I ordered the generator on line and shipped to store, got it home and went through the quick start instructions. Tried electric start and got nothing but clicking noise. Tried pull start and it was totally froze-could not pull the engine over. Took it back and ordered another. Second one got here, went through the set up process, FOB start worked, push button start worked. Tried the pull start and the rewind did not work. One pull and I had to take cover off to rewind by hand. Tried it a few times. Doesn't rewind. Have to keep it because we need it for the week. Will be contacting customer service. Hope they can just send a new rewind. Runs great after started. Will have a better idea of how it does after powering the homestead for the next week.

Received my 5300s this morning and put the wheels and platforms on. Easy, peasy. Filled with (included) oil and connected the battery. Put some gas in the tank, checked that the circuit breakers were closed, switched the fuel valve to on, set the choke to on and pushed the start button. INSTANT START. Ran it for an hour for the required breakin period, pushed the off button and shut off the fuel valve. What could be simpler? But simplicity aside, I have to tell you—I have owned six different generators. The Westinghouse 5300s is (hands down) the best I have ever seen. Everything—and I do mean EVERYTHING—is top quality, including little things such as waterproof, paper for EVERY piece of paper that came with the generator. The instructions are clear, concise, and absolutely outstanding. In addition, it's 2/3 smaller (but more powerful), and lighter, than my last generator. I am beyond impressed with this product. Hats off to Westinghouse. In an hour I'm going to start it up again and hook up some equipment to it. I am 100% confident it will do the job. If you need a generator...for ANY reason...I cannot imagine a better one than a Westinghouse.

Easy to use, move, and set up! Our power has been going off regularly ( Grid problems) and this makes like so much easier! My wife is so pleased as she can move it, start it, and plug in the equipment we need with no problem. Very happy with this generator and it's performance.

After going through another 5 day power outage and using pool water to flush toilets, I knew I needed to get a generator. My electrician recommended Westinghouse and I see why - works great and is compact! I plan on only running essentials (well, boiler, refrigerator and freezer) and I am confident this will handle more. The included wheels are a bonus and I don't have to worry about filling them with air. I like that you can choose a model with or without a battery - I chose without since I didn't want to add more weight or another thing to take care of. Bring it on, mother nature!

Box came a little banged up but no damage to the generator is apparent. The biggest disappointment was the manual and quick start guide were missing. I know I can get the manual online but that's not the point. I had to go online to view the manual to see how to install the wheels and stands and add the oil and since I paid for the manual it should be included. A little more quality control would resolved this issue.

This unit has plenty of power to run my necessities during a power outage. We are pleased with the functionality and features. We hope not to get hit by a bad storm, but at least we will have power if we do. We were worried about losing the food in our fridge and freezer.

I brought this generator after being without power for 2 1/2 days. I wanted one that could power my well pump and some other things in the house. I also like the fact I can use.it to power my camper if I ever need to. I tried on my camper and it runs great. Westinghouse has always made a reliable product.

Luckily I haven't had to use my new Westinghouse 6,600/5,300-Watt Portable Generator yet due to a power outage, but it worked great when I tested it. The electric start is an awesome feature. During my test, the generator ran all of my essential electrical appliances, including my furnace. It seems very durable and well made and the price was great! I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't had a chance to run it in a power outage situation.

Bought the WGen5300s a few days before a storm knocked down trees and took out our power. Was very easy to attach the wheels and feet. Instructions were easy to follow. Started almost immediately. After about 15 minutes, it was purring at a noise level much lower than my old generator.

Very happy with the quality for the price. I gambled and won, as I couldn't find this brand in stores to check it out before I ordered. But it lived up to the reviews. Would recommend and would buy again. Had to hold back a star because I don't think the oil was drained for shipping it literally was covered in it, bleeding into the cardboard, but it's for outside use so I rubbed it in for a rust protectant.
