Got this and noticed that the box was damaged. Opened it up, and the two silica packs had burst open and there were silica balls embedded throughout the cardboard box. There were dings in the frame, and the cover of the alternator was dinged. Also the battery box was bent so the battery doesn't sit flush. It's a generator, not a beauty pageant contestant, so as long as it works no big issue. Getting the wheels and feet on was pretty easy. I try to pull the spark plug out with the wrench attached, so that could begin the break in process and the plug is not moving! Eventually the plug ends up getting stuck into the wrench, because The plug is in so tight, and the wrench is so cheap that it actually embeds itself into the sides of the wrench as the wrench twisted around it. I have to get the standard wrench that you see in hardware stores, and its not moving it as well. In fact the handle on that wrench actually bends, from trying to turn it. Eventually I get the plug out (probably after the oil penetrant I sprayed soaked through) and the plug is wedged into the wrench, So I have to beat that out from the wrench and chip a bit of the non sparking end in the process. But now that the plug is out, i can begin the break in process. Once I finally get everything oiled up & fueled up. It starts very easily. Both on the electric start and the pull start. And seemed to run with no problems, and at a decent noise level, even with a load on it. So while I spent way too much time, fighting with a spark plug, and on principle, I'd like to have it show up to my house ding free, at the end of the day it seems to do its job. Also it is a fairly manageable weight for the power that it can put out.

Seems like a solid unit with great features and specifications. Excited to try it out but need to get damage to air cleaner resolved (arrived cracked with hole in housing). Hoping for a quick resolution. Looking forward to being able to power my home during the next power outage!

I ordered the generator and it came about a week earlier than I expected. Thankful it did as we actually lost power 2 days after it was delivered. Put in the oil, gas and connected the battery and started right up. Ran for about 6 hours until power came back on. Powered our well pump, refrigerator, microwave, heat and several lights. Very satisfied.

Got this over a year ago when Duke Power didn't say anything about rolling blackouts and the text said 11pm instead of AM, our generator had the pull cord assembly break, and it was 9 degrees outside and didn't have time to fix. The little note to de-rate by 3-5% per 1000 ft altitude appears a bit understated. I could only get about 40 amps out of it before it started wheezing. I'm at 2300ft.

I got this generator as a gift and it has worked great for odd jobs I need to get done and it runs the whole house when the power goes out! I love the push button start so no more hand cranking anything. This is a great generator and I would highly recommend this product.

110 plugs work good but could use 4 instead of 2, also can not get the whole house plug to work (L14-30). Bought one it didn't work so bought another and still doesn't work. also arrived with little dent in housing. will try customer service tomorrow

Boyfriend bought this for my house because we are always losing power in the area. He checked out many generators and after reviewing them all he said that the Westinghouse unit is the one to go with. The generator is easy to use and start. He hooked up a transfer box that I just run the twist lock cord to and throw a switch and we have power to the building. I was happy to find out that it powers almost everything in the house.

We purchased this generator, and it fits our needs perfectly. We can power the refrigerator and other appliances during power outages now. The push button start is a great option, and I really like the folding handle as it takes up less space when not in use. Great Product and I would highly recommend.

I've only had this generator for a week now. Assembly was very easy. Added oil,gas and connected the battery and it started right up. Limited use but it powered a Dewalt circular saw and Dewalt miter saw (as a test) with ease. Seems to be well built and sturdy. This was purchased mainly to operate a sump pump in the event of power outages. My decision to purchase this Westinghouse generator was based on the number of positive reviews from other owners.

To be upfront, this review is solicited by Westinghouse in exchange for a free generator cover, but I am being honest with what I'm about to type. It was easy to put together. It fired right up! The break-in period was simple to understand. It powered my tiny mig welder just fine out in the field. Furthermore, the price was a bargain for the amount of watts. I am eager to try out the 240v feature some day.
