I want to love this fridge, but...

I purchased this refrigerator when my previous LG failed before Thanksgiving. It is my first French door style. The fridge works and everything stays cold and frozen. My biggest disappointment is with the ice maker. For some reason, an ice jam forms on the right side of the ice bin. This ice jam keeps the ice bar from dropping which makes the maker think there is plenty of ice. We only find out about the ice jam when the ice fails to dispense. My second complaint is that the dispensing of ice AND water is SLOW. It takes a few seconds after pressing the dispenser bar, for the fridge to start dispensing water or ice. It's like it has to think about it. My previous fridge started dispensing the instant you pressed the bat. This seems like something that could be fixed with a simple firmware update. I personally would not buy this refrigerator again.

LG Fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, my family is happy with the performance of the LG fridge. A few minor issues would be the lack of a designated area for eggs and that the water drips and cubes explode when coming out of the outside dispenser. This is our first time with the outside cube and water dispenser, so we aren’t sure if this is normal or just a flaw in the design. We’re glad we ended up getting the model with the split shelf, so tall items fit and the two drawers for the freezer, so you don’t have to dig deep and items are more readily seen. So far, we haven’t needed to replace the water or other filter, so I’m not sure how easy that will be.

It looks great in my kitchen!

I also like the feature of having the 2 freezer doors. Keeps my food so organized and easy to get to. I Love It!!!!

Linear compression cooling is bad

Owned this fridge for just under 5 years and now it needs repairs that cost more than what I paid for it. LG was sued in a class action law suit, many linear compressor models were included, but unfortunately not this one. So out of warranty and no recourse. AVOID LG LINEAR COMPRESSOR REFRIGERATORS.

Outstanding Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really impressed with this refrigerator. I've had zero issues and that's the way it should be. Only complaint is with the ice maker. If not used regularly, the ice has a tendency to thaw slightly and stack up on 1 side. I have to open it and break the stack in order to dispense ice. Other than that, it's been a great appliance.

Awesome fridge!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Can you be in love with a fridge? Yes - this is the best! Slim ice maker ideal...leaving lots of space. I cook and entertain a lot. Haven’t even used my extra basement fridge for overflow - no need. Plenty of room. I use the Glide and Serve drawer for wine for parties. No need for ice bucket on counter for entertaining. Easy slide out of small top freezer drawer for ice access - and ice cream!

Happy refrigerator owner

Very happy with our purchase! This refrigerator is very spacious! Freezer is split into two doors which also gave us more room for our frozen items. We love how fast the water fills our flask and dual ice maker was also an added bonus. Definitely would recommend this purchase!

I love my new fridge!

The wide shelves are so convenient and I never realized how I needed those deep door shelves. I really appreciate the door alarm as I usually don’t know that the door hasn’t closed fully. It was a great purchase. I’ve even sent pictures to friends!

Not worth the money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have only had this refrigerator for two years, I love the look. But after the first year the ice maker went. This month the refrigerator stopped cooling and the compressor went out. Both were under warrant. We lost food this time and the first time a rug due to water.

Problem with model!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator after having owned another LG fridge for 10 years but for some reason this one has had over six issues where it stopped cooling, would not push cold air from freezer to upper fridge or the ice maker. Have had LG technicians out to repair it and now am having another issue with the same fridge again. Now it is being placed on an outside agency to repair it. At what point would LG consider this fridge a lemon and replace it for the customer. I own over four LG appliances and after this experience not sure if will be getting LG appliances in the future.
