After spending a lot of time online researching portable generators, I selected this one because of the electric start and connection options. I am thrilled so far with my choice. I received it ten days after placing my order. No problem putting on the legs and wheels even though it weighs more than I do. Three days later we had a power outage. I connected to the manual transfer box and start it right up!

Generator is heavy (expected), so I highly recommend cutting the box at the corners. This will also make set up easier. Setup was very straight forward. Got it started and checked voltages with a multimeter to confirm proper operation. Compared to other generators that I have used, this one is on par with some of the more expensive ones regarding consistent power output. The power output for this one is more than we needed and even runs my domestic water heater (Rated @ 4500w) which is the largest load that I have to run (even if it is just by itself). Recommend it for house power during outages (intended use for me). Pros: Easy set up, easy maintenance, easy to use. Options for electronic start or manual start. Enough power to run almost anything, although not at the same time. Clear User Manual. Also, when you register it, Westinghouse sends you a cover for the generator. Cons: Noise level would be my only complaint. This is also expected of a running engine at 3600 rpm. Not recommend for camping due to the noise levels. Also, do not recommend running at night if living in a neighborhood. You will make your neighbors mad, unless you share the power (which this allows fairly easy with a regular extension cord).

Purchased this generator to be able to run 240 volt water pump during power outages. Much better unit than I expected. Well built, good looking and compact design. This is first 120/240 volt generator I have owned, and by the looks of it , it may well be the last. "VERY PLEASED WITH PURCHASE"

I bought this during a freak ice storm where we lost power for 11 days. This arrived on day 5 and got us through to the end. Everything works as it should. One complaint in the design--in order to change the oil, you have to unscrew a metal screw at the bottom of the oil tank. Problem is the frame is in the way and if you manage to get the screw out, you can't get it threaded straight to get it back in because of it. I had to get the frame off in order to do so, which was a nightmare. So I guess the next oil change will take more than a few hours since I won't be able to get the screw all the way out again, since it will take longer for the oil to drain. Terrible design flaw. Otherwise, generator works consistently and easily.

I followed the instructions perfectly...added 10w-30 oil...added unleaded gas. I let it run for an hour and then hooked up my RV. I turned everything on. Handled it like a champ. It's not a quiet generator, but it's not hard to build a sound box. Great bang for your buck

Overall solid generator for the frame size. We purchased this one over the next step up due to the big jump in weight. My wife didn't like the idea of moving a generator almost 200 lbs. This one has good power, easy to move around, and the electric start makes it a snap to get up an running. Only took 10 minutes to install the feet/wheels, put the oil in (funnel & oil included, thank you), and connect the battery. The only reason for not giving this 5 stars is due to a couple minor non-functional/cosmetic issues. There a scratch on the blue front panel that was touched up with non-matching paint and the rubber feet are not at the same level so one pad is off the ground. On one of the feet the metal bend seemed off and when torqueing the bolt down it interfered with bend likely causing the whole foot to move when torqued down. Again, very minor.

Generator arrived undamaged, directions easy to follow, no tools needed. Added the supplied oil, some gas and it started right up. Nice functionality on the connector panel, both 220 and 120V outputs (you can't use both at once though, there is a switch).

I just received my Generator and ready to go in about 45 minutes. Westinghouse even supplied a tool bag with the tools needed. A quart of oil plus funnel to make easier and cleaner to fill it. My previous generator, which was only 2 years old and destoryed by a flood, you had use the recoil cord to start. This model comes with a battery so with flick of a switch its on. great feature.

Needed a generator after our last died. As luck would have it, we didn't need it for over a year. Was really afraid that when I started it up for the first time after storing it for that long that it wouldn't start. Three easy pulls later (and I mean easy), it fired up and purred like a kitten. Vast improvement over my last generator.

Bought this for home to run sump pump during an extended power outtage. After outfitting the unit with the motor oil it came with and fresh gas, it started right up. Make sure you follow the initial break in instructions and run it without any load for 1-hour. Piece of mind with this unit.
