I was hesitant after reading all the negative reviews about the unit smoking, my thought is, did any of you even read the manual? If you cook anything that could drip it states to put the baking pan underneath so it doesn't drip on the heating element, I do this and have ZERO smoking, and yes the unit gets hot... hmm because it's cooking and even states (yet again) in the manual that it gets hot and its normal, and for kickers it even says it on the glass door! This unit is a great addition and is quite handy and it dosnt use a ton of counter space. It also seems to be quieter than my other air fryer. The only thing I do agree on with the complainers is that there is no grip on the knobs to make turning them super easy. I do recommend this item and got at a good price compared to other stores.

We used it EVERY DAY! But it burnt out in 3 months as well. Just STOPPED! Kept everything clean. The bottom drip tray is scary as it’s so exposed and gets all rusty and crusty no matter how I cleaned it. Loved it so much! Barely turned in oven and the. NOTHING. Called company and a huge hassle to deal with replacing it but I’ll still try. Such a bummer :(

I bought 3 of these last year. All 3 do not cook at temp any higher than 250. These were gifts & are garbage. Do NOT recommend. Took over 2 hrs to try to rotisserie a chicken to only move it to a oven. Anyone want to buy a used 1 with accessories for $50 shoot me a message. Sadly disappointed.

My wife was simply coming sausage (literally 6 round patties) and we thought the Fryer was broken due to ALL THE SMOKE gushing from the sides of the door. We had to open the front, back door and windows to let the smoke out of the house. My wife was going to fry chicken this evening but we don’t want our neighbors to call the fire dept thinking our house is on fire. Sad thing is we gave our Son the Power Xl oven fryer (which we loved)…should have kept it. VERY DISAPPOINTED…this is a very bad choice!!!!

Google this oven and you will see many people complaining about the defective temperature control. It works fine for 6 months - year and then fails. It won't get very warm anymore even at the highest setting - it can't even brown toast. DO NOT BUY THIS - you are just throwing your money away. Mine broke after the warranty, so now is an expensive paperweight. I contacted the manufacturer to purchase a new temperature control and they won't sell me one. They say the entire unit need replaced/purchased. NO THANKS.

We’ve use this for about two weeks now and are very pleased with it. We’ve grilled salmon, tilapia, asparagus, baked egg cups and grilled bacon and everything has turned out great! We haven’t experienced any smoke like others have commented. We like all of the features on it and plan to experiment more with the air fryer feature.

Like many others, I purchased this air fryer grill and it stopped working. The heating elements went out quickly and it leaves food cold and uncooked. The store would not take my return due to over 90 days and I have not been able to contact the manufacturer. Very disappointed and so much for Sam's club member satisfaction guarantee. Customer service said there is nothing they can do. I'll think twice before I purchase another expensive appliance from Sam's club.

The first time I used the fryer it smoked up the kitchen as if something was burning. And I did do the "prepheat" before using it to get the protective film off. I do have another air fryer that has the basket and that does not smoke at all. Will try to something else at a later time but right now not that impressed.

I received this product as a gift. Wasn’t to sure how to cook in it so I referred to the book. When cooking my chicken nuggets and French fries they did not turn out. The second time I used it to cook some more chicken tenders. Bust again. So the other day I had a steak I was wanting to cook so I thought I would give it a try. It have my house so Smokey and every smoke alarm going off the entire time the steak cooked so I finally shut it off. My steak was med rare when I took it out and it had only been for 6 min. Every time I cook in it my dog hides for fear the smokes alarms will go off and they usually do. I pre washed pre heated everything in advance. Anyone else having these issues? I love my original air frier it worked awesome. This one is a big disappointment.

We were hoping to replace our current air fryer (another powerxl, but sorta shaped like an egg) with this one because it gave us other functionality (pizza, oven, broiler) along with air frying. Our current air fryer was great, it really crisped up fries, tots, and other frozen foods. We even used it for homemade "fried" chicken. Our kids used it like crazy, and we came to rely on it for a great many things we wanted to get nice and crispy. This new unit seems to take twice as long (even on the highest temp 450) and still not get that nice golden brown we got from our previous one. I can't tell if its defective or just a poor design. Unfortunately we got rid of the packaging and now feel stuck with it. I've never owned a toaster oven before, so maybe as one of those, it's ok, but it's NOT a good air fryer, pass this one up.
