We purchased this generator when our power went out in the recent power failures in Texas. Our power was out for 25 hours and the temps. where in the single digits. I connected our furnace and several lights as well as running an extension cord to my neighbor so he could run his furnace as well. It handled everything with no problems! It had power to spare. What a great lifesaver! Thank you Westinghouse!

I bought in Feb 2021, when the big snowstorm happened in San Antonio, TX, we weren't prepared but we are now! We got enough power to assist our family and neighbors should there be another crisis. Has Great features including a remote start, 12500 Peak Watts, plenty of outlets - we highly recommend it!

This generator looks pretty sweet. Only reason I didn’t put 5 stars is that I haven’t actually had my house hooked up to it yet and ran the house. Happy I came off the money to get it. It should do most in my house minus the A/C of course but that’s ok I can always get a window unit or stand alone if need be. It starts right up and runs good haven’t really had to put it heavy use yet but I’ve ran it several times for a while just for break in I guess. I’ve read people saying it’s loud but honestly I haven’t been around a generator that wasn’t loud, unless an inverter gen. I wouldn’t say it’s loud because it’s like every other generator I’ve been around but this one puts out more so I think that’s good. Wish we had a place that sold them because ordering from Amazon can always be iffy because the package was in terrible shape when it finally arrived to the house. Hopefully it’s a long lasting generator!

We bought a MEP 003a diesel generator. The problem was that it required a bunch of steps to get it started. My wife and I are getting old and she needed something easier to start. So we decided to replace it. With this Westinghouse WGen9500c, you turn on the switch and either press the on switch or the keyfob button and the unit starts itself. We live in a 16 x 80 mhp that has a 2 ton air unit. This generator powered the ac and our full size fridge with no problem. FYI, it was Mr. Westinghouse that came up with the idea to use AC to provide electricity to the United States. If you have ever been in a power outage you know that you need something that is dependable to get you through until the power is restored. We chose this generator and a manual transfer switch.

I spent hours mulling over which generator to buy. Finally decided on the big WGen9500. This should have plenty of power for my whole house when mother nature cuts us off from the grid. Same basic dimensions as most open frame generators but it is darned heavy due to its huge capacity. It is not quiet, but similar to a 4000W other brand that it is replacing. The 30 Amp L14-30R fits with my existing long cord and wall inlet so I don't have to make any changes right away. However, in order to use all of the power I'll have to upgrade everything between the generator and the house panel. Why have 12,500 peak amps if I can't get it to the house? Setup was quick and simple. Wheel kit and feet took only a couple minutes. Filled it with oil and some gas. Connected the battery with the quick connection now included. One push of the electric start button and it was off and running. Same with the remote start fob, didn't even have to pair it with the generator. The manual start was not the first pull start. Have to give it a pretty quick yank to fire it up with the pull cord. Nice to have multiple options for starting. We'll see how it does when we lose power and really need it, but great so far. I never give 5 stars but might want to rethink that after putting this through its paces.

I've had a few smaller generators, but decided to step up and get a unit to run my entire home. Electric start is slick, started up on third try with the auto start, did a quick run with leaf blower and bam its ready to go. Well,,, its loud , but again its a 457CC engine c'mon that a motorcycle engine!

This thing is the bee's knees and generators. I have a wrecked rotator cuff so my pull start generator has become obsolete to me. I can sit in my bedroom and click a button and on comes the power. And now my daughter and baby can run it if I'm not at home. Highly recommended and easy to put together. I'm a sixty year old female and I did it in twenty minutes. The Funnel for the oil is a little sketchy, but take your time and you won't end up with it all over the floor, live and learn right?

I was tired of losing power at home and decided to buy a generator. There were a bunch a brands to choose from, but I decided to go with Westinghouse because they have a long history of making reliable products. How do I know this? Because I served on a WW2 era Battleship that used a bunch of Westinghouse equipment that continued to work reliably until the ship was retired in 1991. The generator was delivered ahead of schedule and was easy to set up…All you have to do is add 2 wheels and 2 short legs and add the oil that was provided. I’m confident that I’ll be able to power my entire house with this generator the next time we lose power from the electric company.

Overall very happy with purchase, have not had to use yet but set up was pretty easy although it was a little glitchy with the remote start set up and we had to call for tech support. We followed the directions on the manual but it needed to charge for a while.

This generator came packaged nicely which kept it safe during delivery. This was very simple to put together with very minimal assembly. The generator came with very clear instructions and a manual. I am impressed with all the features this generator has. It has a very sharp look to it, not that it matters, but definitely worth noting. I followed the directions and it started up right away. I am very happy with this purchase!
