I give it 4 stars because it met all out expectations; except that when the ice maker stays full for more than 2 days; the resting ice glumps up making it difficult to dispense ice and serve water... We were remedied that by emptying the ice make once every 2-3 days or thrice a week. I really hope this positive constructive review doesn't disqualify us from the chance at the $500 reward.

The fingerprint resistant finish is a sanity saver! The unit is quiet and cools well. Great storage on the right door, but limited space on the left side due to the icemaker. It makes ice quickly, but I have to empty the bin into the freezer storage to be able to have enough ice to use in a day; there is no ice maker in the freezer drawer, which I wish was an option. The produce and deli drawers are roomy. I thought that the display on the front would show the actual fridge temp to know if it was working correctly, but it only displays what the set temperature is. Living in an area where there are power outages due to hurricanes and severe weather, it would be helpful to know the actual temperature of the interior for food safety. Seems useless, really, otherwise. I realize you can't have everything. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

It's our first experience with french door and a bottom freezer but, based on our experience with other LG appliances, we're looking forward to many years of use. It's layout is very efficient and is applicable to and flexible in its use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the fresh produce drawers. It is nice that the sliders for fruits or veggies stay put. The big shelves on the right door are great, I can put 4 half gallons in them and still have room! Over all it is very thoughtfully designed.

Within 3 hours of fridge installation, it displayed an error which caused the refrigerator to shut down. The error resulted in a cooling fault because the compressor fan was not working. It turned out the fan cable was not connected which was possible a factor issue. The cable has a key lock so it seems unlikely it would come unplugged during shipping. We were able to work around the issue by power-cycling the fridge every time this error occurred - about every 3 or 4 hours. The issue has since been resolved by a service technician. There is a second issue that the water from the dispenser has a plastic/metallic taste. The cable connecting the fridge to the water line has been replaced and this has helped, but the water taste is still substandard (not like our old fridge of 14 years). We are still trying to resolve this issue. Other than that the fridge is very nice. It appears to be very well designed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased my LG at the end of 2018 and have been immensely pleased with the way it functions and the overall design. Was very disappointed when it stopped cooling/freezing after only 2 1/2 years. Could not find a serviceman willing to repair it. In desperation, I called the company directly and to my great delight, they immediately sent a repairman and replaced the compressor at no charge. Very appreciative that they stand behind their product and hoping for more years of good service.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this one about 3 weeks ago to replace my unreliable/troubling Samsung refrigerator. It has all basic functions I need. The only drawback is the bottom freezer has no lightning. Hope this will be a reliable one that can last for years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the configuration of the fridge and the freezers. The fridge is very easy to use. However, their placement of the internal air vents is a major problem. They didn't put the internal vents on the side of the fridge, they put them on the bottom... where any drips of spills in the fridge will leak into... then gum up the vent, and prevent the air from flowing... which then freezes the motor... and then the motor turns off... and then my entire fridge full of food melted and destroyed hundreds of dollars worth of food. The design of the vents is a major issue and it I had to do it over again, I would have purchased a different fridge.
