Westinghouse makes an awesome generator. I just purchased a WGen5300s portable generator and I'm very pleased. It took only some minor assembly to get it fired up. The generator is more compact, quieter and easier to start than my 5000 watt Coleman generator. I was also pleased with Westinghouse customer service when calling with questions regarding product registration and technical information. Bought it, stored it, doesn't work when I need it. I legitimately bought this online last December and luckily did not need it for the rest of the winter so it sat there in storage for the year. Now we have a huge storm coming so I am trying to prep it to make sure it is ready and I can't get any reaction out of it. Not a good position to be in after just buying this and having a storm coming

Ran great first day, but died on second day of use...maybe only 4 or 5 hours total use. I checked the oil and drained a little bit out, and eventually it restarted on day three, but not sure if it will start when I really need it. When it worked, it was really impressive and powered my electric chainsaw flawlessly for multiple hours. I'll give it a few more chances and decide whether or not to return it if the problems persist.

Bought last month. Have wanted a generator and this one seems to have the features I want. It will be used mostly for emergencies. I hope I will receive the 15 ft power strip as advertised, yet so far in this survey haven't seen a mention of the power strip.

just purchased the Westinghouse wgen5300s generator. Up to this point it is the easiest generator that i have put together and the easiest to break in. i am an 80 year old male and the electric start is a super plus. i am giving it a 9 out of ten only for two reasons. number 1 i wish it had an on off on for the voltage switch so that you could just center off the switch rather that unplugging power cords before shutting down. number two the other thing is the oil plug needs to have a 90 degree elbow pointing away from mounting rail to keep oil from running down the rail. i would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a back up power supply Butch80

This product only has approximately 30 hours of running time. It ran fine in the beginning, but now will not start easily and only when the choke is on. When the choke is shut off it stops running. The product is in new condition and has been kept inside away from the weather when not in use.

I purchased this to combat the ever increasing frequency of power outages in this area. I wired it directly to the panel using the appropriate materials and interlock kit. a test run shows it to be working great! I'm actually looking forward to the next time the power goes out!

I bought this generator two months ago to prepare for the coming winter. As this year's first big winter storm is coming to our area, I finally managed to install a transfer switch and set up the generator as per the manual. The setup appeared to be easy and straightforward. I ran the machine for 10 min or so and it worked smoothly without any issue. Now I can finally give myself a piece of mind before the storm coming.

Arrived with broken parts. The air filter housing was damaged preventing it from closing. The frame was dented and had paint chipped off in several places. The shipping box was intact, undamaged, and in good condition. The damage was obviously done outside the container.

I am certainly no mechanic and at age 65 I was not looking forward to putting things together. I was able to quickly put the necessary parts on and start it up. I have the electric start and it started on the second attempt. Much quieter than that old unit I retired. Very Pleased
