I highly recommend the food sensitivity test from Everlywell

I've been experimenting with food challenges/eliminations etc. But really wanted to confirm what I was seeing so I purchased the Everlywell food sensitivity test (96 foods). #sweepstakes Sure enough I found out something I didn't expect (peanut was high sensitivity) and 2 that I had suspected (gluten/cow milk). I hope to in the new year really eliminate these and see how I feel. I actually bought the food expansion test because I felt so good about the original test.

So empowering!

I have recently been having digestive issues and researching how the gut is our "second brain". It's amazing how digestion is associated with stress in your body and your hormones are connected to how we handle stress, etc. So I figured I'd start with finding what foods are stressing out my body and start my healing process there. The kit was easy to use BUT there was quite a bit more blood needed than I had expected. The kit includes 3 lancets. I used two because my blood clotted and "dried up" before I could get the card filled with my blood sample from my first finger stick. My results came only 3 days after they confirmed they received my package. It took 2 days via USPS for them to retrieve sample. Super fast and easy to navigate website with results.

So easy and so eye opening

Wow, that process could not have been any easier and it was a great way to see which foods may be causing some of the bloating and digestive discomfort I feel at times. I've already begun the suggested elimination diet and so far, its working out well. Thanks Everly for creating a simple test that doesn't require a separate lab trip or a ton of money.

I'm not sure who to believe

I was so excited to get my results and learned that I have a gluten and yeast allergy. I took it seriously and cut gluten out of my diet. However, when I told my dr, she ran tests and no gluten allergy was detected. I feel great being gluten free, but am I really allergic? I don't know.

I highly recommend this test.

The great thing is that cashews are my most reactive food. Over last several years, cashews give me severe migraines the next day. Used to not be like that and I love cashews. So Husband eats pistachios, so I would take a handful every now and then and the next day end up with migraines but never put it together. I learned other foods that I eat regularly, I feel better, no abdominal issues, no headaches, no tiredness.

Interesting Info!

While the test didn't do much for me...it was a great experience. I seem to have a low level sensitivity to most of what is tested but can't basically stop eating. It was good to find that I am not highly sensitive or even moderately sensitive to anything! I never would have known without the test.

Food sensitivity test

I had to stop eating dairy while I nursed both my kids, because they couldn't tolerate it. They eventually grew out of it and can now consume it, but I noticed that I felt way better when I wasn't consuming it. I suffer from terrivle digestion and bloating, and decided to take this test. It showed I have a high sensitivity to almost all dairy, plus a few things I considered but wasn't sure on. This test confirmed my feelings and I'm so glad I did it!

Kit was user friendly and results were quick!

This was a very nice, easy to use at home kit. I had to amp myself up to poke my finger but they give you two one time use "finger poker" the first one I couldn't get enough blood so I panicked a little that I wouldn't get enough from the second either. They should provide you Atleast 3 list for good measure. The results were in about a week and a couple days after I mailed it back. Very pleased with this product!

Eyes wide open

I wasn't thrilled to discover my highest diet sensitivities included dairy, wheat, chicken, and eggs. But, after a few days of eliminating these items from my diet, I do feel better. In a month I'll begin adding each one I'm back into my routine until I find the culprit(s). It's a process and it helps to know it's based on science. Thanks for offering this service!

Food for thought...

As a child, I suffered very bad stomach aches. When I went vegan a lot of those symptoms went away. But 7 years later, I still notice some occasional stomach discomfort, so I was curious if anything would come up that made sense. It said I had NO severe reactions to anything, which actually makes sense since I had already eliminated many triggers. But the moderate reactions included Gluten, Soy, Wheat and Yeast. Yeah...that makes sense. I will use this information to reduce those items in my diet and see how it goes. Glad to have a direction to go in.
