Remote Start 9500 Portable Generator

Bought the generator about 1 month ago. Unpacking Instructions and attachment of the wheels were clear and easy to follow. Setting up the remote start sequence required closer attention and connecting 2 battery wires not addressed. However, once completed, the generator turned over and ran as described. With 12.5KW start up & 9.5KW running wattage, this generator will be able to power both central air a/c units, frig and freezer, TVs, lights, and electric stove when activated in sequence more than enough to get us through a local power outage.

Excellent Machine

The generator was well packaged and arrived with no damage to either the carton or the generator. The wheels and legs were easy to attach and adding the oil was also easy. I made the battery connection and the generator turned over on the first try. The FOB remote worked just as well. After putting fuel in the tank and remembering to turn the fuel shutoff valve to the on position, the generator started on the second time it turned over. The electrical output was excellent. The only thing about the generator I do not understand is it is rated at 9500 running watts and one outlet is a 50-amp. This would equal 120 volts x 50 amps = 6000 watts. I asked if the 30-amp and 50-amp outlets could be used at the same time and was told no. I do not know how to get the full 9500 running watts out of the unit.

Great value for the price

I purchased this Wgen9500 generator during the Fall of 2019 after our local electrical supplier, PG&E, started shutting down grids because of fire danger. I had a small generator (2000 watts) but it wasn't large enough to power our needs. Did my homework, and decided on the 9,500 watt size. This unit came fast, came perfect (no damage), started the first time, and ran great. I haven't had a chance to test its capabilities during a blackout, but it should handle nearly my whole house. It is a bit heavy, and a bit noisy, but that comes with the size. The built-in handle made maneuvering it around very easy, and it is actually smaller than I had expected. Fits very nicely in my outdoor shed, very convenient to store and move around. All in all, a very good value for the price. I would recommend the Westinghouse line without reservations.

sturdy. dependable.

we bought this model based on range of features and power since we live in a hurricane zone and expect to lose power - it was a replacement for a very similar westinghouse product used reliably for years...and we're looking forward to enjoying this one for many more

Very well built

I am 67 as was worried about being able to move a 200lb generator. After installing the wheels and legs(super easy), I just flipped the handle up and off I went. Very well balanced and great leverage. Very simple and easy to follow instructions for start up. Compact and lot's of extra power.

Great generator

Bought this generator a few months ago. My electrician finally hooked up Inlet box to my breaker box the week before Hurricane IDA. I lived off this generator for 9 days in New Orleans during and after Hurricane IDA. It even powered one of my central air units. Central air used to much gas so I mainly ran 110 window units. Im currently in the process of adding a natural gas option. The remote start is awesome. I would recommend this generator over a whole home generator because a lot of people for IDA could not run whole home generator because natural gas was shut off due to uprooted trees affecting gas lines.

Everything I expected and more!

After being disappointed with another brand of comparable size, I decided after reading 2 independant reviews of the top 5 and top 10 portable 12K generators to purchase the Westinghouse WGen9500 (which is 12K start up). The attention to detail was the first thing I noticed as I unboxed it. After attaching the wheels and base legs and putting the oil (which was supplied) in the crankcase, and 1 gallon of gas in tank, I pushed the electric start button. It took between 2-3 seconds to start and ran smoothly. The first thing I noticed was the quietness for this size generator. I have 2 smaller generators and it is quieter than either. The remote start feature is really nice. I went in the house which is 40 yds from my shop, hit the button and it started immediatley. Hooked a load to it and it performed flawlessly. I bought it for power back for my home but have not hooked it to transfer power and test it yet, since I have only had it a few days. It is also very easy to move and manuever with the big wheels and handle. I am very impressed and would recommend it to anyone who needs this size generator.

Amazing generator with all the bells and whistles

I recently purchased the Westinghouse 9500W generator, and I am beyond impressed with its performance. From the moment I unboxed it, the experience has been exceptional. Assembly was a breeze, taking only a short time to get everything in place. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, making the process smooth and hassle-free. One of the standout features is the electric start. It fired up on the very first try with no issues whatsoever. This convenience is a significant upgrade from other generators I’ve used in the past. In terms of performance, the Westinghouse 9500W handles my entire load with ease. Whether I’m running multiple appliances, tools, or essential household devices during an outage, this generator doesn’t break a sweat. It provides a consistent and reliable power supply, ensuring peace of mind during critical times. Overall, the Westinghouse 9500W generator is a fantastic investment. Its ease of assembly, reliable electric start, and robust power output make it a top choice for anyone in need of a dependable and powerful generator. Highly recommended!

There are many benefits

A friend loaned to me a generator to use during a recent five day blackout. After using the Generac, I could see that there were solid feature improvements by purchasing the WGN 9500 C. I like having the 50 amp circuit. I like the easy way that the assembly went. I like the easy to read gasoline gauge. I like the basket that prevents trash from getting in the fuel tank. I like the digital display gauge that toggles between information about what’s happening to the unit while running. I like the key fob I am just starting to use it and I am, so far very impressed. I’m having an electrician install transfer power to our fuse box so we won’t have to use the many extension cords we had laying around with the Generac. I like the handle that allows an old man and woman to be able to lift and move it where we need it Without straining too much. Thanks, Westinghouse.

Runs Entire 2400 Sq Ft Home with 4K HVAC

Hooked up to home using the 50A plug on generator, Twenty foot/ 50A extension cord, Reliance PBN50 power inlet box, 6 ga. THHN wires to 50A breaker with mechanical interlock switch in electric panel. Runs entire home with 4 ton AC. Now for the disclaimer. My 4 ton American Standard condenser is new and pulls less than 40 amps when compressor kicks in. If your condenser is old, or if you can hear it hitting hard when it starts, you may have to install a soft or hard start kit on the condensing unit. I have only tested this for about an hour but cycled the AC on and off a few times and the generator performed very well. I'm in Houston area and the temp was almost 90 with ridiculous humidity when I ran this test.
