The little VS1260 works well and makes an excellent wide sealing area on the bags. The side latches require a lot of pressure to lock-in when new, but once the gaskets break-in it will be easier to latch. No complaints otherwise, and I like this little machine much better than our FoodSaver model called the "Big Game" which has been an excellent machine.

The force needed to close the unit took some getting used to but it is just fine. There is much less waste of plastic above the seal than that on my fifteen-year old unit. I love that. I do miss the retractable accessory hose. However, I really don't use it much and I suppose I will get used to clicking the detachable hose in as well. Most of all, I love the low profile. i think it is the smallest and lightest model. I can easily slip it into the drawer. I don't miss extra functions such as Gentle and Moist.

I bought this for the "space saving" feature but its not worth it, neither are the bags. First off, sometimes while in vac/seal, it continues to run the vacuum and never seals. I have had to lean on it, I hear the tone change and then it usually goes to seal but not always. Now, 9/10 times I plug it in and all the lights come on but won't let me select any of the 3 options. This occurs whether its the first time using it that day or after a few bags. It takes me a few minutes between each bag so it should have time to cool off. I found that if I unplug it, hit each button twice and then let it sit, it will reset itself. I found this on a troubleshooting site that said "hit the cancel" button which I don't have. And finally, the bags. I am using actual FoodSaver bags and most of what I seal is dehydrated. I might expect some of the more prickly items to puncture the bag but 1/4 bags lose their vacuum seal quickly. This is becoming costly both in bags lost and food lost. Thankfully most of my trips are shorter and I store the dried food in the freezer so not much time for spoilage.

Just tried this today. It is awkward trying to keep the e sealing edge of the bag flat while you pull the lid down. If you are arthritis like me, it is hard to press down on the two edges to lock it. I liked my previous food saver with an easy locking mechanism, easy to follow instructions in the lid and an easy load edge of the bag. Once I figured out that the bag edge could not be over the drip channel, I was finally able to get it to vacuum and seal. I didn’t think it was much less bulky that my old unit. I haven’t had it long enough to assess how well it preserves food. Would definitely prefer my old food saver. Sadly, it “died”.

Very disappointed. Did not have suction power and options of one I was replacing that I had purchased 17 years ago. Returned and purchased one from different manufacturer.

This machine really works. It vacuums and seals as advertised. And a great price. The sealed line on my old FoodSaver was about a pencil lead wide. This machine sealed line is maybe 1/8” wide, a good seal.

Disappointed that this food saver does not store the rolls to make the bags. I have to cut them myself. I have been using food saver machines for over 20 years and this is a first.

I had an older model and it finally quit working so I purchased this as replacement. It’s compact and works great. Just wish it had the cutter on it like the old one had but really happy overall. Good vacuum and seal.

This is my second FoodSaver. The first one lasted around 20 years. This one is a great piece of food storage equipment. It's simple and effective. Glad I bought it.

For being small and compact, this works great! It also seals more toward the top of the bag, thus able to use more of the bag. Really like this sealer.
