I'm going to stop buying the roll out pie dough because, not matter what I do, the crust always shrinks. Tonight I tried prebaking a single pie crust--I even lined the unbaked pie crust with foil and filled the crust up with beans, and the crust STILL shrank. I think the size of the roll up crust probably works well for an 8" pie pan, but I use a 9" pan. Pillsbury needs to make a larger size.

Have used these crusts for years with no issues. Always turned out a great pie. Bought two boxes for Thanksgiving and have had lots of problems. Dough was uneven in thickness and patchy with occasional holes. Tried to blind bake several crusts for custard and chocolate pies and the pastry shrunk and rolled up. Have NEVER had this problem...what’s up?? Don’t make me switch companies : (

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to keep a pack of these Pillsbury premade refrigerated pie crusts on hand. They are great for dinners, snacks, and desserts. I am able to make something with them quick and easy...sometimes it is hand pies, traditional pies, breakfast pockets...they take the effort out of prep time.

I followed the directions for cooking a Pillsberry pie crust by itself in order to make a lemon meringue pie but i’m not happy with it because it shrunk too much exposing the side of the pie plate. They should make the crust larger if they expect you to use it in a 9 inch pie plate.

The pie crust tastes like plastic. I have purchased them before, but I will never again purchase these pie crusts. They ruined two cherry pies by giving them both a chemical plastic taste and smell. The pie crusts need to be recalled and our money needs to be refunded for the pie crusts and they ingredients that we used to make the pies. I am hoping that they we are not going to become sick from these crusts.

You have undoubtedly absolutely ruined this pie crust.  I have used it for years and to begin with it was wonderful.   Now it shrinks until they are the ugliest pies I have ever baked.  The crust is also hard, not flakey like it used to be.  I will have to start making my own again.  Sorry you can`t leave things alone when they are good to begin with.

I’ve been using these pie crusts for years. Made 2 pies for thanksgiving. First pie crust shrunk slightly. Second pie crust was horrible. Made 2 more. Finally used the last one because I refused to by another package. I don’t know what has changed but I will not use again.

It will warm up, bake and get crispy just the right away and as long as you roll it out carefully out of the box, you won’t have any problems with it falling apart. Aside from doing it’s job right and tasting good, the price is also great.

I thought it was me until I read the other reviews. I’ve used these crusts for years with no problems. This year I made an apple pie for Thanksgiving. It tasted different and the crust didn’t get done. Tried another apple pie at Christmas. Same thing happened even though I baked it for a longer amount of time. Guess I’ll start making my own.
