Cake was lopsided, with the top off-centered. Icing was thin with cake underneath visible. Beaded edge along bottom of top level when it was ordered without. Cake was not freshly made, as when order was double checked I was told it was ready to pick up 2 days prior to the event ordered for. This cake did not look anything like the picture—if you’re expecting this to be ready to serve without additional decor, this is not the cake for you. Very disappointing from Sam’s as I usually like their baked goods. Was told they only have 1 decorators so they have to make the cakes early. Definitely a difference in freshness from the cake ordered and the cupcakes we also had ordered for the event.

We bought this two tier plain white cake with the intentions of decorating it for my brothers wedding. We were extremely satisfied with the outcome. Great taste and freshness and the perfect size. Will definitely purchase for future events and you absolutely cant beat the price.

The top tier was chocolate and was VERY dry. So dry we just trashed the leftovers. The bottom tier was vanilla and was very good. Not dry at all. The icing was not smooth and I wasn't impressed with their work. I asked for minimal decorations because I was going to add my own decorations. But was still very disappointed in their ability to frost the cake smoothly.

I ordered a plain cake with layers of chocolate and white. I wanted a blank slate so I could decorate it for a bridal shower. It was very neat and had nice clean edges and wasn't wonky at all. It was the perfect canvas for the cake. The taste and texture of both layers was outstanding! It was moist and the perfect density! The icing was perfect as well - not grainy or too sweet. I got tons of compliments on both the taste and appearance that I wanted to take credit for baking it!

I ordered a Two-Tier Cake for a Christmas themed Bridal Shower. The cake itself was delicious with it's super heavy buttercream icing. It just looked awful! So awful that the bride and groom who considered cutting cost and ordering their wedding cake from Sam's changed their mind.

Terrible-both cakes we ordered were lopsided . Couldn’t get ahold of the store for replacement and we needed for a wedding the next day. I called the Monday after no answer, called 800# was told store would call me back. Been 2 weeks still nothing. Made social media complaint on FB still no response.

I purchased this cake for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party. It turned out so pretty! The cake was fresh and tasted very good. The only issue is you can only order online and the options are limited to how you can decorate. Luckily, I wanted simple colors. So white with gold glitter was perfect for us.

Bought this for a wedding of 50. It was perfect. We bought it undecorated so we could specialize it ourselves. We bought it on a Thursday evening for the wedding on Saturday. It kept beautifully in the refrigerator. Highly recommend for any small event.

The online ordering for cakes should be improved. If I order a custom cake I expect for me to see the customizations chosen before I pick up the cake. It was easier to order from the sheet of paper. At least with the paper I had options. The cake choices are very limited. Since the cakes are decorated in store I should be able to choose my colors, flavors, and decor. The one star is because the cake tastes good. I have been ordering Sam’s cakes for over 20 years. They are the best tasting cakes; however, the ordering process needs to be improved immensely. The cake did not look as expected and I was extremely disappointed. The fact that a different customer picking up a sheet cake had the same complaint as I did shows there is an issue with the ordering system. As a paying customer I should be able to SEE what I am ordering.

We were so pleased with our cake! We ordered a plain, white, 2 tiered cake for our wedding, and then just decorated it with a cake topper, and some cake topper flowers and garland from Etsy for decoration. First of all the cake is so delicious! It was soft and moist and tasted so good. You would never be able to guess it wasn’t from an expensive bakery. I would definitely order again and recommend anyone looking for a more affordable option for their wedding!
