I love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I will admit I was a bit hesitant to take it even for free. I have an older cordless Crosswave (I think it's the first generation of cordless) and I was so disappointed in it. It did a terrible job, was difficult to clean, just all around not good. But this one is WORLDS different. Everything that was wrong with my old one is fixed with this model. (This one is not cordless, however.) I absolutely love the steam feature. It had my rugs AND my tile floors absolutely sparkling. I tried to take before and after photos of a stain on my rug, but the camera just wasn't picking it up. You'll have to trust me when I say that the stain was GONE with very little effort. It's easy to use and easy to clean. I have 4 cats, a dog, and a 2 year old so our floors need a lot of cleaning. This is the perfect tool for the job.
First and Last time buying this product or any similar ones
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fresh out of the box, the steam did not work, went through the steps provided on the website for trouble shooting. Decided to test the other functions before calling in for support. The vacuum is very weak and it takes multiple dry passes to try and get the water up. Even then I still had to go back with a mop. It just left puddles of dirty water. Terrible experience right out the box. I'm not even going to bother with tech support as to why the steam isn't working. It's already back in its box and being returned ASAP.
Hi Lalo - we would be happy to help you with how to use your CrossWave and troubleshoot any issues you have at support.bissell.com. Before you return the machine, let us help!
OMG So Satisfying!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is easy to assemble, use and clean. It cleans the floors well, including vinyl, wood, linoleum, and stone tile. The steam setting is by far my favorite because it can lift deep set stains (it took off a spaghetti sauce stain from 2 years ago!!) it cleans with the quality of scrubbing the floors by hand! Pros: cleaning solutions smell great and come concentrated so you can just add a small amount to water. The tank lasts for about 2 large rooms for a large portion, if you're cleaning like you mean it versus "swiffer quality". It is very satisfying to see how clean your floors visibly become. The machine is very easy to take apart to refill, empty, and clean. A standard size room takes about 4 minutes to clean. We swept some of the rooms first and they were still so dirty. Some rooms we did not sweep first and it handled them well. Cons: the machine is probably 8 lbs which is obviously harder on the arms than some other machines, but to be completely clear, it's very manageable and the cord is very generous. I could do two rooms without unplugging it. There was one dirty spot it couldn't get off from the stone tile, that did come off with a hand scrub and soap. The stone tile has texture. It did take off hundreds of other spots- toothpaste, sauce, slime, dirt, water marks etc. Honestly if someone would have demo'd this in a store and it worked as well as it did, I would have thought it was an illusion it cleans so well.
Love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this primarily for my luxury vinyl flooring and it's the cleanest my floors ever are; cleaner than when I mop and cleaner than when my housekeeper does my floors! The steam clean is fantastic and after they dry there is no residue or sticky feeling! Just clean floors!! The suction is really fabulous and I never have to sweep before hand. This has cut my floor cleaning down to a third of the time. I did use it on my area rugs for the first time today. Definitely helps to freshen but NOT a carpet cleaner by any means; so follow the directions and don't buy it for that.
Decent option for a wet vac
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a working mom of two kids I don't have a ton of time to clean so I was excited to get a chance to try out the Crosswave Hydostream combination vacuum and mop from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I put the mop through its paces both in the kitchen and in my daughter's play area. Pros: The suction and roller were good enough to pull up the play sand and fine glitter around my daughter's play table. Our wood floors have pretty deep grooves that trap these fine particles so the fact that they got picked up by this vacuum mop is impressive. I also liked being able to clean the small indoor/outdoor rug in our entryway with the wet vac. The vacuum pulled up most of the water and the thin rug dried quickly. Since the vacuum isn't battery powered there's no worry about running out of charge before the job is done. Cons: The vacuum is really loud, which would make it tough to use if others are in the house doing work or if a baby was napping. Also the steam function wasn't great at cleaning the tiles and grout around the stove, which get more grimy. I wasn't able to get the mop to unstick some paint or play dough that had gotten onto the wood floors either. I went over the affected areas in hardwood floor and steam modes to no avail. The play dough got soft enough to scrape off with my hands, but the roller wouldn't pick it up. I also tried this mop on a thicker pile area rug, but I wouldn't recommend it as it got really wet and didn't clean well. Finally there is a bit of a learning curve to using the mop. The steam function uses the water/soap solution really fast, so you have to be strategic about using it. Also there's no indicator when the dirty water tank is full, but you will all of a sudden loose suction. You also need to remove the floating filter from the dirty tank first or the filter will fall out making a mess. The instructions for the self cleaning mode are also confusing and it took a couple of tries to figure that out as well, but it does work okay.
The CrossWave is a MUST HAVE for moms & pet owners
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried so many wet/dry vacuums and I was so glad to find the CrossWave HydroSteam! It was so easy to assemble that I went from unpacking to cleaning in no time at all. I also loved how light-weight is so I can carry it upstairs and downstairs without much effort. I tried it out for fun as soon as I got it and thought my floors were already pretty clean. They apparently weren't based on how much grime and dog hair the CrossWave picked up! Ewww! I put in the sanitizing wash for good measure and gave the hardwood floors another once over! I don't think I'll ever feel they're clean enough until they're CrossWave clean now. There was hardly any gross water after the sanitizing wash, which gives me confidence in the ability to get it clean the first time. And I threw out my old wet-dry right away because it obviously wasn't doing the job. With three kids and 2 dogs I was able to put the rug cleaner to the test pretty quickly with a dog pee spot and was so glad I could just grab the vacuum, put in the liquid setting for a small job and clean up the mess. So easy and quick for this super busy mom. I also love how easy it is to disassemble and store. The drying rack is a great feature and tucks away nicely in my laundry room. All the parts washed out quick and I felt like I wasn't at risk for having dog hair clogging up the vacuum. I've also had a problem in the past with carpet cleaning machines putting out too much water and making the rug curl so I was nervous to try it on the area rugs, but this didn't happen. It was perfect. The steam setting was great for my bathrooms! I tried that out soon after and could visibly see the steam, but it didn't feel like it was saturating everything. I love that I can just run the vacuum back over the space without the solution release to dry the floors. With small kids having a mostly dried floor is essential. Nobody actually stays off them! I've been grabbing the CrossWave constantly to clean up small messes a
I would NOT buy this again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Crosswave Hydrosteam All-in-One Multi-Surface Cleaner in mid October 2023. We have laminate flooring and 2 cats so I was eager to have something that would clean our floors and sanitize them. I have used this machine approximately once a month since I bought it and vacuumed with my trusty old Hoover in between times. When I pulled the Bissell out the other day, I had barely started cleaning my kitchen floor when there was a huge puddle of water on the floor! No water left in the cleaning solution tank. The cap on the solution bottle was no longer sealing. I tried to suction up the water with the Bissell but it could not get all up; I wound up using towels to mop it up. My husband and I cut this defective P.O.S. with one of his saws and put it in the trash. I then vacuumed with my trusty old Hoover and then mopped the house with my generic Swifter-type mop. Bottom line - this thing did not even last 6 months.
Sorry to hear you weren't happy with your machine! We appreciate your feedback, but we could've helped resolve this issue. You had a warranty with BISSELL and we're always here to help at support.bissell.com.
Useful & easy to use CrossWave HydroSteam
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I love my cat, I do not so much love her messy paw prints across the floor. Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel, I tried the CrossWave HydroSteam. It cleans like a dream, especially sticky, stuck-on messes courtesy of kittens and kids. Lifting stuck-on dirt from my hard-surface flooring was a breeze with the wash and power steaming modes. CrossWave HydroSteam all-in-one vacuums, washes, and steams flooring. I found myself using it multiple times a week as it was quick & convenient to use. The steamer mode helps to sanitize floors around the home was my favorite feature! I found it also helped shorten dry time on vinyl and tile flooring. While ideally the dirty water tank could hold more fluid, the two-tank feature keeps clean water separate from dirty water- thus ensuring the cleanest floors possible. When the self-cleaning solution was used on self-cleaning mode, I was further assured the inside of the machine was also staying clean following each use
This is a great cleaning system!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This system is great for houses with hard surface floors, carpets, and area rugs. It is very easy to use with clear and concise instructions. The fresh water/solution bottle has 2 lines for filling, small area and large area. I have a smaller sized living/dining open concept space. I chosen to make the small area solution and ran out before I was finished. However, I tried out the area rug cleaner, and would have had extra had I not done so. It transitions very easily between steam cleaning, hard surface cleaning, and power washing for rugs and carpets. I used the pet solution, and my floor and rug was very clean! This system also has a hair and debris catcher, which is great for pets and folks with long haired people in the house. It has a auto clean cycle that is required after each use, and it is very fast and thorough!
Excellent option for real world cleaning in house with pets
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stellar Product Testing panel provided the opportunity to test the Bissell Crosswave steam cleaner in my home, and I am absolutely thrilled with its performance, especially considering I have both dogs and small children. This steam cleaner has proven to be incredibly effective in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for my family. First and foremost, the steam cleaner effortlessly tackles any messes left behind by my furry friends. With dogs constantly shedding hair and occasionally having accidents, it's essential to have a reliable cleaning tool. This steam cleaner not only removes pet hair with ease, but it also effectively eliminates any lingering odors, leaving my floors fresh and clean. Additionally, having small children means dealing with spills, stains, and sticky messes on a regular basis. Thankfully, this steam cleaner has become my go-to solution for these situations. It effortlessly lifts and removes potential stains, even those caused by juice or food spills. I no longer have to worry about residue left behind, as the steam cleaner provides a thorough clean. One of the standout features of this steam cleaner is its ability to disinfect my floors. With dogs and children constantly playing on the floor, it's crucial to maintain a less germy environment, all complete with a self cleaning process for the unit! Furthermore, the steam cleaner is incredibly user-friendly and convenient to use. It heats up quickly, allowing me to start cleaning within minutes. Its lightweight design and maneuverability make it easy to navigate around furniture and reach tight corners, even with a corded design. The large dual water tank capacity also means I can clean multiple rooms without the need for frequent refills. Overall, I highly recommend this floor steam cleaner for households with dogs and small children. Its effectiveness in removing pet hair, tackling tough stains, and providing a sanitary environment is truly impressive.
