Affordable alternative.. definitely worth it!

Purchased Xbox S on December 17 through Walmart app during one of their timed releases. The Xbox X/S and Play Station5 sold out within a matter of minutes if not seconds. I continued to refresh my page and had all of my payment information already set up so I was successful. The Xbox S was delivered in a timely fashion although it stated it would not be delivered until January 12 it arrived on December 26 in perfect condition. Setting up the Xbox was easy. The speeds and the picture quality are great. We do have a newer TV with 4K capability but 4K was not really necessary for a 11-year-old. The Xbox has played perfectly fine on all of our TVs with gaming picture just as clear. We like the ease of not having to put in and take out a disk. We are able to switch between games with speed and ease. The only negative thing we would have to say is the amount of memory space. We rectified that by purchasing a Xbox 2 TB memory drive for $80...So we are still under what we would have paid for the Xbox X with more memory. This purchase was worth it Despite some of the reviews. My 11 year old son loves to game and he is happy with his new system. I even play games I’ve download for myself. Extra tip: get the Ultimate Game Pass it’s definitely worth a try for a $1 for the first three months.

Super fast shipping.

Still in the box. I do not play video games, but the reviews on the graphics for this unit seem favorable. A lot cheaper than the other new X-Box release and I imagine I can add a 2TB external drive if the kids need to save avatars and so forth. Shipped really fast, like 3 days fast, that was surprising.

Console works well, but…

When I purchased my Series S I was originally pretty hyped about getting a new console at retail price. However, I was a bit annoyed when I got home to find that it came with no power supply, controller, or HDMI. Thankfully I have the right type of cord laying around from an old PS2, so I was able to improvise, as well as having a controller from my old Xbox that was usable. Slightly disappointed, but it is what it is. At least it works.

Great system but storage is a issue.

I liked everything about this console other then it has no storage. Xbox could do a better job with storage since its a digital edition. I guess that would make to much sense though. It makes no sense that a external hard drive would cost 200. They should so make it where any hard drive will work with x and s games.

Hi Kelby--We're glad that you're enjoying your new Xbox Series S. If you're running low on storage, you have a couple of options. The best solution is to invest in the Seagate SSD 1TB Expansion Card for Xbox Series X/S, which will add 1TB of SSD storage to your console. Another solution is to add a standard external hard drive, which can be used to store and play Xbox 360 and Xbox One games that have not been enhanced for Xbox Series X/S. Hope that helps. -Chuck, Xbox Customer Care

So far so good

So far so good, no issues, great graphics, it froze a few times during multi-player games online probably due to internet speeds. I am not a big gamer though and haven't tried and tested all the features. I only have some complains about ea sports on Xbox goldpsss. It is very hard to play with your friends online when you want to play 2 on 2. We haven't figured out a good solution yet spent over 45 mins last night trying to figure it out no success.

Fast Shipping

This is a gift for my girlfriend for our 1 year anniversary and im super happy with how fast the shipping was! The only reason why this isnt getting a 5 star review is because the box came damaged, but the console itself is perfectly fine. The box also seemed to be opened previously.

The gateway to the next generation

First, let me give you a little background: I've had PlayStations since PS1 and I'm not familiar with Xbox consoles. Currently, I own a PlayStation 5 and I'm happy with it. However, I wanted to explore Xbox exclusives and play some old games from all Xbox generations. I considered purchasing the Series X but they're out of stock at this moment (02/21/2022). Same for the PS5, which I had to follow some Twitter profiles to score one...I don't want to do that again. Then, it led me to purchase the Series S, which I give my review below. Controller: If you already own an Xbox, the controller will be virtually the same. If you own a PS4/5, expect a lighter controller, which feels more like a "toy", but very comfortable, responsive, and with the left stick in a more appropriate place. Graphics: Definitely new generation graphs! Although it natively runs at 1440p, it scales to 4k very well. Microsoft Flight Simulator is an incredible game with marvelous graphs. Impressive. Performance: It surprisingly runs smoothly in major AAA titles, such as Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, and Gears 5. Games: The exclusives are great (Forza and Gears, more specifically), but the big difference here is the Game Pass Ultimate. A must. Go buy it. You gain access to a gigantic games library of games from Xbox (first gen.) to current AAA games. Sony is behind on this, no question. CONCLUSION: There are two scenarios in which this console is the best fit for you. 1- you're on a budget and want to enter the new generation of consoles. 2- you actually have the money to purchase the Series X but it's out of stock and you don't want to support scalpers. In both cases, go for it. You'll not be disappointed. The only scenario that the Series S is not for you is that you want the best performance you can get from a console in 2022. In this case, you'll have to make a big effort to find a PS5 or a Series X for the proper retail price (please, don't buy from scalpers, save yourself some money, and don't support this unethical market).

Way better than my ( Xbox one -x )

Excellent product for the money Got it here for reg retail price of $299.00 I've had it for months now and it runs about 4 hours a day I purchased a small USB fan to blow down on the top of the console it does get a little hot --- ( just a precaution ) Load times have definitely shortened quite a bit. Video streams perfectly Would be nice if Microsoft would put out an external optical drive for it So I could place my boxed titles But I find running digital downloads less of a hassle Excellent buy

Awesome

I've messed around with mine about a week. Coming from the One X, this still feels like a huge update. It's the same OS/controller, but everything is just so much smoother and faster with the SSD. Also Destiny (and other games) at 60fps is bliss. Also this thing is TINY and is well engineered. Overall, if you're still using a 1080p TV (like me) this thing is a great little GamePass machine at a great price.

Definitely lives up to the hype

Great buy! Came 12 hours early to my apartment and is everything I dreamed it would be. I have had Xbox Ultimate Games Pass on my PC and my Androids (Microsoft Surface Duo and Samsung Galaxy Note 20) and it was the coolest thing I have had happen to me in technology in so long, for me to be able to upload my Microsoft account that I have used for Xbox for the past 10 or so and for windows and this thing had all my old games, downloads, saved games, and purchases all the way back from when I had a 360
