The generator holds a load and the electrician will install it today on the house transfer switch. I bought the 5300s because it has electric start and unfortunately the battery was dead on arrival. Working to resolve issue.

Easy to start by recoil and sounds clean. I plugged in a 1500 watt portable heater and no noticeable change in the generator. I expected to hear it bogg down at least a little and nothing.

I first purchased a different brand of generator, but it was damaged in shipping. The wheels and the included oil were just placed loosely in the box and very little protective packaging for the generator. The oil bottle was punctured and the frame was badly warped. Looking at the other brand of generator, it was was of poor quality. Outsourcing power was turn of and back on every few others for 2 days. This generator was so easy to move in and out of our house fir use. Started right up each time with the touch of a button. It was really noisy at all either.

The WGen5300v provides 240V or 120V and provides enough power for critical loads to get us through until the mains are restored. Generator was delivered as scheduled without damage. Easy to unbox and assemble. Included instructions were clear and thorough. Generator is heavy but not bad to move with the wheels. Loud but tolerable compared to other open frame generators.

Let me first say that this generator did not disappoint. Easy prep work for installation of wheels and adding oil. Filling gas to about 5 gallons simple too. Plugged the wire connectors for battery starter w ease. Put choke on and immediately it fired right up! About 2-3 minutes put choke on middle idle for another 2-3 minutes. It was then ready for full throttle run and hook up to house. Got a 30amp outside outlet wired to my panel box so had the plug in cord bought separately. Once house main breaker off I switched panel over to the 30amp power coming from generator. Flipped house breakers for furnace, refrigerator, microwave, room out...

With the weather changing so rapidly I needed a dependable generated to get through any emergencies. It started on first push of start in 15 degree temperature. Quiet compared to my old one. When installing the two feet, one of the nuts is not aligned well, making it impossible to screw the flange bolt in. I had to screw the bold in from the other direction to force it through (kind of opening up the threads), then screw the bolt out and install as illustrated in the manual. 2. In Page 18, step 5 of "Starting the generator," I was looking for the breakers on the generator originally. After finding on such buttons, then realized this step means breakers on my circuit panel, etc. So please make this clear to minimize confusion. For standard-alone operation (e.g., on the road), this step is not needed.

Added oil,gas and connected the battery and it started right up. Limited use but it powered a Dewalt circular saw and Dewalt miter saw (as a test) with ease. Seems to be well built and sturdy. This was purchased mainly to operate a sump pump in the event of power outages. My decision to purchase this Westinghouse generator was based on the number of positive reviews from other owners.
