- 5 out of 5 stars review11/3/2020This generator came and the only thing I had to do was put on the wheel kit (very simple). Super easy to move around with the handle and wheels. Added oil (provided) and gas then connect the battery (simple quick connect). Then push the button and it started right up. I would definitely recommend this product.

The setup brochure was easy to follow and tools and oil were provided. Within minutes the feet were mounted, wheels installed, oil added using the spout provided. Then it was adding fuel and pulling the cord. Started on the first pull. Zero problems. Now it's ready and waiting for when storms knock out my power.

I hope I don't have to use it too soon and experience a power outage, but it and when it comes, I have no doubt whatsoever that it will provide everything I expect our of it. With the 5300 running watts, it will provide power to those items I wish to have power during a black out. I have found out during my 80 years of life that Westinghouse is a valid and dependable name. I have no hesitation in saying that this equipment will do the job.

After the 1 hour unloaded break-in and then 30 minutes using light loads we went up on the roof with 2 large leaf blowers and it handled that easily. Tree pruning, Blowers, EChainsaw, no problem. Very tight power regulation and the unit is quiet enough once you go indoors you can't hear it running. Comes with tools and the oil fill funnel is a nice touch. Great unit.

Very happy i could find a product with ample wattage and an electric start made by well know manufacturer WESTINGHOUSE. Instructions are clear and getting it set up and ready for start up was easy. It started right up! Nice starter. Op Manual is worth the time to read. Lots of good info, must read. Im using my unit as a backup for the house including 240v. Need my well pump working for certain. Working on a manual switch now. Glad i got this unit. Nice and compact and not horrendously loud. 68db

So today went out tapped the carburetor, turned on the gas again this time no gas linking, connected battery, fired right up no problems runs great.

Seems well-built, and easy to unbox and set up. Battery makes it easy to start. Has lots of flexibility on hookups, whether 110V standards plugs, plugin for 30A RV connection, or a 120/240V to hook into our house system through a lockout panel to provide power to all of our house appliances. Nice and compact, so easy to find a place to store it in the garage when not in use, but easy to pull out into the driveway when needed.

After a storm last winter that took out our power, obtaining a reliable generator became a major goal. We did tons of on-line research and found this model to consistently get good reviews, etc. We just brought it home today so no real storm test yet but it went together (legs/wheels) in a matter of minutes and started (yay, electric start!) on the very first try. While I hope we have few opportunities when it's actually needed, it is great to have the peace of mind of having it handy!

But I spent some time trying to figure out how to check the oil level until I found that meter is located on the oil lid. I wish generator was less loud. :-)

I put the gas in and with the choke on, the generator started right up. I let it run for an hour to break it in. I'm very happy with the purchase.

When I took it out the box I was pleasantly surprised by all the features, build quality, and having all that I needed; tools for the assembly, engine oil, and even a screw-in oil funnel, to get the unit prepped and started. The unit started easily and ran effortlessly during its maiden test run. Think this is a well built generator, that I can rely and count on, when and if the power goes out.

After asking friends and co-workers about features to look for and reading reviews on brands and generator types I decided to go with Westinghouse. I felt the WGen5300v was the best value for my needs and budget. It came with a wheel kit, a nearly 5 gal. (4.7) gas tank, easy to follow instructions and is easy to start. I have not needed it for an emergency yet but have no doubts it will provide more than enough power. An added bonus was that the engine (for its size) was not extremely loud.

I have gone through too many times to count without electricity. This will make life bearable. I am a 60 year old female and will be operating this on my own. It looks doable and is easy to move around once the wheels are attached. Was quite heavy getting in my house in the box, but I managed.

After doing research on line I found that gasoline is corrosive and they don't recommend storing it in the tank for more than two weeks. The oil and funnel comes with the unit. I'm just going to leave it empty, no oil or gas, with every confidence that it will start if I ever need it. Unit is heavy but has a good handle and wheels for moving it around.
