Verified Purchase

Would recommend Walmart.ca to everyone.

[Employee of walmartcanada] No issues really. Just a little longer than expected to receive it but my son was very happy.

Best console for the money..you can play old games

im happy as a clam... Bought the best console.. paid the 19 dollars for the dev mode app. i switch back and forth between retail and dev mode if i want to play nintendo games of any generation except switch. This baby plays anything.. sega, atari, whatever. Plus a lot of free games are avail for download like Rocket League are avail for download. You can even try hitman 3 for free with limited missions. I found a way of getting Gamepass for 3 years way cheaper than its advertised for. Cloud gaming works awesome... Truly best console i ever bought.. hands down. Load times phenomenal. you dont need the X.

Best Christmas gift

Best Christmas gift. There are some pros and cons. The pros are it is a heck of a lot more fast than my xbox one, the graphics are way better, the system will fit literally anywhere. The cons are i have had a few freezes and gliches, I don't like the controller. Those are some pros and cons I noticed. But overall I would highly recommend this product.

Honestly I like it more then I thought

I honestly like the series s but if there was one thing I could change I would change the storage space because games that are optimized for the series s / X have to be installed on the internal storage so if you have a hard drive that you want to use for external use then the games that are optimized for Series S / X can only be installed on the internal storage but aside from that if you have a Xbox one it is still a great upgrade so far all the games that I ran on the Xbox was really smooth

Great console, not so great storage

This is a great console but my only concern is it’s ability to run games that require a big amount of power. Also since games require so much storage now, you need to buy the expansion card if you want to have more than 6-7 games. And at that point you might as well buy the series x. I feel like this is a great console but if you are looking to have this console for the same amount of time as you may have had the Xbox one then I’d recommend getting the series x, but you do you, both are great consoles.

Hi Kaden -- Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your Xbox Series S. If you're playing older Xbox games that haven't been enhanced for Xbox Series X/S, another storage option is to add an external hard drive. Games that aren't enhanced for Xbox Series X/S may be stored and played directly from an external drive, freeing up your SSD for enhanced games. Hope that helps! --Chuck, Xbox Customer Care

Coming from PlayStation since 1995 to now and this is my first Xbox. It's a great unit. You may need to expand your storage, however it will be worth it because you will still wind up paying the same or close if you bought the Series X with a TB. The one TB Seagate expansion card is a great idea instead of a bulky HDD.

Hi there--Welcome to the Xbox family! We're delighted that you're enjoying your new Xbox Series S. If you need more space, you have a couple of options. As you mention, the best choice is to invest in a Seagate SSD 1TB Expansion Card for Xbox Series X/S, which will add 1TB of SSD storage to your console. Otherwise, you can also add a standard external hard drive that can be used to play Xbox 360 and Xbox One games that have not been enhanced for Xbox Series X/S. Hope that helps! -Chuck, Xbox Customer Care

Perfect for most gamers

Gameplay wise this is exactly the same as series X with 120. Only difference is if you are into 4K eye candy (series S can run at 60). For me, it’s the games not the graphics and I went digital / game pass long ago. Lightening fast load times, only downside this console is the Gb, but if you aren’t a hoarder of games (I only play 2 or 3 at time), this is all you will need until next generation (by then 4K OLEDs will be dirt cheap).

This System doesn't get the credit it deserves...

The Series S with game pass is an absolute win. I didn't realize how many games I wanted to play, somehow forgot about them until I started to scroll through it. It's pretty much netflix for games. This is prefect for kids because you can just pick the controller and start playing. No lost or broken disk. No need for them to touch the actual system at all. Hopefully we can get some cheaper storage options in the future because the Seagate more than 2/3 the cost of this system. Other than that, the Series S is a solid buy.

Hey Derrick -- We're glad that you're enjoying your new Xbox Series S. If you're running low on storage and don't want to invest in a Seagate SSD 1TB Expansion Card right now, you may also connect a standard external hard drive. It can be used to store and play Xbox 360 and Xbox One games that have not been enhanced for Xbox Series X/S. Hope that helps! -Chuck, Xbox Customer Care

Must Have

Great purchase, still like my PS5 more but I'm really enjoying the Series S and being back with an Xbox. Having a PS5 I saw no need for a Series X. Recommend the Series S if you want a smaller console, disc-free gaming or even for the cheaper option. Its worth it!
