My go to flavor is chocolate! I am not the biggest fan of protein shakes, so the chocolate flavor makes its or break for me, this one is average. The shake starts smooth and is medium bodied. Nutrition wise, this checks all the marks for me! I prefer adding the shakes to my coffee in the mornings to help with the aftertaste that seems to be unavoidable with this product category. Nutrition wise, this checks all the marks for me! However taste wise, I prefer a more expensive brand that Sam's also carries, but it can get pricey. So bottom line, if protein shakes are a daily part of your nutrition, then this is a solid budget friendly middle of the road option.

I've been drinking chocolate Premier Portion for years. With inflated prices I thought I would try Sam's version. It reminded me of when I accidentally bought the wrong flavor of Premier Protein. I think it was either Chocolate Caramel or Chocolate peanut butter. But one of those two tastes exactly like the Sam's chocolate product. It's not terrible, but not the chocolate ONLY flavor I hoped to taste. I hope Sam's figures it out, because I would switch to theirs in a heartbeat due to better pricing. For now, I'm going back to Premier, reluctantly. $$$ Come on Sam's please fix.

I normally purchase Fairlife chocolate protein shakes! I was purchasing to make Ninja Creami ice cream and decided to get these, because they were cheaper. My family thinks these are disgusting and I agree… chalky and just off. We’ve thrown out any of he ice cream made with Member’s Mark and are trying to give away the rest of the shakes. It reminds me of what my chocolate lip gloss tasted like when I was a kid… not good. Buy the Fairlife or even Muscle Milk.

I know everyone seems to be complaining that these are too thick, but that is actually the reason that I prefer them over other shakes. The thicker consistency makes it more chocolatey, in my opinion. If you don’t like a thick consistency, then of course I can’t recommend them, but luckily I do.

Short version: Solid product, good flavor and texture, and seems to have improved from earlier formulas. I'd recommend trying it for yourself! Long version: I have tried many brands of both ready-to-drink and powdered protein shakes and meal replacements. As a certified chocoholic, I LOVE chocolate. However, chocolate is often my least-favorite flavor in protein products. I have had some genuinely BAD experiences with chocolate flavors; it just seems like manufacturers struggle to get the flavor and texture right while keeping sugar content and calories low. I often opt for vanilla or other lighter flavors and have settled on Premier Protein as my favorite chocolate-flavored protein drink. Always looking to save a dollar or two, I purchased this product within the last year as a lower-price alternative to Premier Protein. Frankly, I hated it. The chocolate flavor was very light, almost chemical-tasting, and the consistency was gaggingly thick and chalky. I said I'd never buy it again because the lower cost was not worth suffering through consuming the lower quality product. Enter the MyMembersMark program and free samples. While I was NOT excited to hear I was getting samples of a product I did not like, I did my part and tried it. After doing so, I have to say either my first experience was a 'bad batch' or they have improved upon the formula since I purchased the product. The flavor is a richer chocolate with none of the slightly chemical 'off' taste I noted in the case I had purchased. The consistently is pleasingly thick, without being chalky or cloying. The result of my latest tasting: I would buy it again and recommend trying it for yourself. While admittedly still not quite on par with Premier Protein, this is a suitable alternative for value conscious consumers of ready-to-drink protein products. My question for Sam's and Member's Mark: when are you coming out with additional flavors??

I think these are the BEST tasting protein drinks around. They were available ONCE at my club and haven't seen them since! It would be nice if Lubbock Sam's Club would stock these again! I drink a minimum of two per day so would like to have these not only for tthe taste and thickness, but the value!

THE FLAVOR, CONSISTENCY AND NUTRITIONAL VALUE AS WELL AS CONVENIENT PACKAGING MAKES IT AN AFFORDABLE "TO GO" MEAL REPLACEMENT. I APPRECIATE THE LOW FAT AND LOW CARB QUALITY OF THE MEMBER'S MARK FAMILY OF PROTEIN SHAKES. MY ONLY SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT WOULD BE TO LOWER THE SODIUM CONTENT FOR THOSE OF US ON A SODIUM RESTRICTED DIET. THANK YOU!

I’ve tried a lot of shakes, and these are one of my favorites, especially for the price. I like the thickness, if you chill them and shake occasionally, it’s a good consistency. The ingredients are nutritious and it doesn’t cause problems with my gut issues.

I decided to try the Member's Mark protein shakes instead of the national brand to save some money, and they tasted great. They shipped to our house quickly and my whole family started drinking them for breakfast and after they work out. 18 won't last us long.

These are gross. I drink lots of protein drinks and these are disgusting. I think the other 5,000 reviewers have broken taste buds. These have to be chugged and then chased with water just to not waste them. On second thought, i will now go brush my teeth to get the aftertaste out of my mouth.
