Not processed fish

Disappointed that I only received one piece that wasn’t the tail. So out of 7pieces, 6 were small tails...but I guess it’s the luck of the draw. I hope you have better luck and get more center pieces like advertised on the package. For the price, I will buy fresh and have my pick of the fish.

Pretty good for convenience

To start, I found small bones as I was chewing so be cautious. The salmon is good for the convenience, good price, good size for a single serving. I think if cooked well, you can create a delicious dish. It's obviously frozen- not fresh so the taste will differ but overall not bad :)

Cooking time is drastically different from package

This Salmon is a good price however, I first cooked it thawed out for the time it states on the back of the package and even though I thought it seemed like to long I followed it anyway and it was so tough! The second time we cooked it, we cooked it frozen to see if that would make a difference, again I thought the cook time even frozen seemed very long and only cooked for 15 minutes and it was slightly overcooked, had I followed the package and cooked up to 25 mins it probably would have been not good enough to eat. Otherwise the fish is good!

good overall but sometimes too many tail pieces

I have been the sockeye salmon from Sam's for years and am overall highly satisfied. Recently it seems like the pieces are more tail pieces that the center larger/meater pieces. The tail pieces are not as good quality. I will continue to try a few more times but if the pieces are more tails I will not buy

Bring back the old bags, please!

This is the worst fish I have ever had. I used to buy the blue & orange bags of frozen salmon from sams and thought they just had new packaging... nope, this stuff is horrible. The taste and the texture was awful. We cooked it 1 time and gave the rest to the chickens. I will not buy again. But if you are looking for really expensive chicken feed, they seemed to like it :/

Low Quality

This salmon was purchased because they were out of the Member’s Mark. I was not impressed by the thin cut of the salmon or it being skin-on. Not much to work with while trying to remove the skin and it became a mess during cook prep. I do not recommend.

Sooo disappointed, Sam's Club...

Nothing compares to fresh salmon, but in the past, I have enjoyed Sam's frozen salmon. BUT, this package was really bad... so bad, I don't think I will be eating/fixing salmon for quite some time. The odor was sooo strong, I was unable to take more than several bites... Once thawed and before cooking, the filets appeared artificial - every filet was soggy/limp, and meat was separated... You really let me down, Sam's!!

Love these Frozen WILD Salmon Fillets!

I love my “Member's Mark Wild Caught Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Frozen (2 lbs) Item # 980172673”. I’m now on my 4th package since I found them. 1st off, they’re 100% WILD CAUGHT (not farm-raised) – the back of my packages read, “Catch Method: NET CAUGHT, Harvest area: NORTHEAST PACIFIC OCEAN”. Not only do they cook perfectly, but I haven't hit the 1st bone yet. Each pkg (so far) has 5 vacuum-packed indiv. fillets – that’s so convenient, cook what you want when you want. I move the ones I want to cook from the freezer to the fridge the day before to thaw. Then I pan sautee’ with butter (Smart Balance), salt and pepper squeeze a little fresh lemon juice on top. Towards the end I dump one pan-sauteed chopped yellow onion on top for good measure – but that’s me! I cook on med./low for ~5mins per side, and they come out PERFECTLY. I just love these Frozen Wild Caught Salmon Fillets!!

So disappointed

I have bought this Alaskan sockeye for years. It is expensive, but less so than at other places and the quality was excellent. On a recent trip to Sam’s, I noticed the packaging is different - the bag looks the same, but it now says “Pacific Northwest Sockeye Salmon” and the back of the bag says “product of China.” This is NOT the same Alaskan salmon from the past, and likely the reason for all the recent negative reviews. I did not purchase, and will not, until the original product returns (if ever.). Really disappointed Sam’s has replaced the original with an inferior product.

Great, Healthy Value

Most economical way to add an Alaskan wild caught fish, that is not farmed, and that is also very high in Omega 3 oil fatty acids, and low in Mercury and Lead, to a healthy diet. Eating a quality fish at least twice a week is necessary for a healthy diet and this Member's Mark Wild Caught Alaskan Sockeye meets the bill and allows me to save money, PLUS it is very delicious. I incorporate the filets into many recipes or just grill it straight out of the package, after defrosting. The package is 3 lbs, and the fillets are meal sized. I love that there are no other additives or seasonings, and I can add my own. It is flash frozen very soon after processing. If I go to the fish store to get fresh salmon from Alaska, if it can be had, it costs $24/lb. Scottish salmon, which is farmed, is about $20 to $24 a lb also, so this is a much affordable buy for my family.
