With all the sensor trash can opener I’ve bought, this one is the only one working for about 8 years and is still working. I’ve bought my mom a different kind and it lasted 1 year. I wish I bought her this too. I recommend this one the best trash can sensor and big enough too. I buy the 33gallon for this sensor trash can

I bought it about 3 years ago. It still works great and I haven’t had any issues with it. The batteries last around 12 months. I use 30 gallon bags in it. This allows room to add trash from small containers the bathrooms and office, after it has been removed from the can. I would definitely buy it again and have recommended it to family and friends.

Wish I would have purchased this when it first came out. Very convenient - keeps us from having to empty the garbage every other day. I use the 30 gallon bags and believe me, it saves a lot of money since we now empty this garbage can every 4 to 5 days. The top keeps the smell inside the can and the bags pull out with ease.

It’s cheap, but we have gone through two of these within just a few years. Both had the same issue—eventually the mechanism that lifts the lid fails. Our first one would open, but immediately fall back down/would not stay open, our second one would only partially open, meaning I would have to use my hand to push it open. Both times my mechanically inclined husband took the mechanism apart to try to fix it, but the problem eventually came back. I’m springing for a simple human sensor can. Better quality and long warranty is worth the extra cost!!

I purchased this automatic Nine Star 21.1 gallon trash can over 2 years ago. And I still love it. Had ran on the same D size batteries all this time. And believe me, my family uses this trash can a lot. What a fantastic product that still looks and performs great. I am so happy to have gotten this trash can I am ordering one for my Son's place.

This motion sensor trash can is great! It looks very nice in our kitchen and has a large capacity. We like having the ring to hold the trash bag firmly inside. It doesn?t open when we just walk by but once in a while it will open if a hand accidentally brushes against it. Overall, we are very pleased with it!

Love the size, look, and quality of this trashcan, but every time the lid opens the awful trash odor escapes and overwhelming fumes fills the room. How do you control this. Regular trash cans have lids but does not seem to so air tight where the odors trapped. Please advise.

I have had my unit for about four years, and it works just as advertised. Other people reported problems with the unit, but I believe they may have dead batteries, set the bag retaining ring into the unit incorrectly, are using the wrong size plastic trash bags or no bags at all. The secrets to good operation: don't mess with the lid or try to open it by hand. Keep the unit clean. Don't immerse it in water or spray it clean with a hose. And don't overfill the can and push down on the lid. I keep mine as shined up as my other stainless steel kitchen appliances, and it works great for me. This makes a great housewarming gift, as long as the recipients are not STUPID!

I had high hopes for this trash can, considering all the positive reviews. What a disappointment. This trash can is literally that, trash. Mainly because of the way the bag fits (or doesn’t) in the van itself. There’s a ring that the bag goes around; a thin, flimsy plastic ring. The ring does not fit the bag. Issue number one. Issue number two: the ring is held in place by the lid. In the event you remove the lid, the trash bag AND whimsical plastic ring fall into the can. The ring has since broken. It’s been two weeks. Sure, the lid works and the can is stainless, but what does that matter if it isn’t functional? I would’ve been less upset had we just thrown away $60 than buying this garbage. Save your money, or spend a bit more for something that isn’t trash.

I purchased this about 2 months ago. It worked about 1 week and stopped. I did everything it suggested to try and fix it nothing worked. Have to manually open and close it. It certainly is not worth the price. I have to leave open alot and you can smell the trash inside. Do not recommend at all. My son has one that is awesome and that's why I purchased this one, but his us a different brand. His uses 2 AA where this one uses 3DD.
