My wife and I recently purchased a home and experienced our first storm inside the home in July. Unfortunately we wasn't prepared and we were left without power for a few days. Since buying the westinghouse generator it has given me the assurance that we will be ready for the next storm.

I live in Florida, and I was tired of not having enough power during outages to run my air conditioner, two refrigerators and a freezer. So I decided to upgrade my generator. The WGEN9500 has enough muscle to use a power panel interlock (rather than a more costly transfer switch) so that I can choose run any circuit in my home during the outage. Some may find this more inconvenient than using a transfer switch, however, this setup works well for me. My unit came well packaged, was easy to assemble; just the wheels and 2 feet. After putting in the oil with the funnel (both supplied) and connecting the battery then filling with 87 octane fuel (regular) it fired right up and tested out perfectly. I look forward to many years of dependable backup power from my new Westinghouse generator.

NOT WORKING IN COLD WEATHER (BELOW 20 F.) The "auto start" does not work at all at cold weather (Auto choke failure) It might work only if you push the choke lever with your thumb at the "cold" position and hold it there In other word: Useless if you live up northern USA or Canada fpor the reaL winter time

I do not often leave product reviews, however, I felt compelled to in this case. After shopping around, I landed on this generator and was surprised to see its affordability and the features it has. Living in a hurricane prone area, having a generator is necessary and this one is perfect for the application I had in mind. Its wattage will allow me to run so much more than the essentials. It operates flawlessly, the documentation and tools provided with it are high quality and I can start it with the push of a button, so I do not have to brave the southern heat and humidity for too long. It is a solid purchase.

Received as a gift. I have had the generator about two weeks and haven't started or used it yet. Easy to assemble but I tipped and supported it to the front (muffler side) to install the wheels and support feet rather than to the side as the instructions implied. Appears to be sturdy and I am anxious to try it. The only drawbacks I can determine at this time are the locations of the oil filler neck and the manual chock which may prove awkward for an older individual.

I read all the reviews and was very impressed. I purchased the WGen9500c and was a little nervous because my husband works a lot and I knew I would be the one starting it up. The electrician who installed our transfer switch, showed me once and everything is so easy and self explanatory. Very easy to put together as well. Great purchase!

I bought this 2 weeks ago and added oil, it started up first try. Used the remote feature and it worked as expected. Have not used it yet for house back up or to run tools but I'm certain it will work the way its supposed too. Checked out and have owned several generators in the past as my business requires plenty of generator use, hoping this toes the line.

Arrived very quickly. Very easy to move with wheels and lift handle for me and my wife. Lifts and moves like a 25lb item for a 200+ Generator. The battery came fully charged. This is our third generator and this is by far the best. Easy to register our new Generator online for warranty.

We have had 3 power outages in one month and we needed something. We haven't been able to use it yet but the fact that we now have the ability to keep things "normal" is a great benefit. The versatility of this product is exactly why we bought it. I hope that we don't have to use it!

Set up was very easy. With installing wheels and feet, adding oil and checking things over, took about 15 minutes. Started up on the second pull and ran smoothly. Everything worked as expected with no issues. Hurricane season is happening now. I hope I don't need to use it, but glad I have it in case I do. Can't comment on long term use, but I don't expect any issues.
