We bought the full LG line up for our new house, and this fridge has been the lemon of the group. There have been multiple repairs, even more failures, and lots of spoiled food. Even when it did work well, we would still need to buy bags of ice because the ice maker could not keep up with our family of four. It did not make it three years. We are very disappointed with it.

However, I noticed more components are made of plastic, so I’m unsure if it will last as long. One improvement I do love is the additional freezer drawer—it makes food more accessible and easier to organize. Unfortunately, the bottom drawer lacks a light, which is a disappointing oversight. The ice maker, however, is a downgrade. The ice frequently gets stuck and has to be manually broken apart, which wasn’t an issue with my old fridge. I find this most annoying of all, since it needs to be dealt with every couple of days. Another inconvenience is the single dispenser button—you have to select either ice or water before use, unlike my previous model, which had separate buttons for each. The old fridge also featured an extra water button on the exterior, making it easy to fill larger containers, and I really miss that feature. Overall, it seems like a decent refrigerator so far (after one month), but it has some frustrating design flaws compared to my previous model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really impressed with this refrigerator. I've had zero issues and that's the way it should be. Only complaint is with the ice maker. If not used regularly, the ice has a tendency to thaw slightly and stack up on 1 side. I have to open it and break the stack in order to dispense ice. Other than that, it's been a great appliance.

It also has some innovative feature that make storage flexible and keep extra ice very convenient. Only drawback I’ve noticed so far is that you must open both doors to access the deli drawer, but this is a minor issue. Looks great and so far ice, water, and cooling have been excellent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator would have got 5 stars if it had a larger capacity ice maker and the door where ice maker is built in WOULDN'T SLAM SHUT EVERY TIME YOU CLOSE IT! You literally have to hold it until you close it softly. EVERY person that opens my fridge to get something is startled by the HARD SLAM. You can't get something and turn away for a second while you put food on the counter because it will slam shut! So annoyed by the bad design. One door slams the other has to be pushed to close. The fridge is amazing! The door slamming shut every time REALLY Ruins a great refrigerator. :/

We moved into our house about 2 months ago and were "downgraded" to a side by side refrigerator/freezer. It was awful. No room. We just left our second LG French Door refrigerator at our old home. And that was an upgrade over our first LG French Door refrigerator! Our new refrigerator is so spacious and the upper freezer drawer makes it easy to access frequently needed items. It looks so stylish in our kitchen and is definitely a talking point with visitors. The compact water/ice area in the refrigerator door still leaves lots of room for storage. One of the best purchases we made!

I bought this refrigerator because I have wanted one with the French doors for a long time. The ice maker didn’t work because of a manufacturing defect. It has now had the door replaced and we shall see. Otherwise I love the refrigerator. It is spacious, a great layout, and beautiful.
