Big and beautiful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this refrigerator but the water tastes gross. I have run gallons of water through it and have ordered filters. It really ought to come with the first filter. Also the installers dinger the door twice.

I purchased this refrigerator to replace a n LG refrigerator that was only 9 years old. I replaced to solenoid valves in the ice maker and water dispenser when the unit was in use only 5 years. Four years later the compressor gave out. I ordered this Unit in August to replace the failed unit and did not receive it until November. I was lucky in that I had a 27 year old Matag Refrigerator that I could use while waiting for delivery. I hope this LG lasts as long an the Matag, but I really don't expect it will.

Nightmare…stay away from LG

I bought this fridge a little 3 months ago…it is truly the worst appliance I have ever used. A total nightmare. Does not cool; food keeps spoiling…now white powdery stuff is falling from ice and water dispenser. Don’t buy this LG model. This particular fridge is a total lemon.

I didn't realize that the stainless is not only magnetic, but smudge proof! I love the two freezers, so much more organized than the big freezer drawer we had before. The ice maker is great and better contained than our last fridge, which had constant defrosting issues. Plus the ice cubes are smaller which I love. Not having the ice maker in the fridge gives me so much extra room up top!

One thing that I like are how the wiring harness is routed on the top of the door hinge rather than at the bottom of the door. If ever there would be an issue for wire breakage it would be easier to access.

I called LG and they were able to get me a new part to fixed the problem. They were more than accommodating in helping solve the problem. Great customer service. Not as good as its looks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator is quite attractive & has a lot of width. However, we had to return the 1st unit we purchased because its water dispenser had a very oily smell and taste. We exchanged it for our current unit, the same model, but it had the same problem but was resolved by switching out some parts in the water filtration system. Our compressor also got very noisy, eventually failed, and LG installed a new compressor for free. It runs much quieter now and cools much better.

It was taken from us too early. So unfair.

The look and capacity on this is great, but the double freezer drawers thawed and then the fridge got dicey. Aww lost a huge shopping trip+. Authorized compressor replacement didn’t solve the problem, and while the compressor was covered, the expensive service was not. Neither was the expensive appliance, which was unsupported beyond the mfr’s warranty. I googled a known compressor failure (or line clog) in some LGs only after the fact. Had to buy another new fridge after a short two years. Such a shame. Usually great brand—all of our home appliances are LG! VERY disappointed in this.

Very problematic fridge and freezer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start off by saying that I love the design and features of this refrigerator. Since it was installed last 1/28 I have had service here 6 times. There has been an ongoing problem with the compressor as the freezer turns itself off and then back on. Consequently your food starts to defrost and has to be tossed; not to mention the mess and inconvenience of cleaning up defrosted ice cream and run off from meat items. The first two times it was serviced I was told that it’s working fine. Then they realized they had a compressor problem, so they replaced it. The same issue of cycling on and off happened after about two weeks with new compressor. Had freezer setting to -8. Service technician said it happened because it needed a software upgrade, which he then performed. I have spent hundreds of dollars replacing food items. At 71 bending to clean up ongoing mess in freezer not as easy as it used to be. Life is NOT good with this particular model! So disappointed and disgusted.
