Customer reviews for LG 28 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator forMember photos
It is a lemon.
We bought the full LG line up for our new house, and this fridge has been the lemon of the group. There have been multiple repairs, even more failures, and lots of spoiled food. Even when it did work well, we would still need to buy bags of ice because the ice maker could not keep up with our family of four. It did not make it three years. We are very disappointed with it.
Hi there. Thank you for reaching us. I'm so sorry to hear that your LG LMXS28626D fridge has been a lemon and has caused you so much frustration. I can imagine how disappointing it must be to have a new appliance not live up to your expectations, especially when you've invested in the entire LG lineup for your new home. I want to acknowledge that multiple repairs and failures are unacceptable, and I'm truly sorry that you've had to deal with spoiled food and inconvenience. I can also understand how the ice maker not keeping up with your family's needs would be a hassle, especially in a busy household. Please reach out to us on social media @LGUSSupport so we can help you further. ^Cris
Mixed feelings
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Large capacity in part due to icemaker in door vs in refrigerator. However small capacity for ice and small cubes. Doors seem to dent easily. No light in bottom drawer which makes it a little difficult at night.
Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this a few weeks ago and are so happy with it. The moveable shelf to allow taller items in the fridge is awesome. The freezer is nice and big. The only thing missing is an autifill for the water but that's just me being lazy. Overall, great product!
Beautiful
I bought this refrigerator because I have wanted one with the French doors for a long time. The ice maker didn’t work because of a manufacturing defect. It has now had the door replaced and we shall see. Otherwise I love the refrigerator. It is spacious, a great layout, and beautiful.
Hi Donna, thank you for sharing your experience with the LMXS28626S. It’s great to hear the spacious layout, French‑door design, and overall look are bringing real value to your kitchen. You mentioned the ice maker issue, and since the door has been replaced, a helpful next step is confirming the ice maker is switched on and giving it up to 24 hours to resume normal ice production. Looks pretty!
If there was half stars I would give this fridge a 3.5. Pros: it’s absolutely gorgeous! Adds something extra to the kitchen. Love the 2 freezer drawers! So glad we went with that! Cools very well Good organization inside Cons: The left side of the French door when closed hard the flap doesn’t open up, leaving a gap for cool air to escape The water from the door feature comes out SO fast it gets splash’s all over the fridge, your cup, your hand, everywhere
Great Refrigerator, reasonable price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this refrigerator for about a month. We have loved it so far. Plenty of room and well built. This the second one we have bought. We had to give up the first one when we sold the house. This was our first purchase for the new home.
Hi Ctallen, thank you for sharing your experience with the LMXS28626S. It’s wonderful to hear that your second time choosing this model has been just as satisfying as the first. The spacious interior and solid build make it a great fit for a busy household, and it’s especially meaningful that this was your first purchase for your new home. We’re glad it’s been a smooth and positive addition. For further assistance, feel free to email us at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. LG Digital Care Team – Rich
Great refrigerator
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living in the mountains only get delivers 2 times a month so it finally got here, got it unboxed and if you have 2 people is much easier to do it as weighs in at 342lb, I did it by myself so took longer. Have a 36" doorway so checked out to see how to get in the house from my shop. Looks like the best is to just take off the handles. So took out freezer drawers 2 screws each and lift right out, took out all refrig. shelf's and drawers, not so heavy now. Took off door handle 2 screws on each handle. fit right in, took into kitchen, moved existing refirg out of the way and hooked existing reverse osmosis water line up, but all parts back in, plugged in turned on the ice cube maker ran water till I got water, took about one day for all temps to settle down after I loaded stuff back in. finally got some ice was surprised that cubes were great, as old system with large cubes were not always full size, this LG makes smaller cubes and is great. So far just love this refrig, easy to adjust temp, drawer close easy and by them self with little help, got the self closer drawer sliders, lighting inside is bright and top freezer drawer also has a light. So much room available in this unit. Pretty quite only thing I really hear is the ice cube maker dumping cubes, been a week and all it just outstanding.
What an upgrade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace an aging Maytag refrigerator. First off, the size is awesome. While this new LG is slightly smaller dimensions wise, it seems so much larger. Its finish is really nice and durable. No finger prints, no streaks left over from wiping. The ice is awesome. Small cubes or crushed. Cons: I have run gallons of water through the water dispenser, but it continues to taste a little strange. Plastic like.
Disappointed
We have had this refrigerator just about 3 years now. Since we have been under quarantine, it has stopped cooling 3 times. I just called for service AGAIN today because the freezer isn't freezing. The freezer is rather empty (since it's only been 2 and a half weeks since the last repair, I haven't restocked again). Every time it happens, you have to wait at least a week for service (Best Buy outsources their refrigerator repair). Food spoils, the inconvenience of needing a cooler or putting things in the neighbor's fridge. First the freezer, in a few hours the fridge won't be cooling. Three times in 4 months...this is ridiculous...especially for the price we paid. We were expecting top quality but are extremely disappointed.

Time Will Tell
We got this about 3 weeks ago. A little early for a review on a product that should (better) last for years. Yes, it keeps things cold in the refrigerator, and yes it keeps things frozen in the freezer. Get back to me in 15 years to get an actual REVIEW!
