Great size, 10 year warranty on compressor!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Large freezer drawers, large ice and water dispenser. The only draw back, is the deli drawer is full width, so both doors have to be opened. Also, the right vegetable drawer can not be opened fully without opening both doors also. Bit of a design flaw.

Our only wish would be to have a fold-up top so that you could access it without opening the double doors. All in all, we really love the fridge.

This fridge is a nice unit overall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this unit since July of 2018, and it worked really well till November of 2021 when the compressor stopped working. On the morning of the day the LG tech came out the compressor started working by itself out of the blue after not working for a couple of days. The tech updated the firmware and did a routine check of the entire unit. Fast forward to June of 2022 (8 months later) and the compressor stops working again. This time it completely fails. Called LG tech support and they sent out the same tech (who btw was very polite and answered all my questions.) I asked him what causes a compressor to go out twice on a unit that is a little over 4 years old. He mentioned that some of these compressors have issues from the factory and that it's an industry wide problem/issue (other manufactures have the same compressor issue - AKA, they don't make compressors like they used to back in the day). Good thing LG has a warranty that is 5 years labor and 10 years for the compressor. Overall, LG did help me out and since I lost many food and medical items that were in the unit both times, LG sent me a check to cover the losses.

Couple issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator a few weeks ago and overall am happy with it. However I see a couple of issues after using it for a bit. I think the large freezer compartment should have a light inside and I’m not sure how well the ice maker functions. I thought I liked it but last night went to fill a glass with ice and it was empty. When I opened the ice compartment, I found that two large chunks of ice cubes that had melted together were stuck to either side of the top of the ice maker bin and that somehow caused the ice maker to think it was full when it wasn’t. It seems it’s a design flaw that I will constantly have to monitor. Also the handle for the ice maker door is rather flimsy and you have to put a lot of downward pressure on it to open, so I can see that breaking over time. Otherwise, I like the layout of the refrigerator compartment, especially the sliding shelf and the large door bins and the unit is very attractive. My last refrigerator was an LG and I had to replace the ice maker twice so I Hope this is not an indication of things to come.

Freezer doors don’t stay open

I’ve had this refrigerator for less than a month and it’s okay. The refrigerator section is very big. I’m disappointed in the freezer. It’s smaller than I thought it would be but the worst part is that the freezer doors don’t stay open on their own, you have to hold the door open with your hand so you can never use both hands to access what’s in the freezer. This happens for both freezer doors. You open them and they just slide shut right away. I’ve had technicians out twice to try to fix it but it can’t be fixed. Not so good if you have something to put in the freezer that you need two hands to hold.

Couple little things though; The light inside sometimes does not come on, but short while later does. Thought it was possibly during often or extended door opening and closing. Had frost build in one of freezer drawers. Noticed that seal was not touching in that area. Fiddled with drawer and have peaked at it often since and seems to be sealing properly now. Early on had a noise like fan or something like that spinning and dinging off something. Could make noise worse or disappear by pulling or pushing on upper front of fridge. Have not heard it in week or two now. Leveled fridge during the time this noise was coming and going.

We purchased our LG fridge about five years ago. It has always been pretty noisy, but we just put up with it. Then it completely quit cooling, so we had to call for service. Ended up being the compressor, which was covered under the 10 year warranty. It is so much quieter now and hubby is much happier! Apparently they have had issues with the original compressor and if we had known, we would have called much sooner.

Good refrigerator,ice maker needs re engineering

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, we are quite pleased. We have had trouble with the ice maker on several occasions (in fact currently waiting 11+ days for repair). I also wish there was a proximity light on the door dispensing panel to easily discern functions at night. I would also recommend the bottom refrigerator shelf to slide further back to make room for tall items.

Huge fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this fridge for about a month now, and I am so happy with it. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this fridge, I had previously ordered a Samsung online and was told I would have to wait two months before it would arrive. I couldn't wait that long for a refrigerator, so I went to the store I ordered the Samsung from and the salesman showed me this fridge. It was so much nicer, WiFi enabled, and the black stainless...sold!!! The best part is that it was in my house by the end of the week. I have a big family (6 people) and we haven't even filled the fridge yet. There's always ice, water taste great, love having two separate freezers, and no fingerprints all over.
