Well designed, easy start, runs well

What I like: Love the remote and push-button start! Really impressed with the design - everything is well thought out and well made. Generator runs smooth once warmed up and auto-choke turns off. The included oil-fill spout (screws into oil inlet) is a nice accessory. Manual and operation instructions are very well written. What could be better: Manual choke lever is a bit small, somewhat tucked away and not easy to find first time especially in the dark. No information is provided for battery trickle charger that is included.

Very Solid Generator

So glad to be more prepared for MO ice storms. Really like the set up of this model. All the components are easily accessed and the panel is well marked and easy to read. The owners manual is detailed and easy to understand. A lot of power in a small but solid package.

Impressed! Easy setup. Will do all I need it to

I was gifted this from a family member to be prepared for the impending hurricane season which they predict is going to be the worst we've seen (I don't know about that!) But nonetheless, I do want to be prepared because Katrina is still burned in my brain, and almost three weeks without electricity.....yeah, not doing that again. I'm so grateful for having this to be safe and comfy if such should happen. Thanks, Sis! :)

Not a 5 Star

PROS: compact size, variety of electrical connections, selector for120/240 volt, has actual printed manual not something on the internet, fairly quiet, large fuel tank, easy electric start, easy wheel install CONS: wheels need to be wider so it can be movely easier on gravel/grass, adding oil to engine is combersome, oil funnel needs to be beefier especially the thread, electric start switch icons in manual do not match what is on the generator, fuel level guage does not work

Good Generator!

Easy to use, move, and set up! Our power has been going off regularly ( Grid problems) and this makes like so much easier! My wife is so pleased as she can move it, start it, and plug in the equipment we need with no problem. Very happy with this generator and it's performance.

Much quieter than my previous generator.

Just unpacked and assembled the unit per clear instructions. Quite simple. added oil, and a little gas and it started, no problem. The only negative was a little damage to the generator end cap/vent. See photo. Since the box was not damaged, I assume it was damaged at the factory. I does not hinder the operation of the unit. It's a keeper. I would purchase this product again.

Initial review

Just put this together. Minimal easy assembly. Simple instructions. Push of a button and I’m good to go. This unit came highly recommended by an electrician friend of mine. I bought this for peace of mind and now I hope I never have to use it. But if I do I’m confident it will do the job.

Value for money

I wanted to select and plug in the generator for wiring already done in the house. This generator has satisfied all the requirements and working as a perfect match to pair with my requirements. Now during winter i am saved of losing the power in the house.

Solid and Durable

This generator performs as expected and works flawlessly even though it looks like FedEx dropped the box (the bottom corner of the box was badly crumpled). Westinghouse did an excellent job with the packaging and the generator was undamaged and started with the first pull after putting gas and oil into it.

Quiet, easy setup, home backup generator

Our > 25 year old generator was due for replacement. After researching multiple makes/models this was an easy choice: -Excellent price for a major brand of this capacity -Electric starter with built-in starter battery charger (multiple others require pulling the battery and using an external trickle charger)- works fine, starts quickly -L14-30R 240VAC receptacle (reusing existing power cable to our inside manual transfer switch) -Handle/wheel set included (no need to purchase separately) -Simple, effective, display - voltage, frequency, hours, plus CO alarm indicator -Fairly quiet - with exhaust properly pointed away from the house, nearby windows closed, there was just a little background noise in the rooms immediately adjacent to where it was running (quieter than a small table fan on low speed) -Very good run time given its fairly small size/weight. I'm confident it'll power all of our loads for a full night in the middle of winter, if necessary. I always use ethanol-free regular unleaded, with fuel stabilizer added, for outdoor engines. -Easy setup, good quick start guide Minor nits: -Transport tie wrap on the starter battery cables should be slightly looser. Not harmful but a little overly tight -Starter battery cables should be slightly longer, to facilitate attaching the cable connectors and allow moving it out of the way when filling/refilling oil. Maybe 3" total longer would be quite nice. -Oil fill spout (included) should be slightly longer, again around 2" - 3". It's not quite long enough to bend the inlet side of the spout "up" when filling, though does work okay. While the THD spec is high, during my 3 hr initial test run I was seeing no issues on any of our standard home electronics - LED lighting, home/consumer-grade routers and PCs, monitors/TVs, FIOS internet,... Either the THD is lower when the generator is not pushed to capacity, or after initial startup (a couple minutes total from generator powered on to when I had used the transfer switch to transfer loads to it), but I'm comfortable that it's working fine with our loads. Our 240VAC well pump was cycled a few times during the initial run, 120VAC main home heater and water heater blowers ran several times, and I ran a space heater for added load. (in the Summer we don't use a space heater, but have a few window mounted ACs which have about the same total load). I'll be doing another 3 hr run soon, then refill with 5W-30 synthetic oil for long-term use.
