I bought it this week. Tried starting it on propane. Would not start right away. Used some starting fluid with choke open started to go stoped closed choke started. Hope it gets easier to start. Ran ruff with no load. Smooth out with load should be fine after it breaks in.

This is our family's first generator. We chose this model, after reading many customer reviews, from various sources, with the expectation that it has the capability to run several of our home's devices - basic power needs, such as; sump pump, refrigerator and furnace motor, plus some lighting, in case the power goes out, again. It's new, and I've only started and ran it 3 times, so far, but it pull-starts easy and runs very smooth. It's not real quiet, but I've read most non-inverter generators make some non-abrasive sound (listenable on YouTube), maybe comparable to an old lawn mower with a worn muffler baffle. The layout of the operational components (choke/fuel valve/on & off switch, etc.), plus the usage meter and gas gauge are excellent and feel like decent quality parts. As commented on by others, the oil drain plug location would be nice an inch further away from the nearby frame cross member, but an angled piece of cardboard or funnel while draining prevents mess. It's got some weight to it, an avg. two person lifter, but the bearing wheels make solo pulling around easy. The overall construction, surface finishes, and general solidness gives us the impression that we got an excellent value for a generator. The most important test is yet to come, as during the next power outage, when we will need it most. Hopefully, it'll prove it's real worth then.

After getting it all unboxed and oil put in I hooked up my propane tank and pulled maybe three times and ran for hours flawlessly has great features to it and it doesn't run to loud for this type on gen very pleased powered everything in my camper as it should have.

I am a single mom, not very mechanically inclined. A neighbor had loaned me their generator previously and gave me the rundown on how to use it safely, so granted I did have some background knowledge. My teenage son and I were able to get this put together and running with minimal problems. We did have to get a neighbor to help get it running again once it ran out of gas - found that it is really cranky about oil. It took the entire quart supplied, and then had to check it and give it more oil with each gas refill. With the proper amount of oil, it runs very efficiently. It is pretty loud, as expected. I was able to run the sump pump, refrigerator, modem, and computers, which were my primary concerns. We have a well, so, unfortunately, no running water when the power is out. There was enough power left to run incidentals as needed like a vacuum or microwave.

Haven't had an opportunity or need to really use this yet but first impression is excellent. Well designed, has every type of outlet I can imagine ever needing anywhere, has 240 volt capability and L14 outlet for use with home transfer switch, and electric start..I Love the electric start.

Just purchased the Westinghouse WGen5300sc generator for backup power for some vital circuits (heat, water etc) for the house. Assembly was super easy: just add mounting feet, wheels, hook up battery, oil and gas. Started right up and ran fine. Plugged it into my transfer switch and all worked like it should. Super happy so far!

This generator is perfect for us. Good backup for our little house when we lose power. Relatively low fuel consumption yet meets our needs perfectly. Easy to assemble and started on the first try no problem. I read reviews saying they had problems. Just take five minutes and read the instructions. After adding oil and gas had it running in 30 seconds.

We just received our Westinghouse generator a few days ago. The set up was very quick and easy. All the necessary parts were included, down to the oil that it required. The generator was very easy to start. We are very happy with the electric start!! Can't wait for the next storm to lose power, so we can try it out. LOL

Bought this during the winter and just assembled and started. Easy assembly. Everything is included to get the generator assembled and running. Product quality is fantastic and the features are outstanding. Electric start is wonderful. Meter and fuel gauge are easy to read. I installed a transfer switch and purchased a 100' 30 Amp cord to run frig, gas stove freezer, furnace, Internet, and one room with computers etc. Overall much better quality, fit and finish than my previous generator. Highly recommend the WGen line of generators!

I bought this a couple months ago and put it together. Easy assembly. I ran it for about 20 minutes and it ran great. I stored it in an outside plastic storage shed for almost 2 months and decided to get it out to run it just to make sure it was good to go in case of an emergency. It started leaking gas immediately from the carburetor. Not sure what happened while it was sitting in a shed for 2 months...
