Poor quality

After six months the cables seem to have come loose. The edge guard does not work any more and after use this spring the cable (I think) does not work so the product is unable to be spread from the hopper.

Scott's Pro Edgeguard Failure

Bought the Scott's Pro Edgeguard and the tires rotted off in less that two years even though it was garage kept. Don't waste the extra money for this one. Doesn't last.

Broke on second use.

If you want a spreader for one time use then this is the one to buy. Not even halfway through my yard on the 2nd time using it the handle broke and I cannot spread fertilizer.

Spend the little extra and buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you care about your lawn. You need to care about your application spreader. This is one of the greatest spreaders I have owned (and I owned a lot). I have not experienced the feed problems mentioned in the previous review, but time will tell if the product holds up.

Nice Edgeguard Spreader

I have been using mine for a while now and it does a nice job. Biggest problem is the Edgeguard starts to get gummed up with dust from fertilizer and lime and starts not moving all the way around. And if you push it it will break. My 4yr old just broke my cable trying to get it to go all the way around and do it's job. Now I have to find out where I can get parts to fix it.

Great spreader

I've had a Scottys speedy green spreader for at least 20 years if not more. It still works great. Just used it today. I do wash it of with a garden hose and make sure it is dry before I store it after each use. Outlasted 4 lawn mowers and 2 snow blowers

Keeps my socks clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used other spreaders before this one and I often found that my socks would pick up the color from the Fertilizer. Once they turned orange. I borrowed this one from my neighbor and found that the edge guard kept the fertilizer from getting to me. If my socks were getting colored it must have been getting to my skin also which is not a good thing these days. The pneumatic tires also make it easier to push when full of product. I will be buying one of these Pro Edge Guard Spreaders this spring.

If you like streaks in your lawn use this one

Makes my lawn look horrible by leaving streaks. Don't buy this one. I've never had one work so poorly considering it is the “pro model”.
