I recently purchased the Westinghouse WGen9500c portable generator, and overall, I’ve been quite impressed with its performance. It offers plenty of power with its 9500 running watts and 12500 starting watts, which is more than enough to keep essential appliances running during a power outage. The build quality is solid, and the unit starts up reliably, even in colder weather. I also appreciate the user-friendly features, like the electric start and the clear, easy-to-read display panel. However, I’ve encountered an issue with the carbon monoxide (CO) sensor, which has been a bit frustrating. Early on, the CO sensor seemed to malfunction, triggering the generator to shut down unnecessarily. While I understand the importance of this safety feature, it’s disappointing to experience this fault so early in the generator’s life. As a result, I now need to send it in for service to address this problem. Despite the CO sensor issue, I’m still optimistic about the long-term performance of the WGen9500c. Westinghouse is known for good customer support, so I’m hopeful that this will be resolved quickly. If you’re in the market for a powerful and versatile generator, I would still recommend the WGen9500c, but be mindful that this model may have some early teething issues with the CO sensor. Pros: Powerful output (9500 running watts) Easy to start and operate User-friendly display panel Good build quality Cons: CO sensor malfunction (requiring service early on) Hopefully, this is just a rare issue, and once it’s fixed, I can enjoy the generator without further problems.

When it came in we open the box and pulled the generator out. After checking the generator over we add the oil, and did a precheck . We put some fuel in the tank and it started right up the frist time. We ran it with some power tools with no problem, and would work good for the house also.

I bought this generator for use when i have power outages. I have only had it a few weeks but can already tell this is a heavy duty, great running generator. I fired it up and ran it the amount of break in time required. I then did a test run on the house. It performed Great. To anyone out there wanting to power their house this is a Great generator. I feel like i am totally prepared to handle any power outages.

So far this little generator has run smoothly and impressed with features i was not even aware of like remote start and automatice choke. I expexted more of a stripped down machine but thats not what i have at all. Its also pretty light weight for its max output range. I am used to the older heavy and bulky gens that would rattle themselves to pieces. This ones smooth as can be while running. Albeit i have only placed it under a mild continual load for testing purposes.

Bought this a month ago to be better prepared for hurricane season. Did test run for 6 hrs and unit performance was excellent! Started right up and full power to my house. I highly recommend this generator to anyone wanting backup power or for use to run off grid. Thank you Westinghouse for a quality product. Sincerely a friend in Florida

I bought this to use when the electricity goes out in my household. A few days ago, my house went out of power for the whole day from a tree falling on the power line, luckily I had purchased this generator and I managed to turn my whole house's power back on. It was like there was no outage and my family was able to be very comfortable thanks to the generator. It's very useful and makes a person feel reassured that they can still get power during an outage. Amazing and useful poduct. No regret purchasing it!!

I bought this about a month ago and so far am very happy. Really good price for the size of the unit, can nearly power my whole house with this one unit and for a fraction of the price of the whole home generators. Fuel consumption is impressive for its size.

I just received the generator yesterday and ran it today. The engine runs fine but the power output is not constant. I contacted customer service and will hear back in a couple of days as to what to do. Depends on the outcome as to whether I can adjust my rating and recommend to a friend

I just bought this WGen9500 last week. I took it out of the box, installed the feet and wheels, but have not had time to put in the oil yet. I know that is going to be perfect for my needs: working around my 3-acre property and acting as a stand-by generator for extended outages. I compared to other machines and found this one to be everything I wanted. Even though there have been ownership changes I still trust the Westinghouse name. I can be sure.

On first use, it seems to be a really solid unit. I filled it up with gas and oil, moved the choke to cold start and pushed the start button....2 cranks later, yes it continues to run the start cycle until it starts, it fired right up. I ran it for 6hrs and not a hiccup. Will see how durable it is long term, no reason at first glance to doubt it, but a very nice generator for the money.
