Enourmous, Functional, Smart, Affordable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this fridge for a month or so now and it's really great. This is our 2nd LG fridge and we're really happy with both. The main reasons we bought this model involved the freezer drawers and the capacity. This is a HUGE fridge in terms of interior space. That means we can pack it with plenty of fresh food without creating warm spots and stressing the compressor. The freezer drawer handles are just handles. Some of the other models and brands we looked at employ some kind of sketchy plastic sliding tab arrangement where the drawer handle pivots to actuate a locking mechanism that opens the drawer. To us, that mechanism looked like it would break in a matter months so we were very happy to find regular drawers on this model. For us it's ideal.

Expected better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 7 months into this prodiuct, I experienced a compressor failure. The good news is that I was informed about rising freezer temps through the app. It would have been nice if the app or the appliance told me what the actual temperature was. I went out and bought thermometers. LG told me it would be a long wait to schedule service, but, out of the blue a week later, a tech called and asked me for directions as he was scheduled for the next day. The new compressor is very loud, although it does work. I will try for a replacement. I am also not thrilled about the icemaker in the door. Ice keeps getting stuck and it dispenses erratically.

I highly suggest not buying this unit. The Ice maker is very very slow. Door won’t stay shut with milk on the door. That’s what they advertise the door can hold. door is not weighted to shut. It needs be heavyer. No light on door to stay in upon request.

Nice size with issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the size and design of this refrigerator. However there is a flaw in the mechanics. The water/ice dispenser button gets stuck and it releases both non stop. You have to open the door to stop the ice and water from coming out. There is no resetting the fridge by pulling the plug. You have to forcefully hit the button to get it to release. The button was replaced shortly after our purchase. Now the button had jammed again. This time the service rep is replacing the whole door panel. Good thing we took the extended warranty. Another feature with a design flaw is the ice maker When the tray holding the ice fulls it stops dispensing ice. You have to open the panel and shake up the ice.

I was looking for French door, in-door ice maker and water dispenser, spacious freezer with more than one drawer, three refrigerator drawers (fruits, veggies, deli), and an ice maker setup that would not take up 1/6th of my refrigerator space. This particular fridge turned out to be it. I've had it for about a month now, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. It is very spacious, easy to organize, beautiful! Seems to work very well. In all honestly it could be *just* a little bit quieter. But it's OK -- it's a small tradeoff for all the awesome features that I really was looking for and this fridge possesses. I would definitely recommend it!
