Customer reviews for SAMSUNG 70" Class TU700D-Series Crystal Ultra HD 4K Smart TV UN70TU700DFXZA forDied after 1 year (and 22 days)
Picture went extremely dim (not just dark -- unwatchable) all of a sudden. Unfortunately this happened 22 days after the meager 1 year warranty expired. So, I now have a useless, expensive piece of techno-trash that Samsung is unwilling to do anything about. To their credit, designing a tv that dies 22 days after the warranty ends is really a pretty impressive con. Save yourself the heartache, don't buy this piece of garbage. Or if you do, think about it more like an annual rental.
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that your Samsung TU7000 TV display is having issues. We appreciate your patience; there are a few troubleshooting steps that I will put below in case you have not yet tried them. First, you can manually adjust the Brightness by pressing the HOME button on your remote, then navigating to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings. Next, let's make sure that your Energy Saving Mode is not causing this issue. Go to Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode> Disable. You can also run a Picture Test. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test. You also may want to ensure that your Firmware is up to date. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update. If you continue to have a dim screen, then your TV will need service. If your TV is out of the 1-year Manufacturer's Warranty, you can locate a service center in your area on Samsung's website. Go to Support (upper right corner) and select Schedule a Service Appointment. This will allow you to find a location nearest you to help you with your repair. Should you have additional questions or wish to troubleshoot the issue, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Black screen in a couple of days
TV worked fine for the first couple of days, then the screen went black presumably from a faulty back light strip. The menus and and sound still work, but the screen is still black. Otherwise, the screen was great for 4K gaming until it unfortunately broke.
Kevin: If you've switched on your TV and the sound comes through fine, but you're not seeing any picture; there are 3 potential issues. 1) A connection issue; the most common problem. Where there is a bad connection, faulty cables or improper installation. 2) An issue with the device connected to the TV. There may be a video output setting on the device that you must set properly before it will output to the TV. 3) There is something wrong with the TV, which will require a technician to assess the TV and find a solution. The 'Samsung TU7000 Full Manual' is available online. Refer to pages 135-140 for step-by-step troubleshooting instructions. I hope this helps, if you should need further troubleshooting assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support. 1-800-SAMSUNG (8AM -12AM EST, 7 days a week) Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the SUPPORT link in the upper right corner for: 1) Contact Us Options (LiveChat, Remote Support, Facebook, Twitter) 2) Product Support 3) Manuals and Downloads 4) Warranty Info 5) Product Registration: Registering your product gives you access to easy warranty support, convenient opt-in to special promos and offers, faster troubleshooting and service, and quick notification of system updates 6) Samsung Community: A great resource for getting help from Samsung moderators and customers and more 7) …and more product, repair, order, and care options Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on this product. Fantastic TV!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would like to start this review by saying that i am some what of a TV snob. I research extensively before I make a purchase. Display size is very important to me but of equal importance is picture quality and features. This Samsung TV is smallest display in my home at 65 inches. Yes, I'm "that guy". The picture on this TV is stunning right out of the box. I do have a calibration disc that I use to fine tune the settings on my TVs. I didn't have to change any settings. I was really impressed with that. The sound from the built in speakers is also really very good. The remote is very simple to use and as a bonus it is a universal remote that works my DirecTV system and my sound bar. So no more having 3 or 4 remotes laying around. This thing has almost no frame to speak of which is very sleek looking. It has all the built in apps that you need with dedicated buttons on the remote for Netflix and Amazon. It also has built in Disney+ which is awesome. There are plenty of connections for all your other equipment such as sound bars, game consoles, and DVD players and you can control them all with this TV and remote. The one thing that I wish Samsung would change is that the power cord connects to the back of the TV on the complete opposite side of the unit from all of the other cable inputs. For those of us who detest cables running everywhere it creates more issues than it has too, especially since this could be easily fixed. Overall though, this is a great TV that you will love in your home. It's my 2nd Samsung TV and I'm sure won't be my last.

Great Price and Horrible Picture
I was really excited to get this TV, But after we got it installed, all of that went out the window. The picture quality was really bad, I would say it's the worst I have seen and we own 4 other samsung TV. So I decided to return it and get another model in a higher series. This was my experience with it.
Returning
We have given it a try, but we will return it. The apps do not work properly, videos keep freezing. We have checked for updates and done everything possible to make this work. Not very impressed with image quality, the smaller Toshiba that we had for a while works better than this one. Not worth keeping.

Great TV for an amazing price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this TV over a year ago when I was moving cities, wanted a big screen without having to expend the premium cost on it. I'm highly surprise by the quality of the TV specially for what I paid for. The images is high quality even when playing video games and the sound is perfect for a small apartment. The extra channels that Samsung provides are a plus since we don't pay for cable but can access it for free. Overall great purchase.
Read the negative reviews and believe them!
Just purchased brand new AT the store last night. Brought it in, hooked it up and thought those (negative) people are crazy... well 2 hours into watching it- turned off on its own. Called Samsung, no one was available and had to text the issues. Did all the usual unplugging etc... and nothing. They are going to send a tech. When? I don't know! Left the tv on and just a few seconds ago, sound is coming from it intermittently but no picture. Then did alll the troubleshooting again and nothing. It will not allow me to access anything on the screen, meaning no settings menu even pops up. It's blue then black and some sound cannot even turn volume down! Do not buy this tv. It was instant savings at sams club but not worth it. Don't do it!
TV is fine, software is not.
bought the tv almost one year ago to the day (nov 30th, 2020). the tv is now stuck and say it needs updated by a usb drive. i've tried over and over to put the current firmware onto a usb drive and to get it to repair or reboot and apply it. no luck and samsung support hasn't been able to help so far. pretty annoying that a firmware update that should be taking place in the background somehow is corrupt? can't even change inputs to roku or a game system.

Great picture
picture is awesome. took some getting use to be ause it is so clear. only reason i gave it a 4 star is because of the remote. for some odd reason they did not have it light up. i keep having to turn on the light to use the remote. doesn't that seem odd. even the cheapest of the tv's come with remotes that light up. oh well, the tv was a gift so i can't complain too much lol.
