The one I recently bought is my second one in about three years...I love this trash can...it opens and closes without touching it...remains open long enough to rid your hands of the garbage...large enough to handle a good deal of trash...my first is still working...just moved it to the garage after much use

Works great. It makes it so easy when your hands are full and you need the garbage in there now. Just pass something like your hand or a piece of whatever your are trying to throw away across the sensor and it opens and then goes back closed automatically. It's a great trash can.

A very good trash can, large and nice looking, with automatic lid opening function. The only problem - it uses old style batteries (D), which are expensive. Would be good if producer put there rechargeable battery, charging from USB. Then it would be the best trash can you want.

I have purchased two smaller ones from the same company, which I wasn’t happy with. This garbage can is totally redesigned compared to the older versions. It is absolutely better than the older ones and holds a lot more. It holds a whole week’s of garbage. I highly recommend this one, it’s fantastic. ❤️🙏🙏🙏

Battery operated, large opening, beautiful brushed stainless steel exterior, and works as described. I replaced my 13gal plastic, manually operated flippy -lid trashcan for this winner. The capacity is 26 gallons. I read a few reviews that indicated the cost for 26gal trashbags were costly & hard to find. Recommended 30gal instead...I took their advice and very happy that I did. Once the filled bag is removed I add trash from smaller bins around the house and make one trip to the container outside! Double capacity, quiet automated functions, conceals odors when lid is closed, looks fantastic w/other stainless steel appliances and a terrific value (and warranty!). Get one already!

I was worried about how responsive this would be, but the lid opens quickly once you trigger the sensor. Be aware that this item won't work well in tight spaces where walking too close to it will accidentally trigger the sensor. The sensor area is small and above the can, but if you walk too close to the front of it then your arm might trigger the sensor.

This has been the BEST trash can! Absolutely love the sleek design and the automatic sensor feature. No more touching a dirty lid with your hands to open it. As soon as it senses movement in front, the lid opens. Goes very well with the stainless steel appliances in my kitchen! Would DEFINITELY buy again and I highly recommend.

I purchased a trash can from the Samsclub website in November 2018. The automatic lid never worked. Ninestars ask that you don’t return items directly to store and you work thru them. I’ve sent 3 emails and a message via their contact us section on their website. I have not heard from the company or a representative. I read the reviews regarding this company on google and the poor customer service is consistent. I am returning the defective trash can today and will not purchase anymore Ninestars items. Lesson learned!

I am unsure why someone designing a trash can would create an inner lip for the bag to catch as you are trying your lift it out… I thought we would get away from that either way this purchase but I am sadly mistaken. I have been fighting with a similar trash can for 2 years and am no longer willing to struggle for no reason.

It works. It's bigger that I expected, which isn't always a bad thing, but something to keep in mind. The electronics portion feels a bit cheap to me, and the sensor is not top quality (it works most of the time, but you have to be slow and close), so I deducted one star.
