I give this 3 stars because the taste and texture of these pie crusts is still very good. A few years back, I would have given them 5 stars, but the quality and quantity has dropped: 1) the pie crusts are not big enough to go all the way up a deep/normal glass pie pan. So, no nice crust lip on your pie. 2) the crusts seem to be thin - when you precook the crust, it bends down. 3) the crusts seem like they have some sort of liquid filler that dissipates while cooking, such that they shrink a great deal. So between the shrinking, the thinness, and the smaller size to start, when you precook, you end up with a small shrunken crust that is more like the shallow crusts that you buy in a tinfoil pan. Seriously, this has frustrated me enough that I’m on the edge of not buying them anymore.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use the pillsbury pie crust all the time, I use them when I make chicken pot pie, quiche, apple pie. They are convenient and no one would know that you didn't make them from scratch. I would recommend this to everyone.

I have used Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crusts for years and have always found them to be an excellent product—until today. When I blind-baked your crust today in a glass pie dish according to the directions on your website, it shrank down to almost just the bottom of the dish. It was unusable. What have you changed?

I started making pies for friends when I retired two years ago. Everyone said they were the best they’ve ever had. I used nothing but Pillsbury crusts. Recently, I decided to start selling them. Within two days of posting my decision I sold 25 pies! Everyone knows I use Pillsbury crusts and they do not care that they’re not handmade crusts. They say the crust is great! I’d SURE give an endorsement for a few free packages!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Funny story. Several years ago where I met my 75 year old mothers in law for the first time she had baked a pie for dessert. I really was impressed with the crust and asking for her recipe. She told me it was Betty Crocker and I couldn’t believe it. I decided if a 75 year old woman who made everything from scratch could use a Betty Crocker pie crust then so could I. I have been using them ever since.

I’ve successfully used these pie crusts for years, but today’s effort was a disaster. Reading through the reviews, I see I’m not alone. The sides shrunk so badly that I needed to use 5 crusts before I got one that was usable. I would have given up after the second try, but my family had been promised a fresh strawberry pie. I don’t know what changed, but I won’t be using this product again. Pillsbury, please fix this!

I love the pie crust, cause i can not make my own so i was wondering if you could start making oblong pie dough so we can make turnovers. Makes it a lot better instead of trying to use a round crust.I think people would love it to i know i would very much. Thank.s

After years of using your pie crusts with excellent results, it’s clear you have cheapened the product in two ways. Amount and quality. The last two times I used your pie crusts for a single pre-baked crust, both while still within the “use by” date and precisely following all directions, they have not adequately covered the pie plate and they have both shrunk to an unusable degree. The Pillsbury brand used to stand for quality. Now it stands for waste of money.

I use a glass anchor hocking 9 inch pie plate and follow the instructions for a pre-baked crust but the crust always shrinks down the sides while baking. It could be because the crust isn’t big enough for the pan which is not a deep dish pan and I have to stretch it out if I want to flute the crust around the edge, otherwise there isn’t enough material to fold under and flute.
