disappointment was the manual and quick start guide were missing. I know I can get the manual online but that's not the point. I had to go online to view the manual to see how to install the wheels and stands and add the oil and since I paid for the manual it should be included. A little more quality control would resolved this issue.

After break in, seems to carry a load @ 120 volts ok. Need to get a plug to test 240 side.Instructions could be a little clearer in that you need to cut the zip tie on the battery connection and connect it.other than that it starts, it runs, it makes power, I'm happy!
Don't know if I need the Hi altitude pac.

Very pleased with my purchase. It started with only 2 pulls on the first time. I love the handle and wheels, makes it so easy to move around. The noise level is average compared to my old generator. This will run everything in my camper including Microwave and AC. Great Purchase!

I enjoy my Westinghouse Pressure Washer so choosing Westinghouse again for our generator made sense. The unit is well built and not too big that my wife couldn't move it around on the wheels if necessary. We hope to never have to use it but know we'll be able to depend on this generator if needed.

Like some other reviews, upon unboxing found the alternator end cap to be badly dented. Listening for noise while slowly pulling starter, then checking under the cap for any shorts or other damage all was good. Believe the damage occurred prior to being boxed as there was no damage to any of the shipping materials. Filled crankcase with the supplied oil and added recommended gasoline. Turned on fuel supply valve then let sit for a minute to prime the carburetor bowl and check for leaks, all good. Switched on engine control switch and set choke. One slow pull to find TDC, then a solid pull and the unit quickly came to life. Ran unloaded for the recommended one hour break in. At first the freq...

The only issue I would like to share with everyone is that the Electric Start may not work in the first time because the battery does not have power. You have to use Manual Start and let the engine run for a while to charge the battery. I hope the other models may not have such problem. In general, it works when I try today.

As I approach 60 years of age, I'm finding it difficult to pull start my 35 year old generator. After a fair amount of research, I bought this WGen5300c. The electric start was my main consideration. It's slightly more powerful than the old one, it's a smaller overall size and it has some nice added features such as fuel gauge, digital multifunction display and a wheel kit. Even the 220v is a higher amp. Almost looking forward to the next power outage.

It has an easy pull start, you don't need a battery or worry about it being charged. I chose the gas only version over propane because unless you have a stationary tank, you still need to stop any generator in order to switch fuel type, you would need to take care of the additional propane tank, and running on propane reduces the maximum wattage. Other features included that other generators at this price don't have: roll cage, wheels, digital gauge with voltage, frequency, hours, and use timer.
