This is my favorite brand of sausage, I like the breakfast version and the Italian. This goes great not only as-is for breakfast, but amazing in chili, lasagna, and a variety of other dishes. Plus it freezes well. You can freeze it raw or precook it and save for a quick fix later!! Love it!

I have always purchased JD's sausage no matter the price, but lately they've changed the recipe, and it's mostly fat now, with not a good-tasting sausage. I am done if you think a sausage eater doesn't know the difference in the spice you add, you eat it, and you went up on the price..

A breakfast regular and sometimes a luncheon treat. Very convenient size roll. Make sure role is very cold before slicing. Use sharp serated knife, cut through plastic covering (remove after cutting up the roll). Our cute-sy name for the resulting thick cuts: Hockey Pucks.

My wife calls all sausages "Jimmy Dean". This is a great deal and I actually like this over the 3 pound roll they used to have since it's easier to divey up into 1 pound portions for freezing. Has good flavor and goes well with all things needing sausage.
