My wife and I recently purchased a home and experienced our first storm inside the home in July. Unfortunately we wasn't prepared and we were left without power for a few days. Since buying the westinghouse generator it has given me the assurance that we will be ready for the next storm.

Having a smaller generator and wanting a larger one I found all the features I was looking for in this product. All the Utube videos were positive and showed very good capabilities of this unit. Haven't used it yet but am certain it will not disappoint me.

Just bought the generator so I cannot comment on how it performed during power outage. I can say that the setup was straight forward and the generator started right up. I plugged to my transfer switch and it had no problem powering all my selected circuits. Machine is well built and is easy to move around. I am very happy with it,

Easily assembled, great owners manual, and the remote start is cool but not needed. Replaced a 11 year old Rigid generator with this one which was rated #1 on multiple sites. Haven’t ran my house off of it yet but hope it stands up to the ratings!!!!

Load size and price per watt matter more than other items. Out of the box, put together and running in less than 30 minutes. Started on the forth crank cycle, then on the first crank thereafter. The only issue was the negative battery lug was hitting the wheel, rotated it out of the way and it's just fine. It doesn't have the wattage load needed to carry the whole load of the house, but it'll do just fine to cover those needed items.

Started up on first try without choke. Happy my model has the 50amp plug in the middle away from the wheels so it's easy to connect. Had to return my first purchase of same unit since the serial number/model number factory plate was for another generator. That would have been hard to explain if I ever had a warranty claim. My second one is all ok. Will most likely put it to the test this winter.

I bought the 9500w generator and I’m not disappointed. Very easy to install the wheels and the handle is preinstalled. Added the oil which is included and after filling with gas, and connecting the battery, it fired right up with the push button ignition. Pairing of the key mod was explained in the directions and was fairly easy. Feels awesome knowing we’ll be with power and not have to go stand in line for ice with most of the other unfortunate ones when it’s lights out. Thank you Westinghouse for such a great pruduct. My husband and I got this after a recent snow storm left us without power for over 24hrs. Although we haven’t had a need for it since, we were surprised at how easy it was to get running and hooked up to the necessities; ie. fridge, microwave, and some lights. Definitely glad to have this as a new addition to our home.

I shopped and compared dozens of brands and models before deciding on the WGen9500. My Dad has had the WGen7500 for a couple years with no isaues, so I had some confidence in the Westinghouse brand even though the generator itself is made overseas (Vietnam). My purchase was to upgrade from a circa 2005 Coleman Powermate 5500 that served me well they many power outages. I was shocked that this 9500 watt generator was not much larger than the old Yamaha MZ300 powered 5500 and is actually noticeably QUIETER! Will be running it thru its paces soon after I complete a thorough and gentle break-in. My primary concern would be the THD rating -- Specs indicate up to 23% THD which would be disasterious to sensitive electronics and also would be rejected by battery backups/UPSs which I use many of. Anxious to see the actual noise level in the power output.

I purchased an original generator in February through Home Depot. After getting the generator delivered it was found to have significant shipping damage. We contacted the GE Customer service line and was offered replacement parts or that they would work with Home Depot to replace the machine. This is the replacement which arrived in less than 3 weeks from the original purchase. This generator was delivered in very good condition. Assembly was easy and straight forward. At this time it runs well on a test and seems to be what we were looking for. Intended use is for backup power to our home since we experience frequent outages during rough weather.
